Can you explain the in game knee board function? Keys etc. Can I import my own Checklists? If do where do I place them and in what format/

Finally got into the jet F-18. And WOW. Blown away with the immersion. I feels as if I'm actually flying due to the stomach churns during rolls etc. I was So worried about the screen door effect beforehand. To be honest I hardly notice it. I'm going to have to setup voice control for the radios. I used to use VAC (voice activated commands) ages ago so need to get that setup. One thing I'm going to miss is paper checklists. I normally fly with then in front of me. Stuff like approach charts. How do you get those into VR? I think I read that there's a popup knee board? Any advise?

Thank's. I've gone and bought a Rift bundle. Last night the price was £399 (Argos UK) Today it is £350. That 50 quid tipped me over the edge. Could have bought it 2nd hand but didnt want to risk buying someone else's crap. Now Probably the Hard Part setting up for DCS. If anyone would care to point me in the right direction? how to use the mouse or hand held controllers or Hotas for clicking switches. My specs for the important stuff. I7 8700k... 1080ti & 16gb ram Saikek X65FF

Can I ask what is the reason you get 2 sensors if only one works?

That may be a problem as they’d have to be the width of my monitor apart. I could move the right one further away but my head would no longer be central.

Thinking of buying the rift but I have concerns about the sensor positioning. I fly DCS in a converted attic in the eves. The only place for the sensors would be either side of the monitor. Let’s say 3ft apart and top of monitor height so around 4ft from the ground. They would also have to be level with the monitor in depth ie say 3ft away from my head. I had a look at the rifts website and it doesn’t give much detail about sensor positioning. But it did mention setting head height in settings. As I would only be using it behind a desk what would that setting be? I guess 4ft. Anyone see a problem?

Thanks for all your help guys. Got it working with a combination of All of your advise by moving the Pred almost over the target. Even though it was only 4 miles away. Ticking the visible box. giving it a waypoint etc etc. Must admit.... What a pain in the arse it was compared to a ground based JTAC. And it's still buggy. My 1st introduction into the black art of DCS scripting has been "emotional" Only the Brtits will get that one! Maybe? I need to study this black art. Point me to the goto page of this please. I thought the Visible option was for The enemy can see the Predator. But I'll give it a try. Yeah there is a shared Pred mission. But I corrupted it. And forgot to save the orriginal :doh: And cant remember where I got it from. :doh: :doh:

Tried adding way points and I got to the point where attack was authorized. Then terminate. Now it's all screwed up sometimes it won't lase. sometimes it will. I'd appreciate if someone could provide a file with predator that works with AGM65E so I can pick the bones and see what is needed. I have Nevada and the Gulf also It's getting to the point that I'm spending valuable flying time trying to fix this because it annoys the **** out of me!

Here are the instructions for target group

Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong trying to get the Predator to Lase my target group? I can get a ground based JTAC to lase without problem. When I contact the Predator I get a 9 line either with a "no mark" comment. Sometimes I get the full read back including the "marked by laser 1688". That's where it ends I get no further coms. The Mav E can't detect a target and zero coms from the Pred. Here's my advanced waypoint actions. Can anyone tell me what line to add etc? I'm new to the DCS mission editor as far as "where the magic happens" Thanks Alligin. Edit..... Thank you for moving me to the correct forum. And sorry for posting in the wrong one :-)

Just want to say thanks. Ive been pulling my hair out for an hour as to why my default view was stuck on the right wing after pressing a few keys on the numpad.... Unchecked "User snap-view saving" View is now back to normal...... Centered! For once the search function worked. I can now fly for an hour instead of trying to fix the problem on my own :thumbup:

As per the title. I want to practice with the Mav E. But I don’t know how to setup a JTAC or Drone. Anyone got a mission I could use? Or maybe tell me how to set a JTAC or Drone to Lase for me? Thanks Alligin

What utility do you lot use to monitor the performance or bottlenecks of your pc while flying? Can any record while flying so you can review later? Thanks Alligin

Need help, new to DCS and need to build a system Can only answer 2 questions. You need 16gb of Ram. On my old pc I had 10 and a monitor showed 9.8 being used. And that was with every little extra process switched off. And I expect the page file was being used heavily. I would say yes also to a ssd. With a normal hard drive DCS takes an age to load. Ssd made a Massive difference in load times when I switched

Hi I’m installing windows 10 for the 1st time but I don’t like 10’s interface. I’d like to keep it as a win7 interface for the time being while I’m installing everything. (It’s what I’m used to[emoji3]) I’ve heard there’s a patch to change it to look/act like 7? Any links? Also I’m new to Nvidia. For the last 20 years I’ve used ATI cards. I’ve switched to a 1080ti Any recommendations on what Nvidia software I should install? Control panel, that sort of stuff. It’s mainly a DCS system so any help with utilities would be great. I have 1080ti and i7 8700k At the moment I’m using 2 monitors for DCS 1920/1080. Any advice? Thanks Alligin.

I noticed your sig your cpu cooler is a Noctua NH-D15. Did you have any problems with the duel fans on that monster obscuring any RAM slots or Graphics slot?
