Backy 51 thank you very much. I found what I needed. I really do appreciate your help.

I have created some audio files to use as radio calls in a mission I am working on. They work just fine. The problem is the editor puts in its own radio calls. Is there a way to disable the programs automatic radio calls and just use the ones I make?

I think the problem has been solved. I'm just not sure how. As I mention before, I tried with and without the salute. When I tried the salute before I used the keyboard commands. I tried mapping the control to a switch on my throttle control and did the rest of the setup as before. This time, the launch went as it was suppose to. I repeated it and once again, with the salute mapped to a switch it worked. Thanks Hammer and Dragon for the assist.

Thanks for the quick replies. Yes, the trim is correctly set per the weight of the airplane, wings are spread and locked. The DDI screen shows all the boxes open even when the Master Caution comes on. A view with F2 shows a good hook up to the catapult. Since it comes on while I am increasing throttle I check the Engine page and both engines are looking good. There is just no indication why the light is on. It is my understanding that if you go to afterburner you don't require the salute. But to be sure, I've tried it both ways. Still won't launch. I believe it is somehow tied into the Master Caution Light being on, it just can't find the reason it is coming on.

I keep getting a Master Caution Light and Warning sound for no apparent reason. It will sometimes come on during level flight under 1 g., stay on for awhile and then go out. While it is on, a check of the cockpit can find no reason to account for the warning. Also I am unable to launch from a carrier. Wings unfolded and locked. Hooked up to the cat. Everything as it should be. I get the signal to increase power, but as I do the Master Caution comes on and the airplane just sits there with the afterburners thundering away.

Joystick Diagrams - Automated DCS Joystick diagrams
badhorse replied to rexehuk's topic in DCS Modding
I downloaded and ran your mod. A message flashed on the screen for a micro-second. No idea what it said. Then a message that the destination file could not be found. I am using an X-56 Throttle and Joystick. -
DCS Super Hercules mod by Anubis
badhorse replied to Eight Ball's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
I posted this in another area but this seems a better fit. My original problem was with version 5.9. When I found out there was a newer version (6.1) I down loaded that one. At first I thought that cured my problem. Under 5.9 I would spawn on the ramp sitting in the pilot's seat. DCS then crashed. After down loading 6.1 I was able to start the aircraft, taxi, takeoff, and land without issue. But when I clicked to end the flight, DCS crashed. I then added the C-130 to an existing mission where I had been flying the F-18. I again flew the C-130, this time starting in the air. I dropped paratroopers on an airfield and then landed. As soon as I ended the mission, DCS crashed. My last attempt was a new mission. I air spawned a couple of 4 ship groups of C-130s. Took off in the F-18 and went hunting. I intercepted the C-130s and fired a missile. As soon as a C-130 got hit, DCS crashed. I also down loaded a livery pac which worked fine. I have attached the latest log file. I just completed another flight. As soon as I click on exit, DCS crashes. dcs.log-20210105-170248.zip -

It just got more weird. I did find a newer version of the Hercules, the Super Hercules. So I downloaded and installed it plus a livery pac. I spawned on the ramp and waited for the crash, but it didn't happen! Yet. So I started up the engines, taxied out, took off, flew around the pattern and landed. When I came to a stop on the runway. I was feeling pretty good. Thought my problem was solved. I clicked to exit and DCS crashed. At least I got to flew the darn thing. The livery's seem to work fine.

No. I am not on the Steam version. To be honest, I don't know what that is. I just downloaded DCS World from their website. But as to your suggestion, I have tried it both ways. With that check box checked and with it unchecked. They both crashed.

I thought 5.9 was the current version? In any case I tried it again. This time I went to the mission editor. Created a small mission and clicked on the go fly button. The same thing happened. The airplane spawned on the ramp as instructed and I am sitting in the pilot seat, and DCS crashes. I tried it twice in a roll with the same results. I am really at a loss as to what is causing this.

I watched the Grim Reapers videos on the C-130 Hercules and decided I wanted to give it a try. I download it (ver. 5.9) and put it in my Mod/Aircraft folder. I started a quick mission with the airplane sitting on the ramp so I could go through the cold starting procedure. The airplane spawned on the ramp and I was sitting in the pilot's seat. Then DCS crashed. Tried it again with the same results. I am not running the Steam version or the beta version of DCS. Just downloaded it from their website. I also installed the A-4 mod which works just fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

Flappie sorry this feedback is late but I was overcome by life events for a while. It looks like you nailed it. I did have it in Game avionics mode (which I obviously had no idea what it did) and unselecting that got rid of most of the issues. I still have a few minor glitches I will work out, but you did take care of the major issue. I was able to fly outside of the training area and my settings remained as mapped. Thank you very much and also to everyone that helped.

