vextor clip deadsmell thanks for the advice. i now use the vector rather than my clip on all my trackir games and there all running much smoother now.................for some reason the clip wasnt working for me at all.

thanks for the help I am running XP I have re adjusted the position of the little box and also have switched any background lights off and it is playing a lot better now.....(the trouble I have is by monitor is big and it also sits much higher than the top of my head and the box sits on top of the monitor which I think was causing some of the problem) Prophet I also thought that the x 52 profile had to be set up esecially for track IR other wise it wont work (I have never set up my own x 52 (non pro) profile but used other peoples..or do I misunderstand ?) although i now got BS to work I am still having trouble with IL-2/1946 i am using a profile that was suppoedly set up correctly for track IR but everything goes crazy when i try run the game - i look left and view goes right (and also I notice the 4 red leds come on when i load the game?)

I just got track IR with the clip and updated the IR software to build 36. First time I used it with black shark along with my x 52 it seemed work perfectly, but now when I use it seems to be very jerky and not panning smoothly particularly in the area directly infront of me (I have tried using a number of different x 52 profiles but this makes no difference i still get the jerky panning) Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to correct it?

....I am now leaning towards the ATI solution as I play black shark and lock on mostly and from what people say running at 1600x1200 resolution with aa at x8 ATI seems give the best performance..... Everything I have read to date seems to suggest that the 4870x2 is the best single non cross fire/SLI card available at the moment, and with a overclocked i7 processer should run black shark very well. But I did read somewhere that it might be prone to microbursts because it has x2 cores (runs at high frame rates but despite this u get noticeable pauses every so often with some games) Does anyone have any experience of this running the 4870x2 with blackshark or any other sim? (I have only really experienced microbursts with one game EECH2 on my current PC which runs nvidia 7800's in sli but i never solved the problem and it ruined the game for me........)

A question for alfa or one of the tester team.............. what kind of hardware will it take to run black shark with all the detail maxed out at good framerates and at a resolution of maybe 1600x1200 would a system with a intel i7, single nvidia 280 or ati 4870 1gb, 6gb memory, vista 64 bit be likely to do it?and what spec of system would he recommend (i am particualrly interested in his recommendation for cpu and video card?assuming cost is not an issue)

Ok thanks for the advice ok i think i will go with a non sli setup then.......do u think a 1gb 4870 ATI will give better frames per second than a 1gb nvidia 280 on black shark and lock on?(I have heard it is only worth sli these cards if u are playing on a massive monitor with a resolution 1600x or above is this correct?) does anyone know if vista 64 bit will run black shark and lock on without any problem?

I am just about to upgrade my system and am looking for some suggestion about what is going to give me the best performance (highest frame rates in games like Black Shark/lock on/Flight Sim X, the games I play the most) I was thinkin of a system with the new intel i7 processor, nvidia 280 with 1gb or x2 260's in sli, windows vista 64bit and 4 or 6 gb memory. Has anyone tried to run a similiar system and did it give any issues with black shark/lock on?(i know vista 64 doesnt seem to work with everything)...........

ok sorry i didnt realise BS initial profile was for TIR............... sorry for my ignorance but I just got my x52. can someone tell me step by step how i change the profile so i can pan view with the hat switch in cockpit..........i have tried changing the assignments in the in game options menu but cant get it to work!!!.....................

reason for the new thread is before i was using old software so was looking for .dat files now I upgraded to new software so am looking for .pr0 and i have only seen one regular x52 profile on the forum that i got to work......but found pan view was not linked to any of the POV switeches so i am still looking for a profile!!if possible with mapping diagram!!

Does any one have any black shark profiles for the regular X52 stick?(pr0 format is ok) Preferably some that let you pan your cockpit view with one of the hat switches when you are in cockpit.

I have a very strange problem, got the game running ok and got FRAPS and the in game frame rate counter running ok. But I have tried changing some of the display settings on the in game menu and using the option.lua file and strangely now the FRAPS wont display (although it appears to be running ok in some of the pre game splash screens) and the internal frame rate counter as well as the information bar along the bottom of the screen in the external view wont come up? (I also noticed that I seem to be getting part of the arcade screen (big yellow compass partly displays at the top right of the screen) when I am in the internal cockpit view). Anyone any idea what might be causing this?(the only things I have changed are the display settings and profile for my x52)

Does anyone have have a black shark x52 profile in .dat format? I have found a couple of profiles for black shark but they are both in .pr0 format and because by software is old version it only reads .dat profiles. I dont want to update it as a have got lots of other profiles all in .dat format so I dont want to have to replace them.

X52 and X52pro profiles I just downloaded both of these profiles for my regular x52. (1)Will the version for x52pro work on my regular x52? (2)I note both of these files are in .pr0 file format, when I drop them into my sailtek software directory and try to load them into my stick the software only seems to read profiles in the .dat format, how do i get these .pr0 files working with my stick?

saitek x52 (1)Does anyone have a black shark profile for the x52 with a mapping diagram and in .dat format? (2)I did download one recently but this was in a .pr0 format and my saitek software seems to only read the .dat format files....does anyone know why this is?
