  1. I have a slight variation on this theme. I downloaded 2.9 to my brand new PC (Stormforce 4090 + Intel 14k), DCS becoming hard to play in VR on my old 2080 PC. On logging on, however, I got the "unauthorised" message related to my AV8B. Initial tinkering revealed that my McAfee AV did not like the AV8B_FM.dll from the root Mods Folder i.e. DCS/Mods/aircraft/AV8BNA/bin/AV8B_FM.dll McAfee had the file quarantined and would not allow me to exclude it! So I switched off McAfee and DCS loaded normally! All well and good but I prefer to have some AV protection, so I uninstalled McAfee and duly excluded all the relevant folders from Windows Defender thinking I would rely on the Microsoft native AV instead of McAfee. But, guesse what? I got the unauthorised AV8B message on loading, despite the DCS exclusions I had made. I tried excluding all sorts of folders but could not fix it. After doing a clean and a repair I went through the whole process again. But everything went exactly the same as above. So, I reinstalled McAfee and, as before, with it switched off DCS loaded normally and I could fly my beloved AV8B. It just seems to mean that I can't have McAfee (or Windows Defender) switched on when I fly DCS. So for that period of time I am unprotected. Other sims, eg Great Battles, CoD, MSFS etc work fine with McAfee switched on. Any ideas? I
  2. Yes indeed - Devs, please unlock the torpedoes
  3. Many thanks for your hard work Hawkeye. You have done DCS Pacific Theatre a great service - the models are superb
  4. Using Winzip or similar, extract each individual ship from the "Japanese Fleet" file Drill down through the hierarchy of folders of each ship to find the actual ship folder that you will install For example IJN Battleship Nagato/Mods/Tech/IJN Battleship Nagato (this last is the ship file that you will install) Then install each ship file as follows; Windows (C)/Users/(Your named folder)/Saved Games/DCS.openbeta (or DCS)/Mods/Tech/IJN Battleship Nagato You should then find the ship in your DCS installation when you open it
  5. That's great news Hawkeye I and most of the Pacific Theatre community I'm sure would be happy with less than perfect damage models. It would be great to get the ships out there in the game so that testing and evaluation in missions can begin, and only 2 days left until the end of October
  6. Many thanks @Hawkeye60 for your collaboration with the Grim Reapers. Their YouTube videos featuring your ships are excellent. The light cruiser in the IJN selection of ships is a beautiful model. Do you have plans to release it in the near future? Best regards and thanks for your amazing work

Excellent range of WWII Naval assets already available from Hawkeye & Co These are very much WIP with varying levels of working armament and damage models - the ships are generally very good quality, but I suggest anyone interested should thoroughly read the threads before using. 9. Nice review from HIP Games here DCS Free to play l Apache Update l WWII Navy Assets pack l JAS-39 Gripen Mod l ON THE SPOT NEWS - YouTube
  10. It's a standard problem at the moment since Hawkeye added working torpedoes - the non-torpedo version worked fine - waiting for a fix - see previous posts
  11. Yes the Yamato damage model does not seem to be correct - it sinks far too easily - I'm sure Hawkeye will fix it in due course.
  12. You are putting ALL THE EXTRACTED FILES into the tech folder!!! When you open the download, you have the folder path INCLUDED!!! So, you are DOUBLING UP (2x) the file path. Put ONLY the SHIP FOLDER (WWII Japanese Yamato Class) into YOUR TECH FOLDER
  13. Windows(C) > Users > Your Windows Name (eg "Chompski") > Saved Games > DCS.openbeta> Mods > Tech If you do not have any of the folders then just make them!
  14. Hi Hawkeye You get a mention by Grim Reapers in their recent YouTube vid (around about 8 minutes into the video) Can A WWII Battleship Super Fleet Beat A US Carrier Group? (Vid 13) | DCS WORLD - YouTube They also feature your mods here WWII: US, British, German, Italian & French Navies - General Guide | DCS WORLD - YouTube I think they would love to chat with you about the ship mods
