Hi, First, what a great update today! Looks fantastic in the write-up. Thank you. I have not upgraded yet so this question applies to the last 2.5.6 beta update. I am not much of a mission writer...I refer to other peoples missions I have been running for a while without this issue until now...for example Banklers Case 1 Recovery and some of RedKites missions. So your probably wondering to what I refer by now, aren't you? I have always been started in the missions either in the cockpit for a single player mission with "player" selected as the skill level...or at the "select client" table for missions with the "client" skill level selected in the mission editor...and I choose the client and things start...even in single player. But now...not all...but definately the missions I mentioned and more...when I start I'm 'floating' outside an aircraft from the mission....with no way to get into the cockpit of anything. It's kind of like the spectators view in multiplayer I think...not much of a multiplayer flyer these days...only I am definately not in multiplayer... I remember something like that from when I did a lot of multiplayer... So is there a new setting or something I need to check in the missions now to start things up? I've looked around but am kind of baffled...especially since its not all missions and doesn't seem to matter if its new missions I just downloaded or those I've been flying for years...Its constant as far as the missions that do it always do it....but its not all missions either...and changing player to client etc...in the mission editor does not seem to make any difference... Thank to all! I'm baffled with this one... tim

Not to complain but +1 on that...how long has the TGP been out and still no HUD indicator...I don't get it...JF17 comes out and everything is functional from the start. Just a TGP marker on the HUD...any kind of mark...doesn't have to be finished or perfect...LOL...been waiting for a long time...

Hi Lefuneste01...Thank you for your quick reply. Lets see... Yes, I will try low FOV this evening and get back to you... I do not change the IPD in DCS or move the Pitool option from its default position. All pimax are at default for everything and parallel projection is turned off. Not sure what graphics options you are asking about 'in the first post'...I set the UI VR zoom option to use the num* key in DCS and then tried holding that key and adjusting with the end and pagedown key...is that what you mean? Doing that did not focus the view using either key and didn't seem to have much effect at all... I am a bit confused by this line in the first post: "Press and maintain the zoom key you want to set: INS or HOME or PAGE UP for modded zoom or NUMPAD* for DCS world VR." What is modded zoom? (I used the NUMPAD* key) I don't know how to set up Mirror display in steamVR but I will google it and try that. (I'm not a 'gamer'....I fly dcsworld flight sim and thats all, so other than the settings super sampling stuff I never go into steamVR, just start steam from Pitool and then launch Dcsworld) I'll try and get back to you when I figure it out... When I try it this evening I will delete the x3dx_user.ini file and let it regenerate itself... tim

How to install Hi all, A few questions about installing the mod. I'm using the Pimax5k+, have parallel projection turned off, and am using the normal fov. I installed the mod using ovgme and can see the dll's and files in the bin directory with the DcsWorld executable. I mapped the DcsworldVR zoom key to num* per the install instructions. Oh yeah, I'm using the latest 2.2 version without kegotis installed....usually have kegotis installed but the latest update is giving me some trouble, so I'm trying this mod without it...Dcs performance is surprisingly good since the last update even without the shader mod... But when I start Dcs with the mod enabled via ovgme, the initial menu screen is quite messed up...almost looks like the basic dcs zoom feature when parallel project is turned off...but worse...very hard to explain...but it looks like its zooming in by default...and when I then press the key I have mapped to zoom...it seems to unzoom and looks better, but still quite messed up. LOL...sorry, its hard to explain! But its painful... I obviously messed something up somewhere...or missed a step...seems to work fine for others... For the Pimax Normal FOV do I need to modify one of the user files to make it look right? I tried pressing the end and pagedown keys with the zoom held to adjust things per the install instructions but that didn't help at all... tim

Using ver .121 with the latest open beta and the Vr shader mod by Kegotis with no problems so far. Like others have already said, seems smoother than the previous pitool rev. -
Hi All, I've been using DCS with steamVr and the Pimax 5k. Wondering if the Pimax can also be used with oculus sw instead of the steam sw to launch Vr? Thanks, tim

