  1. Shagrat, Thank you very much, you nailed it. Remapping the trigger to another key solved the problem. Funny thing, I thought I had already tried that and it didn't work...tried again tonight and the missiles fired as expected in the training missions. Must have goffed up the key binding the first time I tried or something. Maybe it didn't save properly. Thanks again for your help. tim
  2. Hi, I had the same problem with the missiles/gun not firing in the training missions. Turned out the problem was that the training missions use the spacebar to continue the lesson, and I had the trigger button bound to the spacebar by default, and the training mission won. Rebinding the trigger to a key other than the spacebar solved the problem for me. Hope this helps you out. tim
  3. Hi, This is pretty bizaar... I'm using the TM Warthog and Target script sw. I noticed that when running any of the AA training mission using either guns or missiles, squeezing the trigger on the joystick or using the spacebar key on the keyboard will launch any missiles or fire the gun. Yet when I am in a mission using the same weapons, the trigger on the joystick works perfectly. And while in training missions, I've used the TM event tester to make sure when the trigger is squeezed that the spacebar is 'pressed'....and I checked the keyboard bindings in game to make sure fire is bound to the spacebar key and it is....and yet nothing fires. ...and all the AG training missions work fine. I don't know what else to check. Anyone else have an issue like this and find a solution? It's just weird. Thanx, tim
  4. Hi All, Question about the moving map in the FA18....is it possible to slew around the moving map on the Hornet the way you can in the Harrier at this time? If so, how is it done? Thanks, twells555
  5. On the contrary, you have been a lot of help. Thank you. I think since, as you say ,it seems to be a problem that only I have, which was one of the things I was hoping to find out by posting the issue, the best thing for me to do at this point is a complete reinstall of dcs since it doesn't seem to be my hardware...or maybe just dl the release version and see how that works. I'm fine with that, and very glad it doesn't seem to be the expensive hardware I'm using. tim
  6. Got some time to fly this weekend and tried a few of your suggestions...Having the throttle and stick profiles along with the combined seems to have righted itself...perhaps with the last dcs update? I now have just a keyboard, combined, mfg, and mouse profiles as it had been b4. Doesn't seem to have changed anything...some flights seem to go real well, others not so much...even though I never shut down the box or reboot windows. And I no longer allow Windoze auto updating.... The problem seems to be with Dcs....per your suggestion I brought up the event tester when I had lost some button bindings. Both stick and throttle registered the proper key clicks on the tester without fail. Stopping and restarting the script gets the functions back....sometimes for the rest of the flight, sometimes just for a while. Being fairly new to dcs, I'm not sure where that leaves me. Oh, and the buttons are keyboard presses, not DX buttons...and I believe the script used both. Also, when it occurs, pressing corresponding keyboard keys does not register in Dcs either....
  7. Thankyou DeepDrummer... I haven't tried any other scripts recently, the only one I have is the noid script right now. But I have tried other scripts in the past, including other variants of the noid script...without this issue. This just started a few weeks back....and even before that I was running the same script and not seeing the issue...As a matter of fact, now that I think about it, it seems I first started noticing this issue shortly after switching over from saitek rudder pedals to mfg's...which did require usb unplugging and plugging...and running the mfg software. Hmmm.... I did uninstall and reinstall the target software with the latest to see if there is a difference. Too early to tell yet, I've been kind of busy. But does that also uninstall the drivers as well or is that done separately somewhere else? (I'm a Mac, Linux guy....only go to the dark side to run DCS and don't know all that much about it anymore....my last was Xp :-), windows 10 is a mystery... I'll also check those boxes you mention, didn't know anything about that. One thing I did notice on a quick test after reinstalling target, inside the game I no longer see the individual profiles for the throttle and stick along with the combined profile...I only see the combined, rudder pedals, and keyboard profiles so I'm hoping that cleans things up. I'm going to check those checkboxes you mentioned and make some time to doing some flying today and see if anything good has happened. Love-Hate with target...LOL...I agree completely. I was really hoping someone would suggest an alternative I could try. I thought I saw something a while back before I started having script issues but didn't try it cuz I didn't need it...should have made a note. tim
  8. Thanks very much for all the suggestions, I will try them all and report back if I find anything. I see the connect messages in the top right when I start the script, never any disconnect messages. Fyi, the script is a slightly modified script written by Noid which I dl from this site. Worked fine for a long time, issues just started recently. One odd thing I did notice, it seems like before once I loaded the script, I would have the tm combined profile, my mfg rudder pedal profile, and the keyboard loaded when I checked in game. Now I have the combined, keyboard, and rudders profiles...but also still have the individual throttle and stick profiles even though the target script is loaded...
  9. Well....good to know its just my mind and not my stick! thanx....
  10. Hi All, I use the TM Warthog with a target software script to program it. I use a script, not the gui. I am having a problem with buttons I have scripted losing thier binding after loading the script, starting a mission, and having the buttons initially working. Not all the buttons lose thier binding, just some of them and it seems almost at random. Pausing the mission and re-loading the script solves the problem for a while, but then it repeats. (Very annoying, and of course I don't notice a button has lost its binding until the worst possible time...). So I am wondering if there are any longtime (I'm fairly new) Warthog/Target users who have experienced and solved this problem, or better yet, if there is an alternative to the target software which I could try? Or even an acknowledgement that I'm not losing my mind would be something! I prefer not to use the dcs profile if possible because I really like all the programming options coding the script provides, which you can't do with the dcs game profile method. But it is really getting annoying... Thanks tim
  11. Hi All, Just wondering how do you put the tpod in HTS mode? I've never been able to find it...thought it was just a WIP rumor.... t
  12. Not really, it seems like just a constant rumble which continues until I shut down the sound software....it actually seems like it may begin to do that instead of vibrating to events during the mission even before the mission ends and then just continues after the mission ends....I'll try to isolate it better the next time I fly if I can... If it helps...I also just got the gametrix jet seat from Andre and even with the Harrier, vibrations stop when the mission ends as they should.
  13. Hi Andre, Yes, it seems to be what you suspect, a loop in the code does not end when the mission does for the harrier...I tried the hornet this weekend and the input to the buttkicker stopped when the mission ended as expected. Then I tried the same mission with a harrier and when the mission ended, the buttkicker kept rumbling....even when I shut down dcs completely , it kept rumbling....until I shut down the ssa and the sound module. If you have a guess at a solution which is fairly straight-forward I could give it a try for you since you don't have the harrier...just let me know. tim
  14. Hi Andre, I can try the hornet....with the harrier....it also seems like after its been running a while, the buttkicker vibrations no longer 'fit' what's going on in the game and it just kind of starts vibrating randomly....Thanks for your quick reply...I'll try the Hornet this weekend and post back. tim
  15. Hi All, I just starting using ssa with a buttkicker when flying the av8na harrier. When I finish a mission and return back to the main menu page...the buttkicker continues working with a somewhat constant rumble...is that normal for the ssa/buttkicker set up? I find the only way to stop the rumbling is to turn off the buttkicker or shut down the simshaker after each flight... Thanks, tim
