Did you try to default the weather settings to see if it makes any difference?
I did. Default weather with no wind, and boat speed of 11 Knots resulted in no sliding.

Just realized that in my track, the boat was only doing 12knots.
EDIT: Did another one with carrier speed at 29knots and no wind. Sliding all over the place.
EDIT EDIT: Here is another one. Carrier doing 24 knots. Thats the speed where sliding starts. Up till 24 knots things seems fine. Once I have started sliding the A/C will continue to be in that state until RPM reach 65% or I get enough groundspeed on deck, even with fully applied wheel brakes.
Good for you. I'm sliding after landing on a boat doing only 15 Knots. As soon as I turn on NWS HI and turn away from the landing zone, I start sliding. Also, often significant power is needed to just get the Hornet moving.

My lysbomb don't drop at all. The Fälld Last light is blinking and no weapon is released.
The manual is unclear in which weapon mode you should be to deliver lysbomb (I tried PLAN, RR and ATTACK).
The manual states that lysbomb could be delivered in NAV or ANF, but NAV + unsafe does not produce any popup indications in game (ANF does).
Exactly, I experienced the same too in NAV+unsafe.

I am wondering what is the release altitude for the Illumination Bombs. I could not find it in the manual - probably missed it somehow.
Also, it's not clear to me whether or not a Target Fix (M) is required or not. It seems the manual does not specify the necessity of a target fix therefore I guess a standard waypoint will do.
Can anyone please confirm? Thank you!
-
I did, but I could not even find my target. :-)
I then created a different mission for the Persia map attacking a factory deep inland, using high drag bombs. Love the Viggen. I hope that the outstanding issues will be fixed in the future.
By the way, I have been playing DCS for two months only so worry you not - I am a total noob! :-)

I have just tested Arak and High drag(M/71) bombs on an armored convoy and Jowen was right about the explosion radius that even though my bombs exploded on the road on a tight formation convoy very close to the vehicles and the smoke was so huge that I thought I killed almost everything than I was surprised when I saw a single kill :D on the mission result screen.
I've managed only one or two kill with these bombs because their damage radius seems small (I am not sure if its realistic or not) while with arak armor piercing I could easily manage to achieve higher kill counts. (3-4) I guess 5-6 is possible on a convoy in close formation if you set your flight path properly.
Hey Sharkh, let me know if you feel like doing a co-op Viggen mission on a HUNAF server for example!
-
If the Viggen had a complex TGP, it would definitely be easier. I'll try the rockets first.
-
Sliding in as little as 15 Knots of boat speed.
-
RB-75 sounds interesting too. Does it require advanced planning such as exact location of the target and such?
-
Köszi!
I am gonna give it a go this evening, first by using ARAK - I"d say indeed that is the Number One weapon of choice in this case.
Thanks once again!
-
Thank you! When I set up the mission, how should I select the target point? Since they are moving, I cannot exactly tell where they are gonna be. Should I just more or less "predict" their location for the target point?
-
I have a simple mission where my Viggen is based at Nalchik. From the mountains not too far from the airport, a convoy of 6 enemy units including several armed ones (T-72) and some unarmed ones, move down the mountain road, across some small villages in a valley. The road they travel often leads through forests.
If I were to employ the Viggen to eliminate the convoy or part of the convoy, which weapon would be the best choice? How would one normally spot these vehicles? Will they be visible on the radar? Or should I visually find them?
How would you guys do?
-
It turned out it's something that needs to be adjusted by RAZBAM.
-
ED confirmed it must be adjusted per individual module so it's RAZBAM's job to fix this!
-
Its adjusted per individual module, so no.
Now I see. Thanks!

Is the pop up distance problem solved?
Regards
I don't think so.
-
Third party or not, it isn't limited to that 3rd Party - it's more of an universal issue as the F-5 suffers from it too. Isn't it something that ED needs to look into?
-
-
Came across the exact same issue on the Mirage too, which I bought yesterday, all the MK82 bombs are like that. And I found that it was already reported in May this year - three months ago - yet no one bothered to fix it, despite being quite a an obvious and significant bug.
-
Still exists, came across this myself too. When will this be fixed? It could be an ED bug though, the F-5 has the exact same issue.

How can I locate the dxdiag file?
-
If you guys are using custom missions, mods etc, share them here as well, attach the mission, let me know what kind of mods, anything out of the ordinary, I use a very clean vanilla install, and I am not seeing these issues.
And dxdiag file so I can see your specs, ect.
Absolutely no custom mods. Only official stuff from your store.

Love this aircraft. In fact, it is one of the most anticipated aircraft for me, coming to DCS. There is only one I'd love more than this, and that is the Gripen.
