1. I'd hoped they'd've fixed this with the latest OpenBeta update to 2.7.4.9847 but it persists. And it includes the stock SU-27 - has no nose cone nor canopy.
2. Sorry, WinOrLose, I have no fix and I have the same issue. Thought it might've been because I have several "custom" hangars - A-10's, F/A-18's, Harrier, even the B-17. Then I checked the default SU-27 and yep, it's missing the canopy and a bunch of other parts. Hopefully ED will sort this out as it's really nice, immersive even to start from a hangar loaded with the plane I'm currently flying. At least the clouds aren't jittering in VR any more so that's a good thing.
3. I have several custom scenes for the VR Hangar. They've always worked perfectly featuring the F/A-18, B-17, A-10, Harrier etc - I have loads. All fine until 2.7.3. Now when I load one of them, pieces of the aircraft are missing. For example, there may be no canopy on the F/A-18 or F-14. Pieces of the fuselage may not be there. The stock SU-27 seems fine though. Is there something new I need to put in the .lua?
4. Mine works fine now - I'm using the Non-Steam DCS World Open Beta (8 July 2021 - just installed the Marianas map) I grabbed the headtracker.dll from the Tobii app directory/folder and copied it into my DCS bin folder (where the DCS.exe is). From then on, it worked perfectly. Before I did that, I ran the Tobii app using administrator privileges - no good. Renamed the DCS World OpenBeta to DCS World too - no good. Once I had simply copied that dll over, I renamed my DCS folder back to DCS World and found still that everything worked perfectly. Bloody brilliant app, by the way - I much prefer to TrackIR.
5. I don't remember how many times I disassembled my TM Warthog HOTAS joystick trying to make it less stiff. The best fix I used to have was replacing the 4 small springs with longer ones. But still too stiff. I'd relate to the tension I can feel in the joystick of my friend's actual aircraft and also to the movement I see in in-cockpit videos of Hornet pilots etc. So eventually I went ahead and splurged 41 Euro on the green spring from Sahaj: https://warthog-extensions-by-sahaj.com/shop/warthog-green-springs/. It arrived about 3 weeks after I ordered it. Sahaj is in Poland, I'm in Australia. I installed it yesterday and it's perfect. There's good recentering still and the effort to flip the A-10C II from side to side is much less. I was pelting through gullies in Syria with much, much greater accuracy and now it's actually fun, not a mission to go for a flight. Add that to the new clouds in DCS Open Beta 2.7 and flying in VR and I believe I now have the perfect A-10 (and Harrier and Hornet) set up. By the way, before buying Sahaj's spring, I commissioned a local spring maker to make me a lighter spring. They quoted me $80AUD (51 Euro) which is more expensive than Sahaj's - or about the same when you consider freight) plus - they weren't able to get their machine to do it anyway. Definitely consider getting Sahaj's green spring - well worth it!
6. We do do what we must do to have the best possible experience, don't we, Lange?! I agree, worth the spend to get it "just right". I've flown a bunch since my last reply - man, that spring made such a difference. Great conversation, mate. Thank you and enjoy the flying!
7. Thanks, Lange_666. I do love that green spring. Terrific value for money considering the vast improvement it made to that Warthog joystick. I can't figure why Thrustmaster even released a stick that inappropriate for delicate maneuvers such as formation flying, air refueling or accurate strafing, especially considering the price point. Everything else on it is great...
8. Hey guys That's awesome about the Virpil base, Lange_666. Before buying the green spring that was the way I was going to go. But the thing's unavailable - on back order. I was happy to spend the 189.95 Euro too. I decided then to buy the green spring and, as I mentioned totally love it. Such a game changer/improver for me! But As you've given the Virpil base such a good review, when it is back in stock I just might grab one after all
9. G'day, Max One of the very first things I did when trying to reduce this joystick's stiffness was to take the base apart and sand and grease. There are a few YouTube vid's out there which can show you how. Mostly though, they seem to be trying to address the "sticktion" issue. I didn't have that but went through the process anyway. I don't recall it made much difference. I wish I'd just got Sahaj's green spring first - would probably have saved me having to go through all that. I don't use an extension. I've got a kind of virtual cockpit rig; it's perfect, especially for VR which is how I normally fly - see the pic I've attached. When I had the frame modified I had the welder put a central post between my legs to bolt the Warthog joystick to. I thought about an extension but realised that the seat of my chair might get in the way of aft movement of an extension so decided not to get one. I don't think I need an extension but Cap from the Grim Reapers channel loves his (he has a Win Wing system) after getting used to the significant increase in throw. I hope all that helps. I must say that my love of DCS and virtual flight has been utterly amplified now I have a joystick that's a pleasure. The last few years I've always "put up with" my stick just because it's an exact A-10 replica and has the best button and trigger layout and overall feel-in-hand on the market. Now I completely enjoy every flight. All the best Chris

11. Original post below: I found that once the mod's have approved the post, the line spacing is there after all. Just not whilst pending. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Hi all Just started uploading skins. I found that when I entered text in the description field that I couldn't have my sentences separated by a line break when I viewed my post. I added
but that just showed up as, well,
. Could anybody please let me know how to separate my sentences? Thanks very much
12. =52d=Skip, thanks a bunch! I followed your link and have it sorted now. Just completed another skin - will upload just as soon as I'm sure there are no bugs...
