Update the DLSS preset used by DCS to remove ghosting
BlackReef replied to sleighzy's topic in General Bugs
So I set the preset to J in the DLSS tweaker, I copy over files to BIN-MT, but in game, it shows the preset as C. Any ideas? FWIW: When DLSSTweaker asks what to name the file, I chose ngnx.dll this time instead of dxgi.dll Reason being, it was conflicting with reshade. Reshade also use dxgi.dll And boy did I go down a rabbit hole trying to get them to work together. -

Has anybody noticed a conflict with Reshade and DLSSTweaks? I think they are both trying to use the nginx.dll file -
I'm running: 4070ti i7 14700k 32" Samsung 4k G8 oled I've set FPS limit in DCS to 120. The refresh rate for the monitor is 240. I do get pretty smooth movements with head tracking in MSFS 2020, but DCS there's always like some type of small screen tearing or something. I watch videos of other people with less hardware than I have in their head movements are very smooth. I've tried all kinds of track IR5 profiles. I use Spudknocker now but I don't think the issue has anything to do with the profile. I think there is some type of mismatch between the refresh rate of my monitor, the refresh rate of the track IR, the the frame rate, even though they're all divisible by 60 or 30. I've tried turning down the refresh rate on the monitor. I've tried turning the frame rate to 60 FPS in DCS. It overall looks decently smooth but I'm OCD and trying to get that butter smooth look that I see in so many other people set ups. It actually makes a big difference and a dog fight when you're looking left to right quickly and it seems to have some screen tear or something. Maybe I've just maxed out all my graphics settings for the hardware I have. Maybe a 5080 will fix that?

Update the DLSS preset used by DCS to remove ghosting

Question. When this officially comes out on the 30th, DLSS4, will I still need to manually update DCS with the latest DLL file? -
I have a question and I'm a bit confused. I have a 4070ti. I'm on nvidia 566.36 drivers and DLSSTweaks v0.200.8.0 - Should I upgrade to the latest version of DLSSTweaks? Or does it not matter as long as I manually place the DLL file in the game directory? I'm confused on the purpose of this app. - If I manually add the DLSS 4 file to DCS, how do I change the presets, especially if I am not using the DLSSTweaks app? - Will DLSS 4 be released on 1/30/25 anyways? If that's the case, I can just update through Nvidia app right? - Can I leverage DLSS swapper app at all, or is that an app that simply just puts the .DLL file in the game for you, which I can do manually anyways..? Thank you!

Where do I get the latest DLL? And when did it release? Thank you

I am noticing significantly more ghosting with the latest DCS update. Im on nvidia 566.36 and DLSSTweaks v0.200.8.0, setting "F"

I’ve been struggling to achieve smooth head movements with TrackIR despite trying everything I can think of. My setup includes a 4070 Ti, an i7-14700K, and a 32" Samsung G8 OLED 4K monitor running at 240Hz. My frame rate in DCS is consistently above 100fps, and everything looks smooth—mouse movements, general visuals, etc.—but as soon as I start moving my head with TrackIR, it’s noticeably less smooth, almost like it’s running at 20-30Hz in comparison. I’ve tried setting my monitor to 120Hz to match, but it hasn’t helped. I’ve gone through the last four versions of the TrackIR software, adjusted settings everywhere to ensure consistency (120fps and 60fps tests in NVIDIA Control Panel, graphics.lua, and in-game), and experimented with V-Sync on and off. I’ve also tried multiple TrackIR profiles and am currently using Spudknocker’s. However, I don’t think it’s an issue with the profile itself—it seems more like a mismatch with refresh rate or frame rate, or something. I see creators like Growling Sidewinder with buttery smooth head tracking, and I’m trying to achieve that same fluidity. If anyone has insights or tips on where this mismatch might be occurring, I’d greatly appreciate it! Id be happy to post a video for reference. Or a screenshot of graphics settings. Thank you for your time

I'm experiencing an issue with a DDS afterburner file not reflecting any changes in DCS World, despite editing it in Photoshop and exporting with the NVIDIA Texture Tools plugin. The modified texture appears correct in Photoshop, and I rezip the files and place them back in the correct directory, but I see no changes in the sim. I've ensured the export settings, including format and mipmap generation, are correct, but the edits still don't apply. I'm seeking advice on troubleshooting this issue and ensuring the DDS file works correctly in DCS. FWIW the plane is VSN YF-12A (Blackbird). I belive it's connected to FC3. Thanks.

Did you ever figure this out? I am trying to change the DDS afterburner image of the SR-71 and when I can not get it to update in-sim. It keeps showing the original afterburner. And yes I do the plugin with Photoshop to edit DDS files. I save it and re-zip it and place it in the correct directory. Any ideas?

I believe this is correct. That's what I did Thanks, so if I do not use DLSSTweaksConfig to choose preset, how do I choose preset then? Is it as simple as in DCS I go to graphic options in-sim? Quality → Preset E Performance → Preset F

Now that I have placed the latest nvngx_dlss.dll in my bin-mt and bin directory, can I remove the DLSSTweaksConfig app? It's confusing me bcause I have the 3.8.10 DLL file in the bin/bin-mt folders now but if I open DLSSTweaksConfig App, it is still showing me preset options A,B,C,D,E,F,G
