Heh, I'd miss F14's too. Heck, I don't even fly them and I miss them! :P
-
Are you sure about that? I was reading the book Scream of Eagles by Robert K. Wilcox (A book about the air war in Vietnam and the mistakes the U.S. made that led to the eventual establishment of the Navy Air Warfare school "Top Gun."). Some of the first instructors that were experimenting in finding the F-4 Phantom's 'flight envelopes' ended up ejecting many, many times. I think the most was 5 times. I don't have the book with me, but I'm sure if I took the time to find it and look through it, I could cite some lines from it. Though, don't take this as I'm denying what you've said. Maybe these instructors were lucky? I personally don't know if they have any back issues, maybe they did. I'd imagine getting your spine compressed twice would be enough to harm you.

Whenever I play a mission in single player, and I complete it, I check the log book and it doesn't record my kills. It records my flight time, but not my kills. I know that I'm using my profile, and the fact that I am using my profile is proven by the fact that my flight hours are recorded. It's not really an issue, I could care less how many kills I have. As long as I'm killing and not dying. However, it would be nice to know if anybody knew what was wrong. Thanks. :) EDIT: I think I've seen this issue before in a previous thread, but I can't seem to load up the search page.

Any advice for strafing targets with the cannon or rockets? I can launch ATGM's from a distance quite well but I am terrible at strafing. I can never hold the aircraft still enough to shoot on a target accurately when strafing.
-
Harriers would be cool. But why limit it to just aircraft?
-
Yes, I am using auto target mode. I believe it's the "Q" key. I've gotten better at it. I just wasn't planning my attack well enough so I was having issues launching my weapons. I recently made a few missions and those went well as I actually thought out my plan of attack. ;)
-
I did read the manual. I couldn't seem to find exactly what I was looking for in the manual, so I asked the question on the forums. I at least try to look for an answer before I go asking for help. :P Thanks for the help, and I should probably plan my attack better. That seems to make sense.

When I setup any mission that requires me to launch ATGMs against any target I have issues flying the KA-50 safely into the launch parameters of the Vikhr ATGM. So I have a question: There are two circles on the HUD when I'm about the fire an ATGM. There is where my reticule is pointing on the shkval and a second circle (I forget what its called). Do I have to keep this second circle reticule over what I've designated to fire the Vikhr? It seems like only when the two reticules are lined up that I can fire the Vikhr. The issue I have been having is that I put myself into dangerous situations trying to get the reticules lined up. (Dangerous situations being that at certian altitudes I end up having to pitch my aircraft at extreme angles which at one point caused my rotors to simply break off.)

I know the UH-60 quite well too. They fly over my house daily, and sometimes in such large groups the noise wakes me up. Quite a few Apaches fly over my house, and they are indeed very quiet. If they are flying low enough, you wont even see or hear them them until they are so close you can see the pilots. You can heard them at high altitudes, but it's still quiet.

Okay, I tried this. I've got mouse-view now :smilewink: Well, with me. I cant use mouse-view unless I press LAlt-C, but in the training flights i do have a clickable cockpit as well as mouse-view. I'm not sure why, but this happens only when I take control of the shark in training flights.
-
Simply as the title says. Are there better ways to remember the entire start up procedure? I have issues starting up the chopper cause half the time I forget to flick a switch or press a button. Should I just force myself to do the training mission over and over and over again until I get it right, or is there a better way to remember the whole start-up procedure? Sorry for all the newbie questions that I've posted lately, lol
-
Okay, Thanks everybody! ;) Um, I don't mean to be bothersome though, I just don't feel like creating a whole new topic for this [newbie] question, but, does anybody know how let me turn the camera using my mouse (mouse-view)? Whenever I take control in a training flight, I have mouse view but in editor missions I cant use the mouse to look.

So collective is the angle of the blades, and the throttle controls how fast the rotor(s) spin?
-
What exactly is the collective. In FSX, the collective is basicaly the throttle, but in BS there are separate commands for the collective and the Throttle. I don't exactly know what the collective is anymore, help?

God, that'll be worse than the "KA-50 vs. AH-64D" fights I found in the comments box on youtube Black Shark videos. Lol, I play lots of America's Army, I almost never go on the forums cause of the little arguements that break out. :D
-
lol, actually, now that you meantion it (about the airsoft guys). I've gone paintballing with a couple Green Berets, learned quite a few tips from them, I play the game much better now :P I've also played against the Army Marksmanship Unit, I got my @$$ sniped any time I decided to peek out of cover. Anyway, I do understand what you mean.
-
Well, I'm not in the Army, but I do live next to (and technically in) Fort Campbell Army Air Base. I'm here cause my father is military, assigned to the 101st Airborne Division. That's why I have the "Screamin' Eagle" as my forum avatar. I completely support what he does in the military, and respect what everybody does in the (and their) military/militaries.
-
Hmm, good info to know. Thanks
-
Okay, the results from deleting the default assignment and reassigning the slider were not good. The collective is still unresponsive.

If I may just add, I was born in Furth a small town out side of Nurmberg, later went down to an area by Wiesbaden known as Dexhiem. Nice little rural/suburban area. But now I'm here in the States
-
No, sir, I have not, I'll try that later and post the results. by later, I mean a time when I'm not up waaaay past what I consider "bed-time." lol

What I'm worried about is the 6-pin connector. My current powersupply doesn't have one, either that or I cant find it. I'm sure I can run it (well at least now I know it will), but without that 6-pin, I dont think I can.
-
Yeah, the rest of the miltary services kind of get on the pilots...until they need that airstrike, then the pilot instantly becomes God. :D

Are you saying, I can run the 8600GT with my curent PSU? Also, the PSU I plan on buying as gotten great reviews.
