  1. I run a decent amount of campaigns and there are some great maps out there, but unfortunately a couple aren't super useful for large sections of them because of the lack of bases or airports. I was curious if it would be possible to get the ability to drop in a generic airbase template. Functional runway, parking apron, maybe some hardened shelters, and the fuel and ammo storage sites. I don't need spawn points since I can just place start-up aircraft with 'Take off from Ground' easily. Heck, it could even be as 'simple' as having a tool to convert a section of straight road like we have with Kola. Purists can not use the tool, those of us that need more than a helicopter FARP can get it.
  2. Also looking for some Tomcat drivers. We're doing training workups and a small campaign here shortly in prep for a major campaign event in the spring. We will need experienced Tomcat and Hornet drivers for this. Right now we've just got a requirement on Syria and Caucasus. Later on in the spring, though? We're going to war in Kola and it's not going to be your normal campaign. For those unfamiliar, in our campaigns your success rate matters. Fail to hit a target, go chase kills and ignore your mission, show up half-assed, then bad things happen in the campaign and the enemy starts winning more aggressively. The campaigns I run require people to work together as a team or the whole group fails. Because of the dynamic nature of these missions, you can fail a campaign, not just a mission. We are not afraid of hurt feelings this direction. We have fun and don't take ourselves too seriously, but we expect that when people show up on campaign nights that they work towards the objective. Two types of aircraft means a minimum of headaches on flight night and training rotations, with a lot of focus on developing skillsets and leaders, not just generic pilots.
  3. I run campaigns and also do screenshots captured from replays during these campaign missions. Here's some from our South Atlantic/Falklands set, 'Operation Cold Battery.'
  4. 1. A 2000km x 2000km map of the GUIK gap. One of the drawbacks from this area is the lack of operating air stations for Redfor. A proper 2k x 2k map would hit Scotland up through the Gap into Greenland and provide a lot of flying room out of Norway and possibly Sweden. The vast majority of it would be ocean and long range aircraft like the Tomcat and enemy bombers would have a lot of room to hide. This would work especially well with some planned assets on naval surface warfare. 2. The Fulda Gap. Germany in the 80's. A 500km x 500km map (or larger) would be an intense place to run. Squeeze in an area of sea at the top around Denmark for carriers and you have a very active battlefield. It would be a tac air dream - or a nightmare depending on your opinion. Its also the location most of these modules were designed to fight. 3. Vietnam. No further explanation required. 4. Kuril Islands. The Soviets captured it in World War II and refused to give four of them back to Japan. There's some dispute about that. Some people are a little sore about that. This means the Russian coastline is 18km from the Japanese home islands. A huge opportunity for BlueFor carrier and land based operations from friendly locations as well as the same for RedFor. 5. Balkans. This is one of the world's oldest flashpoints. This area could be modeled at any point in the last 70 years and you have the potential for explosive missions and campaigns. Tito vs Soviets all the way up through the more obvious issues during the 90's. I won't hold out hope for a China/Taiwan map. China would just ban the game and ED won't poke the dragon over it. Someone is already working on maps for Afghanistan and the Baltic. Honestly I would just really like to see a return to larger maps with more detail. ED got away from them due to minimum computing requirements for a wider audience. I don't know how many of you played LOMAC when it came out back in 2003, but you could fly anywhere in the Crimea and a little bit of southern Ukraine, all the way down to Georgia. There were powerplants, factories, and all sorts of strategic targets to hit. Honestly I'm just really sick of flying over brown coloring or Caucasus. I cannot express how much money I would spend for a detailed GUIK or Fulda Gap map.
  5. First post to the forums. I saw Wags' CASE III video and couldn't resist coming here and tossing this up. I posted this to YouTube back on July 2nd. Its a pure CASE III that I set up on the Persian Gulf. I made the video to try and explain what I meant to fellow pilots about the 'controlled crash' that are carrier landings. The original video was about 11.5 minutes and I narrowed this down. I turn Base and Final about 4:30. Warning: I do not have Track IR.
