Yes I would a agree Single core performance is king in DCS. I have a test I do where I fly around downtown Dubi. I see it drop below the acceptable 45fps that motion reprojection forces, It will drop to around 35fps and become studdery most noticable when looking sideways. When this is happening I see about 35% cpu usage and 75% gpu usage. If i look at individual cores they are all even at 35%... so where's the bottleneck? What's happening with the CPU? Is the CPU just dividing a 2 core load amongst all the cores? I have a 5.0ghz 8700k with HT OFF 32gigs ram and a 1080ti

Its probably a result of binning. The new chip, not all are gonna be good enough for the 2080ti super, so they make a new lower end sku for the sub par chips.

Also keep an eye out for the 9900KS, its an all core 5.0ghz version of the 9900K

Not sure why "60fps" keeps getting thrown around. I have the O+ and am ordering the Reverb, I have no worries about the performance thanks to motion reprojection that limits it to 45fps instead of the standard 90fps. I can assure you, locked at 45fps its smooth as butter. (But higher res you say), still not concerned as the the resolution/ss multiplier being forced on the O+ is equal to or higher than what it will be set to on the reverb. I would wait to see how the performance is before you upgrade. That Oclocked 6700k might surprise you!

Its actually great news for me, I had it set way higher LOL! I should see a performance increase. Ill have to reassess the image quality to see If I see an improvement. Thank you. Also where are you getting the 1.43888 and 1.61375 numbers from? PS I plan to order a Reverb just as soon as I see one in stock!

Yes this helps, I understand the idea of the 1.4x to make up for the fish eye but not the math. How are you arriving at 2076x2592 being optimal?

I'm trying to follow this but cannot, I have the O+ and at 100% mine reports 1744x2180. 1.4x what? I should be shooting for 1.4x1440 and 1.4x1600 for a final resolution? Which is 2016x2240. The closest I can get is 134% that= 2020x2524.

I do think you are reaching a bit with the hypoxia/priming/attention/lies/jamming/poor/addiction/swamp gas theory you are going with (OK I added swamp gas). You should start making a list of all the witnesses and putting what you think their motive/mistake is. Should be a long list by the end of the docuseries . If you want to keep the same Mobo, pick up a used 3770k cpu, a used additional 8gb ram (2x4), and a used gtx1070. Otherwise I would just do a complete new build.

You might be right but then again I haven't seen a review both of those cards with DCS as one of the tests. Most games don't Tapout the entirety of the vram like DCS does.

I think about this scenario the most however I already think we have been visited. My concern is the proverbial "landing on the white house lawn" which I think will be in the form of a presidential address (initially). I think we are in the pre presidential address time right now with a controlled disclosure. I belive a lot of our behavior can be predicted from looking at resent disasters, 9/11, Katrina come to mind. Most will act appropriate but some will not. I predict people absent from work causing the most issues. Gas and energy shortages/disruption, law infocment shortages, market disruption, food shortage. Hopefully just initially. Afterward the blame game will start, "why withhold this information and the wonderful tech that could have helped the suffering". The lawyers will have their hands full with lawsuits if "those in the know" are found out and some how benefited from the tech or knowledge. O It will be a rollercoaster ride like never seen before. I recomend everyone do the most basic of prepping. Keep vehicals full of fuel, 2 weeks rations, small dual fuel generator, gas can, propain bottles.
