WOW WOW WOW:D:D I had the monitor connected to the mobo graphics GPU... I had to scramble to find a hdmi to DVI connector, yes the monitor is old. Rename the folder and restarted the ovrserver service. WOW I was in the DCS hanger... So I exited out..need to get my HOTAS setup etc... OK Now for some advice to a first time VR user PLEASE.... :joystick: :pilotfly: Thanks for your help... BTW somewhere in bold type it should mention you need to connect the monitor to the same graphic card as the VR.:(

i7 8700 3.7 Mhz 6 cores, Asus gtx 1080ti, 16GB memory...Should work great...I can get the rift to work run the demos, etc. All of that work as expected..DCS works as expected full screen... Just can't get both to work together...

it shows a different "white room" that saids the DCS is taking time...to load It shows the circle progress loading bar.... sorry was thinking a linear bar...

Rechecked to make sure full screen is off.. Checked VR presets...no changes... again what screen resolution are you running? going to let is think for awhile..

Unchecking full screen did not work for me... What is your screen resolution set to?

Yes, DCS was running great before. I do have run full screen checked some where in the settings... I will go un-check that.

Yes I have Unknown Sources checked you may be onto something..in Task manager DCS is running 94% on CPU0-3D...I will let it run awhile.

OK here is my desktop image... rift says loading DCS taking awhile. I hear the DCS music...

What is Oculus home? I have a shortcut to OculusClient.exe. Is that what you are calling Oculus Home? looks like a place to config some, buy games, etc. Stopping the ovrservice allowed me to run DCS in normal windows mode so I could check the VR settings. Yes I have run DCS in full screen in the native resolution (1920 x 1080) after re-reading your post I think OculusClient and oculius home are the same...

I appreciate you guys helping:thumbup: Where I stand now. 1) I found a .bat file to run to start and stop the ovrservice, which allowed me to stop the VR software from running. 2) Then I ran DCS and made sure I had the "use VR" mode checked. It was. 3) Restarted the ovrservice. 4) put on the vr headset- the 3d environment started (the house thing/ desktop) 5) moved up the vr headset and clicked the DCS shortcut. A half screen of DCS come up on the monitor. Left side of the splash screen. in the VR headset it says DCS loading and just stays there. Still lost as to what to do :(:(

OK more info. I have set the desktop icon to run as administrator.. it still opens up a window and I minimize it. Inside the VR software I am using the Beta core. I see a 3d environment in which i see a desk top of sorts with a library..look cool. Is that the holodeck?..I see that DCS is a recent program run, I click to start it and all I get is "taking a long time to load" and it kick me back to the 3d environment. How do I start DCS in normal mode to make sure I have checked the "use VR mode"?

Well I am not sure what the holodeck is. I see no mention of it. Tried so many setting etc I don't were I am at.. Is there a list of steps to take to make this work? Thanks

I must have. now that everytime I start DCS the Oculus software starts. Also using Oculus software I enabled using Unknown programs to use Oculus software. How do unable DCS using VR software?

Hi, Just got my Rift in yesterday..:) Installed software. Ran Oculus setup. Things seem to be working as expected. Now I am trying to run DCS with Rift and I am having noobie problems. Running DCS starts the Oculus software. My main monitor displays a half DCS image. The CV1 shows "DCS taking a while to load. Check the monitor..." etc. and never changes. I do hear the DCS music.. What do I do now? Can you point me to some documentations, directions etc? Thanks

It did not take much to go this way. I have a PS4 with a VR headset and it is impressive. Looking forward to the Rift. Any "Got yas" on the setup? thanks

Hi, Somewhat new here. I have just been playing around with DCS for a while. Just upgraded my computer to run DCS 2.5. Good cpu and graphics card.. So if you had $500.00 would you buy a large single monitor or triple monitor setup with TrackIR or a VR headset? :( What are the pros and cons as you see them. Thanks

Hi, new here:( Is there a way to specify the time of day that the DSC_update runs? My internet provider has a "Bonus time" where I get some "free" bandwidth to use. Unfortunately it starts 2AM. Thanks for any help.

thanks, I found the .exe you are referring to. So maybe by the end of the week I will be flying high on my new computer!!!:thumbup:
