  1. The DCS Spitfire should come with a free DH. 82 Tiger Moth that only unlocks the Spitfire module after you've flown it for a year. :pilotfly:
  2. I've always thought a pair of binos for the pilot might be good. Attack pilots IRL have been reduced to using these in Desert Storm and Allied Force (probably it's a regular thing for all I know) because vehicles on the ground were so hard to spot. A Harrier GR3 pilot from the Falklands war has also said that spotting even a hastily camouflaged enemy artillery position was nigh on impossible, even when the position was known from intel (and much ordnance was expanded on various hillsides trying to get them - which they never did BTW).
  3. Yes, any early second world war aeroplanes would be great. Anything 1939-1943. I find 1944-45 uninteresting.
  4. I used to be able to press F6 after releasing a weapon to follow it down to impact. That key no longer functions. I have done a repair and also cleared and remapped F6 in the controls. Still no joy. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?
  5. Sorry, but I think it's awful. It's far too slow and dreamy. It certainly doesn't evoke an image of the most awesomely powerful warships ever built (pace SSBNs) for me at all. I replaced it immediately with the U.S. Navy band playing a stirring rendition of "Anchors Aweigh". That said; I should mention, though, that I love the Supercarrier module. It's the most fantastic thing I've ever had on my P.C. Well done E.D.!
  6. On the real P-51 you can gauge your AoA by the whistle as the air flows across the muzzles of the guns. Never heard that on the DCS P-51.
  7. The DCS aeroplane doesn't start following the procedure in the original pilot's notes. The notes say to move the cut off control forward into the RUN position before hitting the booster coil and starter, then pump away at the primer until the engine runs smoothly. This procedure doesn't work on the DCS aeroplane as the engine never catches. This video shows MH434 (which is the aircraft modelled by DCS) being started as per the pilot's notes (ignore the commentary. The narrator gets it wrong - the cut off is clearly fully forward):
  8. The animated deck crew look really great. I always think the current carriers look so deserted. I wonder if we'll get a thumbs up and a salute anim for the F-18 pilots too.
  9. The new localizations seem to have gone a bit wrong too. After the move some of the text in the mission briefings is in Hangul (Korean). The carrier takeoff mission in the Hornet, for example.