13. Sadly, Urbi it didn't work. I've attached a pic of the pilot's noggin despite the new "false" statement and also attached the updated .lua. I think there has to be a mention of the Pilot_AV8B_gear.dds elsewhere in the .lua but it's kinda beyond me. If you'd kindly have another look, I'd be very grateful. Thanks again, mate description.lua
14. Thank you very much, Urbi. I'll set to "false" when I get home and update the post confirming the result.
15. Hi guys Just finished my first ever start-to-finish Harrier livery. (Yay!) I'm struggling with getting the helmet logo to show up though - don't know the line to add in the description.lua. I've attached the lua - the .dds was too big to attach but is called Pilot_AV8B_gear Once that's done, I can upload this bugger. Thanks very much description.lua
16. Thanks for the fast replies, guys! I now understand how moving triggers work. Toutenglisse - your Inside Zone and Outside Zone makes perfect sense and is so easy to implement! I went with Rudel's solution though - I like that the player can park anywhere. Works perfectly now :)
17. I've tried with "Moving Trigger Zones" but it didn't work... I'm looking for a way to cause a "mission end event" when the player has landed back at the moving aircraft carrier, taxied to Elevator 2, and stopped. So they take off, fulfill the mission objectives, fly back, land, park, and a few moments later, after a congratulatory message and music, the mission ends. If I can get this to work then maybe I can set up a zone that trails the carrier at 1 mile to trigger a "Call The Ball" message too... Thanks guys
18. SOLVED (Thanks, Sierra99) So I'm populating the supercarrier deck with a lot of AI FA-18C's to keep the PC load manageable. But there are only 3 skins for these. And of course, I'd like MY squadron's home-made skin on them. Does anybody know if there's a template or has anybody on this forum perhaps made one they could upload? A photoshop file maybe? The AI livery layers are totally different from the module's and naturally I've tried them - you can assign a custom skin but it doesn't "clothe" the aircraft. Thanks very much and all the best
19. OK, DERacing. Here you go. It includes the F-14 that I asked about on this post. They include the A-10A, Harrier, FA-18 and F-14B. Maybe let me know what you think. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1L-_vyJdxq59HfvYBF5UJL1huvZH7FQ2e/view?usp=sharing Edit: this link previously needed my permission for you guys to download - should be ok to click on and get now. If not, pls let me know.
20. SOLVED Previous post: "I've made a few VR Hangars with the aircraft I fly. I like them with the canopy open and no pilots in the plane. Normally, I can fiddle around in ModelViewer to get the right settings. I can't find a "no pilot" setting though. Well, I can get rid of the pilot with 115, 1 but the RIO still sits there waiting for his friend to arrive. I can't find a setting for no RIO. Does anybody know what numbers to enter? Thanks very much" SOLUTION scene.m:setArgument(472, 0.606); -- no RIO
21. Guys, you're absolutely right. Now it works perfectly. I've set up a flight of AI aircraft for each coalition for the player to fight against. Thanks very much!
22. Thanks for the fast replies, guys! I tried the client skill level for both and for one pilot. You're right, you do get the choice. However, when the mission starts, if you F2 through, you'lll see that there's no opponent plane. I've attached a link to a very simple mission I put together using Caucasus and the free aircraft so you can see that I've done that. Please have a look and see if there's something else I need to do. https://www.dropbox.com/s/45xamlvs0yghqk7/Coalition%20choice.miz?dl=0
23. I downloaded the excellent Test_Normandy_Template mission : https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=162976&d=1495923217 and really liked how the player got to choose which team they wanted to be on. I couldn't work out how he did it though. I opened the mission in ME and I'm sure I looked at every single section of it - I must have missed something - could somebody please let me know what it was? This would be a great way for a player to see, from one created mission, what it's like to fly fighters from each side without having to quit out and select a new mission.
24. Awesome, graspee! I have rudder pedals too and found that when I unchecked the "auto rudder" box I could use the rudder to make lateral corrections too. I also tweaked the rudder axis so that it's now far less sensitive and has a larger dead zone. The plane's now much nicer to fly - I actually enjoy it! Thanks again, mate.
