silverdevil's post in Potentially Unwanted App Message was marked as the answer
there are lots of these reports in the forum. the problem is your AV is finding various DLLs in DCS and marking them suspicious. if you feel comfortable, add DCS folders to exceptions. this is also know to speed up the loading.

silverdevil's post in Update failed with virus alert was marked as the answer
if comfortable, you need to add a few folders to the exceptions. not just the updater. this is for defender but the folders to exclude are the same.
you could also "report false positive" to help others. the files are not virus.

silverdevil's post in Replay Mode changing was marked as the answer
hello. unfortunately the track system has been this way literally forever. there have been some improvements over the years. and there are many posts about the same problem. there is no fix. the track system was never meant for playback for content creation. it was used as small tracks for troubleshooting for the devs.
i can however give you a tip. when you want to watch the track to create the content, unplug your controllers. any movement by you will affect what the AI does. the longer the track, the more error you will see.

silverdevil's post in DCS 2.9 Crash at check-out and exit was marked as the answer
hello. it appears to be your AV blocking the file.
2024-06-19 10:49:59.739 INFO EDCORE (Main): C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin-mt\ImGui.dll
you can if you are comfortable exclude DCS folder from real time scanning or pause AV software.

ah. i am unsure of a limit for MIZs. i personally have a MIZ that is 75 MB. back to my question from before. can you share the mission? all the supposition is not going to get us anywhere helping you.

silverdevil's post in Modules installing in unexpected folders was marked as the answer
hello. i have F-4 and have a folder in Saved Games and at same level as DCS. you did not make a mistake. must be some Heatblur stuff. there is also another folder in \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\config\Input for each plane for controllers settings.

silverdevil's post in Keeps CTD since last update. was marked as the answer
hello. just before your crash you get this line
2024-04-17 18:45:50.955 ALERT EDCORE (8784): Out of memory in ed_malloc for 5592592 bytes.
you should increase your pagefile since you have only 32 GB of RAM.
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/increase-page-file-size-virtual-memory-windows
also you can lower your preload radius within DCS options.

silverdevil's post in Crashing with vr headset enabled in dcs was marked as the answer
hello. if you are using a quest headset, this is your issue. planned DCS patch tomorrow will fix.
-
silverdevil's post in Can only open DCS "in mobile mode" and not in VR was marked as the answer
hello. this could be an issue within your saved games folder. one never has to reinstall DCS. running a repair will essentially reinstall anything amiss. what VR headset do you use?

silverdevil's post in DCS Freezes (But it doesn't fall) was marked as the answer
hello. the last line of your log
2024-04-03 11:16:09.788 INFO APP (Main): application shutdown
did you actually initiate the application shutdown of DCS? there is nothing outwardly odd in your dcs.log.
i think this is your AV blocking? can you add exceptions to your AV software?
also look here.
good luck.

silverdevil's post in TDC Depress Not selecting Coord Grid in Open Beta was marked as the answer
there is a separate saved games folder for each install of DCS. even though there is only one version, you originally had two versions. so there is some difference within the two saved games folders.
unless you plan to use an older release before they were unified, just use the version that works.
if you really want to fix it then rename the broken CONFIG folder and copy the working CONFIG folder to the where the broken install is in saved games.

silverdevil's post in DCS World Training Missions Missing? was marked as the answer
since training missions are in the main DCS folder, a repair should get them back. you may want to remove unofficial mods too.
however be aware that true training missions are written for the caucus map. the missions are also written for AC and not terrain per se. the other missions you mention are non-training missions, meaning unaided by a tutorial.

silverdevil's post in How can i reinstall DCS OB and stable was marked as the answer
importing yes! i renamed my LUAs but import likely works fine. renaming the LUAs is how i did it.
the repair process is sufficient to get the game folder healthy. there is little need for anyone to reinstall. many times users do this only to find that either windows is causing problems. or something in Saved Games. i do not believe is much in the registry that needs manual changing. but repair will do this.

silverdevil's post in Log errors question was marked as the answer
are you having an issue with starting DCS or crashing while in DCS? the errors you seeing look to me as you suspect already. those are errors generated by the MOD. since DCS updated the MOD likely needs to be updated to work with latest DCS version.

silverdevil's post in 2.9 fixes way over my head was marked as the answer
hello. post the suspect mission. others can try it to see and share their results.
MT will eventually be the only version. so i suggest using it and posting problems you encounter. thanks @rob10 for typo!
post your current specs. we can see if anything is amiss as far as below system requirements for DCS.
see answer for 2.
generally, in my experience, it is best to get two exact matches of DIMMS / SODIMMS. so two compatible dell or crucial that are the same. RAM does do good. the more the better. i have an alienware from early 2021. i bit the bullet and got 128 GB. i do not have memory related issues. of course i could have went with overkill. but i had the money. i also have 32 GB pagefile.
for the rant 😉 see answer 2. and also add exceptions to your AV software. there is lots of other tidbits but lets go slow.
see this post
always come back for help. i surely will if i can. if you keep at it you will love DCS again.
good luck.

silverdevil's post in DCS crashes every time I try Multiplayer was marked as the answer
hello. i can try to help. some questions.
have you ever been able to join MP server?
have you removed all unofficial mods?
have you tried troubleshooting steps to rename \saved games\dcs(openbeta) folder?
have you ever run a repair? best to do this after step above.

silverdevil's post in Game freezes after a few minutes of play was marked as the answer

also devices are being unplugged.

"C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS_updater.exe"
MT DCS is straight to MT.
"C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin-mt\DCS.exe"
note you can change the icons to others if you wish. click the "change icon" button while in properties.
my MT is black and orange letters.