I started DCS. When to controls and verified everything was like I set it. When to training and everything worked fine. Went to a Quick Start Mission and the once again things didn't work. I was so frustrated before I didn't notice that not only does the program not follow the mapping of my Joystick, Throttle and Rudder Pedals. But the TrackIR and the Keyboard commands also don't work. I quit DCS for awhile. I restarted it a couple of hours later. Went to the controls and verified everything was like I set it. This time I went to the mission editor and made a small mission. Just me on the blue side and a few enemy helicopters. I did what Lange_666 suggested and started hot on the runway instead of cold on the ramp and started the mission. I spawned on the runway with the engine running. The only thing that worked was the mouse. The keyboard, joystick, throttle, rudder pedals and TrackIR did nothing. Since it didn't recognize even the keyboard I had to go to task manager to close the program. This is driving me nuts. Although I admit, in my case it's a short drive. .

Okay, I'll give that a try. No. I don't have any Logitech profiles loaded. thanks for the help. I do appreciate it.

It keeps getting curiouser and curiouser. I tried what was suggested but the results were unchanged. Move the X-56 Throttle and the throttle in the cockpit did not move but the control stick did. That was in a quick mission. I tried a couple of other switches and they didn't work either. Just for giggles I went to training and tried it there. Everything I mapped worked as it should! I guess if I stick to training missions I will be okay.
-
Maybe I should go back to Aces High. I deleted the input files so I could start fresh. I loaded the game and completely re-mapped my Throttle, Joystick and Rudder Pedals. I saved the profile. I quit the game. I then started the game, made a quick mission and started it. It opened with me sitting on the ramp with a cold F-18 as it should. So before I did anything else I moved my throttle forward. In the cockpit, the throttle did not move but the control stick did. Same old thing. I am at a complete loss as to what is causing the mapping to change. But DCS is unusable for me as it is.
-
Okay, thanks Flappie. I'll give that a try.

I ran the Logitech software to test out the controls when I first got them. But I set them in DCS. I went through the different action items and assign the ones I wanted. Then I "saved the profile" under F-18. This created a file F-18.diff.lua When I ran the program again the file was there and I selected it. But my problem is still there. Since I reloaded the game, this is the only profile file there so I don't understand what is causing the change. I was under the belief that you could create a separate file for each model of aircraft. But if I am having this much trouble with only one, I am not even going to try an map controls for any other airplanes.
-
I am having a continuing problems with mapping controls. Specifically I map the controls and save the profile. But when I return to it, everything has changed. Example: I mapped my X-56 Joystick, Throttle and Thrustmaster Rudder Pedals for the F-18. I set it up exactly how I wanted it. I flew it and everything worked fine. I quit the program. When I started it up again, I loaded the F-18 profile. But when I started a mission, nothing worked or it worked incorrectly. I mapped the thrust lever to my X-56 Throttle but when I move the throttle the thrust lever doesn't move but the cockpit joystick moves instead. Nothing works as it should. I went so far as to delete the entire program and re-downloaded and installed it again. But after mapping the controls, the same things happen again. No matter which switch, button, slider or dial I assign and save, it always is screwed up when I load it. I shouldn't have to map the controls every time I want to fly. I must be doing something wrong, but dang if I can figure out what it is.

Thanks fellas. LAlt + C did the trick. I really appreciate the help!

I just recently downloaded DCS and I think I am going to get hooked. But I have a problem that I can’t figure out. I use a Saitek X52 Pro joy stick and throttle. I have one of the china hats programed for my views (left, right, up, down, etc.) For all my installed aircraft the china hat views work fine. My problem is with the SU-25T. The china hat views work but my views also follow mouse movement. I do not get the little cross that you place on a switch or dial, so I can’t configure the cockpit per the training lessons. I’ve ensured that in the control setup area the mouse settings are cleared. But the views still follow the mouse movement. Again, this only happens with the SU-25T. All other airplanes and helicopters work as they should. If anyone can suggest a fix, I would greatly appreciate it.

I posted an issue I was having after downloading and installing DCS World. The sim seemed to install fine but my cursor is invisible. Can't see the darn thing although I know it is there and it works. I received a couple of suggestions, for which I am grateful, but they didn't work. I contacted DCS support and they had me send them a couple of files to help them troubleshoot. Haven't heard from them since. So I am going to uninstall DCS and go back to Aces High. To bad too. I really like the graphics in DCS.

Invisible cursor
badhorse replied to badhorse's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
I click on the desktop icon. The logon screen appears. My cursor is still there. The program starts up. When I get the opening screen, where you choose the terrain, airplane, options ect., my cursor disappears. -

Darn. It didn't work. I logged on and got the opening selection screen. Alt C did not make the cursor visible. Thanks for trying though fellas, I appreciate it.
