That's exactly what I'm doing. Thanks Greb. You...da...man  -
You got to try this one....yeah another JTAC mission!

Greb...maybe you can answer this. What is the best practice for when you get JTAC target information: enter it in the CDU or hook and set to to SPI in the TAD? I kind of like the TAD and have been doing that with your missions. -
Flew the SP Hawq Hunt a couple days ago...really well done. One question thought: how do I know that the mission is completed. I reduced most forces to a pile of smoking wreckage and stayed on station of a couple of orbits. Didn't see any more vehicles and just decided to RTB.

Greb, As a noob pilot who is just now learning JTAC, thanks very much for the work you put in. I really appreciate it.

...damn...and I'm stuck at work. Totally agree with genbrien...can someone cut and paste the patch notes. The first one to do so gets a cookie.

That is a bit odd. I thought the max altitude for the SA-15 was 10000ft? Boy...I was kind of off if it's 20. What is also weird is that they even engaged me at 100ft.

Wow...I can't just break this site I created. I've tried coming in high, coming in really low (NOE) and I still manage to get nailed. Hmmm...can an A-10 take on a battery of four 9A331's as described above? I'm wondering if I'm being realistic with this scenario? I'm wondering if a couple of F-16 on an SEAD mission would take out those for me if this were a "real mission".
-
I'm certainly attempting to take those SA-15s out. I do get the drop on them but as soon as I launch a Mav at them, they shoot in down, and then promptly attempt to get me as well ;) I'm approaching the site at about 12000 feet, using the LITENING to set everything up. All goes well until I launch.

bumpy bumpy ;)

So I made something like this one: SA-15 Gauntlet "TOR" battery structure: 4 missile launcher 9A331 1 command center 9S737MK* 2 missile transport truck (Ural-43203) 9T244** 1 transport truck (Ural-43203) 9T245 1 technical service truck (Ural-43203) 9W887 1 service part truck (Ural-43203) 9F339 1 camouflage system part truck (Ural-43203) 9F116 I couldn't find some of those vehicles, but I made due. I didn't do so well against to SA-15 (9A331). I'm thinking I was waaaay to high when I attacked them. I've attached a track. Any hints on how to hit those missile launchers? ooops.trk

Awesome info guys. I'll get to work right away on fixing up what I have...cause I wasn't even close ;)

Hey All, I'm fiddling around with the mission editor and trying to create myself a training mission. What I'd like to do is practice attacking a defensive site consisting of SAMs and AAA threats...and maybe with a couple of soft targets that are being protected by these assets. I'm a bit ignorant of what a good defensive site looks like...can any of you offer some suggestions of some good units to place for training purposes? Cheers.

Startup Procedure "OMG" What have I been missing?
darrenl replied to TwoLate's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I know that I can never play a sim again that doesn't have the startup procedure like those found in Black Shark and A-10...guess that's why FC2 didn't stick :music_whistling: -
I started using this last night...very helpful. What's been updated since the last version? Thanks for you efforts ;)

I have the exact same issue here. I find I have to lean forward quite a bit in order to see the bottom display information on the HUD, eg. Heading. Since we can adjust our seat, is this just an issue of raising the seat?
-
My first impression is that the game is extremely impressive. I saw the word "beta" and cringed a bit...I mean, really, do you want to beta a complex sim like this? But, this thing is ready to ship now IMHO. ...I'm soooo lost in the complexity of it all right now, but that is part of the fun. Total must buy for anyone who is a DCS fan.
-
Hmmm...I don't think I had the throttle engaged when this issue started occurring, but you have me doubting myself so I shall try again and pay close attention to that detail. Thanks Viper.
-
Anyone else having trouble starting the engines in the start up mission? I was working the first time I tried it, but I think when I reconfigured my CH Throttle to control my throttle (JOY_Z), that it broke using the ALT-HOME key shortcut somehow. I double checked my hotkeys and they're still mapped correctly. ...at a loss.

Thanks for the pointers guys. I did some more reading and it looks like, yes, this is just the way the aircraft behaves. It probably also couples with my obsessive need for perfect straight and level fight which...it looks like...is not possible with the KA-50, i.e I either get a slight slip or I'm slightly banked. Got to readjust my expectations. Turns out, given this info, I'm not that bad of a pilot after all. I just have to practice my turns which I seem to always overcompensate for in terms of rudder input.
-
Hey All, I've noticed that when I'm flying, that the position indicator is off-center and to the left after I get the aircraft in straight and level flight (...indicator "diamond" is also forward for getting my airspeed up as well...). It seems that the aircraft wants to tilt to the right a bit, which I think is why I'm seem to always be trimmed off center and the the left. :joystick: I'm using a full CH Joystick set up and everything seems to be calibrated...so I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas as to why I'm seeing this behavior. Thanks, D

Thanks for all of your responses all...very appreciated. Looks like all I need to do is map the axis in the game and use one of these profiles. Awesome
-
Oh...I can program it...no worries. Within the options of Black Shark itself....I have all the axis set up and am able to fly the aircraft without any issue. I'm just wondering what the point of CH Manager is when I can fully configure everything inside the sim anyway :joystick:
-
Very cool Emmer...I wish I was that crafty :) I do have a question about the CH profiles. If I can setup the profile within Black Shark itself (...which I've done for basic flight movements and trim so far...), then why do I need the CH Manager?
-
Well..it finally arrived and, wow. First, the controllers are just bigger than I thought. Second, I've suddenly forgotten how to fly the black shark ;). Finding I need to retrain myself with all of the new fanciness that is my CH setup.
-
I just pulled the trigger on the CH Fighter Stick, pedals and throttle. Been going back and forth on what HOTAS to get (X52 vs G940 vs CH.../dizzy) and decided to get this set. ...thought I share with my fellow flight-sim crowd :joystick:
