  1. lol, that was my first suggestion :music_whistling: atleast you figured it out, nothing more frustrating when you have no idea what is going wrong.
  2. If the APU is fired up then, check the cut off valves for both engines are not on (right side of the cockpit). Not much else to stop the engines starting. Also the engine rpm gauge is on the front lower right in % not actual rpm.
  3. Try introducing some fuel by increasing the throttle (just guessing as I always do this but have no idea if it actually makes a difference).
  4. Just go ahead and do the next step of opening the cut-off valve, it won't harm the engines if you do it before pressing the start button.
  5. Yep, can't fly legally here without knowing the oat, be that an onboard gauge or met forecast for varying alt's.
  6. Also someone mentioned those fins at the front help judge wind direction. I highly doubt that while in a hover those things will show wind direction all the while the downwash from the blades are beating them to death. They are cool to use for balance and VSI readings while on the move though
  7. Are you descending as well? Icing is more likely than usual during this time as you have a lower power setting. I too would like to know if their is an oat, I haven't seen mention of it yet:book:
  8. Never add collective while recovering from Vortex ring state. Either enter an auto, or use the cyclic to gain airspeed to escape your downwash. It doesn't matter if you go left, right, backwards or forwards. No that string is to help you stay in balance, it is utterly useless to judge the wind by. - As has been said, you do not want to descend at greater than 300fps below translational lift with power (read collective) applied. Kinda fun in real life while training (obvioulsy not in any other case), and BS does a good job at it, even adding the buffeting and sloppy control effects. It would be nice to have a wind sock at the helipads, I always look for it out of pure instinct when overflying the field. But it's not a big deal as they state the wind during the hover check. You just have to remember where the wind is coming from just like in real life!
