  1. There really should be a way to connect to voice chat and talk without having to run DCS and connect to a server. I very often will do ATC/C2 things in multiplayer servers without using the F10 map therefore not even running DCS. Since I don't run DCS while doing this, SRS is the only option for voice communication. I know this is a big thing a few multiplayer servers are waiting on before they make the swap from SRS.

  2. Wake turbulence in multiplayer seems to almost have a multiplier effect on wake turbulence. Fairly regularly causing very exaggerated pitch roll and yaw moments, usually during takeoff and landing. I'm including two track files, the first being single player, the second multiplayer.

The 3rd lap in the pattern on "Wake turbulence MP" is a pretty common occurrence and is very extreme for same aircraft wake turbulence.

  3. There should be an option to load a DTC that another player sends to you without going into the user files. It would be nice to have a "Upload multiplayer DTC" and "Load multiplayer DTC" in the DTC menu. This would allow for a flight lead to push COM presets and in the future, lines and other info without having to teach people the file path.

  4. Using the up/down arrows changes the frequency in the opposite direction than expected. Up arrow in the 16 will tune a frequency 0.1 down, in the 18 it will change the frequency by 1.0 down. Pressing down will change the frequency up by the same values

To be fair, it doesn't make sense that yours calculates CAS, as it is a bit different for each aircraft, while IAS should theoretically be the same for all.

Just FYI, it's the other way around. CAS should be the same across all aircraft because it's corrected for instrument and position errors. IAS is just what is shown to the pilot without any of those errors being fixed. You may notice some aircraft (the viper comes to mind) show a "C" next to the airspeed to show that it's CAS not IAS.

The RWR on the F-15E is completely dead. Just flew on GS MP server, no sound and/or warning lights (AI, SAM)

I hate to be that guy but... did you turn it on? It's been working fine for me

  7. Contrails do not move with the wind when they are created by an aircraft.

When aircraft fly with a crosswind they will always have some amount of "crab" angle to maintain a course, making them appear to fly 'sideways' through the wind. When they create a contrail that contrail is also affected by the wind causing it to appear in a straight line behind the aircraft. Currently in DCS the contrails stay in the same position they were created making the aircraft's crab angle very apparent. I'm including three pictures, what happens in DCS, what happens IRL and a depiction (I'm a great artist I know) of what is happening.

Something about the F-15E RWR that I would like to know, why do all the other US planes seem to use 29 for the MiG-29/Su-27 family, but the F-15E uses SB?

SB stands for Slot Back, which is the radar used by the 29. Why they didn't go with 29 I'm not sure, but that's why it's SB at least.

    Hi All,

I'm trying to hunt down an option within the F-15E to change my MFDs and HUD to display True headings, instead of Magnetic.

Can't find a way in the manual, also can't find it in any submenu in the current build.

Have I missed it, or is this yet to be included? Or did the F-15E not even have a way to change to True headings?

Why would you want to use true instead of magnetic? I'm not saying you shouldn't but magnetic is the standard.

  10. In CRS mode the CDI indicates centered when the ground track is the same as the selected course and the heading is pointing at the selected waypoint. To my knowledge this mode should work the same as TCN.

  11. So you can use it with more than two people but if you have 1 person on the low number and 2 on the high number, the person on the low number will only see the distance to the closer high number. I use yardstick all the time with the group I fly with to do "Tacform" it allows us to fly 1 or more miles away from each other in formation to help with mutual support. I wrote a guide on it a little while ago https://docs.google.com/document/d/1AknC14Sz25ZFD70En1WuM7p3FFIHP2rvqIeisFWsslk/edit?usp=sharing

The main thing here is if you are on a multiplayer server, don't use anything below 37 and 100, it will mess up the datalink for everyone.

"as required" means just that: as required

It doesn't mean it has to be off so I think you should be able to switch it "as required" 🙃

nobody will fly a F-15E solo in a combat mission

Maybe I want to, maybe it's not realistic. Even if I don't want to and it's not, it doesn't really effect you in anyway so I'm not really sure why you are so against it

I honestly don't understand the need....
"Solo Flight" simulates a real solo flight. In this case you will not have to switch anything in the rear cockpit. You would never fly a combat mission in the F-15E without a WSO.
But if you want to fly alone on a multiplayer server, for example, the "Solo Flight" option should not be checked, but "Disable Multicrew". This way you fly alone, because nobody can enter the 2nd cockpit, but you can still switch between front and rear.

    solo vs disable multicrew.jpg

I would like to do this because it gets rid of the WSO model. Something just doesn't feel right to me seeing someone else in my plane that isn't actually there. Even if you are going on a solo flight you would go to the back seat and make sure all of the switches are set correctly so I don't see it as being unrealistic.
