  1. So I've been testing a new way to do this because it is extremely inconvenient to undesignate between targets now, and I think I found a good way to do it. The key is to remember that if a target is designated it will always overwrite the currently open TOO data (including if you switch pages after designating). It will not overwrite any other TOO stations as long as you don't open them. So the trick is to switch to the next TOO before designating the next target. The procedure is as follows: Set all stations to TOO mode and pull up MSN page TOO1 as before Designate first target with TDC depress Select TOO2 Designate second target Press STEP, station will change and the new station should have TOO1 selected Repeat 2-5 for all stations but DO NOT press STEP after the last target is designated Undesignate target and begin bombing pass Drop all stations once on TOO2 Switch all stations to TOO1 Drop remaining bombs on TOO1 For non-dual pylons disregard steps 3-4 and 8-9. Unfortunately after step 7 you will lose the targets in the targeting pod so you'll need to reacquire them if you want to watch the JDAMs or JSOWs impacting. Do not use the slew to waypoint mode or you'll overwrite the TOO data for the last station (this might work if you back out of the MSN page before doing it, I haven't tried that yet). I think this is what hein22 is describing.
  2. There is also a second altitude warning system, which is what triggers the "Altitude, altitude" audio cue. It can be set by going to HSI > DATA > A/C > WARN ALT BARO. It defaults to 5000 ft. It looks like there is also one for the radar altimeter that is set with HSI > DATA > A/C > WARN ALT RADAR. So there are a total of 3 altitude warnings you can set up - the barometric verbal warning, the radar verbal warning, and the radar beep warning.
  3. Thanks, that pretty much confirms what I have figured out. This also means that Chuck's guide has the transponder mislabeled as an "IFF transponder", which confused me for quite a bit. Yeah, that's Devrim's english cockpit mod. It's great, but it also means all the checklists and the manual don't match the labels in the cockpit anymore, which can make things tricky. Thanks! I'm not sure how I overlooked that panel but that is exactly what I was trying to find!
  4. Oh boy first post. As far as I am aware the IFF system for the Viggen is not currently implemented, and probably won't be unless ED decides to expand the game's IFF mechanics. Unfortunately, that hasn't prevented me from agonizing over what the cockpit controls for the IFF system are and how they work. So I've been scouring the forum trying to dig up as much information as I could on the Viggen's IFF, and there isn't much. However I think I've been able to piece together what the IFF/transponder panel actually does, and I would appreciate a sanity check. According to the current revision of the Heatblur Viggen manual, page 26, the red box is called the "transponder control panel" and the blue circle is called the "IFF control panel". Later in the manual, page 41-42, the blue circle is referred to as the "IFF transponder indicator". This heavily implies to me that the IFF system is separate from a transponder system, and given the panel's layout said transponder is a standard 4 digit system like you would find in any modern commercial aircraft. This is further supported by Toertchen's translations of the checklists from the actual aircraft manual. In the startup checklist there are separate steps for the IFF radio and the transponder, where the IFF radio is turned on but the transponder is kept off, which suggests they are two different things. I have no idea how to turn the IFF radio on if this is the case though, as I can't find a separate switch for it. Does anyone else know anything about the IFF/transponder system?