Hi All, I'm using the Pimax5K+ with pitool rev .112 and the headset firmware update that came with the pitool update. I use the Kegatis Vr shader mod and everything runs very smooth with very little ground jitter...most of the time. A problem I am having is that I can fly around for hours with no problem, but often when I land if I take the headset off to take care of some immersion breaking emergency, when I put the headset back on again my throttles will no longer move and the buttons are often not responsive. When it happens, if I bring up the target utilities and test the joystick and buttons, everything is working at it should. Stopping and restarting the target script does not help, it seems to be a headset issue...or a dcs issue, or both or steam(?)...not sure which...but the only thing that gets it working again is restarting dcsworld....now there's an immersion breaker! When it occurs, everything else is normal in Vr, just that the Throttles don't move. I have tried reinstalling dcs (beta), running with just dcsworld bindings to eliminate target scripting, turning off voiceattack and the few mods I use and nothing has made any difference so far. I used the rift for a long time and never had an issue like this, so I'm leaning towards a pimax or steam issue more than a dcsworld issue right now...but I am scratching my head on this one... So I'm wondering if anybody else is having this issue and maybe found a cause for it? Also, does anyone know dcsworld can be run with the oculus software and the pimax? That would eliminate one more possibility.... thank you for making it this far... tim

I use the Kegatis Lite Vr Shader mod and don't really notice any distortion unless I'm trying to look way back over my shoulder at something. Also makes things a lot more smooth in the Pimax. I had a lot of jittering before I started using the mod...

Its kind of awkward but if you do want to occassionally zoom with PP turned off, try closing one eye while zooming....gets rid of the cross-eyed issue...

In DCS I need to turn on parallel project to get the zoom feature to function, otherwise when zooming it is all cross eyed looking...otherwise DCS seems to run fine with parallel projection turned of.

Very true, without at least one lighthouse tracker, you have no forward,back movement...the entire view moves back and forth. One tracker solved that. My question is...strictly for Dcsworld simming, is there any value in getting a second tracker? -

Per a video by Sweviver, I disabled the masksize feature and it seemed to help, but not completely eliminate stuff on the edges...but Its not even noticed unless you look for it... -
Agreed....I hated the feel with the pimax headband (sportsbra)....sore nose, sore cheek bones, pain in the arse etc...the vive audio strap was well worth the money and solved a lot of comfort problems. I can wear it for hours now with no problems...now if I could only get a vive audio strap for my lower back....

I agree with pegon....the 'hype' is real. Dcs runs very well on Pimax with a 1080ti and using the great shader mod created by Kegasys. Much better experience than the ocuius rift...better visuals and much better target spotting...at least for me. Long frustrating 4 month wait to get it but definately worth it. -
Guys, Thank you....I got it working by starting steamVr outside pitool and then starting dcs from my pitool import. Think it would work from outside just as well... Odd though, Even though steamVr is installed and working, when I try to start it from the pitool button, pitool says please install steamVr...and has a button to install it...but, when I press that button, it takes me to a broken link on the pimaxVr website...I'll have to try that again in a few days. Now to see if a single lighthouse will be good enough...it works but not very well with no lighthouse at all! I'm such a cheapskate but with three now useless rift sensors...I hate spending more cash!

33-DFC - I was not a backer and ordered on 1 Nov. I don't know if it was just coincidence or not, but I put in a ticket just requesting a status on my order a few weeks ago....got no response other than pimax saying they received my ticket...and then with no advanced warning or tracking emails it just showed up on my doorstep a few days ago.

Hi Pegon, New to Pimax and same type question...former oculus and oculus home user....so I can run Dcsworld beta standalone but I have to have started SteamVr with the pitool steamvr button first? Right now I have imported dcsWorld into pitool and it starts on my monitor but in the headset I just have some sort of moonscape view... Thanks for your help tim

I ordered my Pimax 5k on Nov 1st and just received it on Feb 22nd....so you might have a while to go. In the meantime, you might want to keep an eye out and stay up to date on whatever mods/accessories may be coming out to make it more comfortable...improvements on the headstrap....and if you see one that seems good, get a headstart on ordering it! I wish I had done that...the only downside I see in the pimax so far is the headstrap design...really not very good at all...especially after getting used to the oculus fit...

Jonsky7 - How do you like the Deltaalphalima1 mod? Is it much better than the original slew control? How difficult to swap out? tim
