  1. I think it's ridiculous that there is such a shortage of copies for the hard manual for us to purchase. Nothing at Amazon or GoGoamer....I've been away from BS for a little while and would LOVE to have a manual. I'd be embarassed to say how much I've forgotten about this sim already!!! Damn, I forgot how to bring up the frame rate!! (rt <ctrl> <pause>) Saw that on here yesterday! LOL ED, get some manuals available to your customers!!
  2. Thanks guys for the info. Will check it out tonight.
  3. What key shows the % of completion?
  4. Agree with all you guys here. That alarm mission was great, and funny how you bring up the illumination from the Su-25, I thought that was AWESOME!! I "used to" love FSX. I built a new PC mainly for BS and RoF, and I don't even have FSX loaded. LOL. BS, as a flight sim, is fantastic. If I could fly it in some Photo scenery or Australia FTX I'd be in heaven without firing one weapon. I'm pretty close as is. I got the DVD a few weeks ago and remember how I was NOT looking forward to the start up sequence. Heh, now, bringing this bird to life in a parking spot is just a joy. I wish more campaign missions started cold and dark. I hear the patch will give you an option. Nice!
  5. Thanks everyone! Skydoc, you were right on. Turned "in cockpit" all the way up, and now the sounds are much better. I get the fffsssshhhhhhh of the missiles/rockets, which is very nice now, and the landing gear sounds much louder and better. Thanks!!
  6. I just read in a thread that someone was very impressed with the weapon sounds. In the F2 outside view, yes, they look and sound awesome. In the cockpit, I barely hear anything when I fire missiles or the cannon. Is this the norm? If I didn't see the missile launch or smoke from the cannon, I wouldn't even know if I fired anything. All other sounds seems to be normal/loud. Thanks! Just got my first campaign kills in Deployment mission two. The addiction is getting stronger every day.
  7. Awesome! You're gonna love it. Enjoy!!
  8. Just a great sim...got missiles to fire last night in the training mission. Worked very well and thanks to all for the assistance. I also have the skhval mapped to the hat switch of my Fighterstick with R-Alt. Nice. One thing Rick, when using "o" to pan the skhval, then use your hat switch to move the box and fit the target, you have to hit enter to lock the target, or a button on your joystick. I think that's what prevented me from using missiles the first time. There seems to be an extra press to lock the target. Maybe that might help you.
  9. Thanks GG, I'l make sure of these when I go to the shooting range later. I don't think it was the pylon, "Y" was working but you may have something with the laser.
  10. Good discussion...Bingo...just got my first targets!!!! :) WOOOHoooo! For whatever reason, I couldn't get the "C" to come up in the HUD when I had missiles, but switched to guns and was fine. This was in the training mission so will pratice more in the shooting range later. Really looking forward to it. BS is amazing in that the more you fly, the better it gets!!! I'm sure you guys know what I mean. Got the keys (: , . /) [ ] to manipulate the box for the Skhval and all was good. I went to the key commands and got it. VERY cool!!!!! Now I'm happy. Also very neat is using the helmet mounted target finder (H) with TIR4. Very sweet indeed. Slowhand, I'll be taking look over there in the evenings. Thanks for the invite man! I want to have a few basics before I get into multiplay, but they're coming. See you there soon. Etherreal and Dusty, thanks for all your helps guys. You've both been very helpful this first week, and it's very much appreciated. Just bumped your reps.
  11. Dusty, you're absolutely right, and I'm being patient, mostly learning to fly and learning some of the MANY nuances of flight. And, loving it. BUT, as I'm watching the weapons 1 Prod. note AGAIN, There's about 15 seconds of video that is the most crucial, starting around 7:45 when the guy says "I'm gonna slew my camera to the target...." in the HUD there's a circle "....bring it down,...set the target to the right...." Then he's moving SOMETHING to get the square on target and get "TA" on screen. He says nothing of how he's doing that. Is that with cyclic? Same with the in game training, they don't tell you what you need to do in certain, what I think are important, situations. Like how to slew the camera to the target. I think that's important. Also, in that note, at the same time he's doing this, it looks like he's zooming in and out to get a precise lock on the target. He could mention how he's doing it. It would be helpful if he did. Sure these are little things, but would be very helpful to people just starting out, like me. In three days I might laught at myself for not knowing how to slew the camera or zoom in/out, but today it would help a lot. :joystick: Just a few comments from a noob...
  12. Forget pulling teeth!! Order from GoGamer.com. Includes Priority mail for $39.99. You'll have it sooner than any other option. I got it in one day.
  13. Joshua, I'm at the same point as you. I just looked at the producers notes on Weapons, the first one. It will help you. The only thing not covered is how to manually move around the TV (Shval) to lock up targets. Maybe that's in the next prod. note. In weapons training, It's neat how you can use Track IR to move the TV to lock up targets, but I need a better understanding on how to do it WITH PRECISION. That's what's giving me problems now. Good luck to you.
  14. No Fraps. I might pick it up, but my main interest is to have my system perform well, where I do a bunch of research beforehand, and then play on it. I'm not that technical that I need to analyze FPS data. As far as HT, most people say to leave it off, except for certain applications, not gaming. Runs cooler with it off, etc. In my experience in just two months with this system, HT has made zero difference in Crysis, Empire Total War, or iRacing. I leave it off. But I will check out any affects on affinity later in the week.
  15. Doesn't sound too weird to me. This is exactly where I'm at. Using the shooting range mission to practice flying. Working on trimming and decelerating to a hover, and of course landing. It's funny because I'll fly over to the targets, but have absolutely no clue on how to engage yet.
