  1. Oh, I didn't know that was a known issue... Sorry, I'm fairly new to the black shark and thought all issues should be resolved. What cockpit mod is that? Can you share a link?
  2. Hey, I've also posted on reddit, but since discovered further issues, so I'm posting this with further details. ALSO: this is absolutely not about the lighting system in general, so please hold back on the rants about this. Everything I talk about, I have seen working for other people. The first problem: neither the landing lights of the hornet, nor the spotlight of the black shark do illuminate the ground. I can turn them on, but see no light at all in the hornet. In the black shark I can see the light on the external model, but no spot on the ground. Also in the black shark I discovered, that none on the status lights in the cockpit light up, and this is really annoying, since you need to zoom in like hell to see what's on or off. See picture attached. I habe seen the landing light of the hornet working for others, the black shark spotlight is also supported to be working. And the button lights of the black shark are also supposed to distinctly change their appearance (i.e. Light up) when you enable or disable them. What can I do to make these things work?
  3. Would you mind to explain what exactly you are doing on this project? ;)

    RWR Filters?

You'll maybe find the Offset (2nd button from left) and the Limit (2nd button from right) on the ALE 47 control panel helpful. Offset spreads the displayed contacts and avoids overlapping. Limit shows only the highest few threats. I always use both the these functions, no point in having a million rwr returns, most important are the most threatening. ;)
  5. Dude... I actually never thought about that... But the HMD could overlay all known contacts, like all known enemies would be super easy to find, but at least all data link contributing friendlies could be easily identified by simply looking at them... Technically the hornet would have the ability, radar contacts can be overlayed. It would be a shame if no one thought of that when designing the hornet... That would be situational awareness heaven.
  6. Exactly that. And even this system is not bad... The 1070 is not a cheap card. I think the steam hardware survey showed a 1060 as average gpu.... I would really appreciate if ED would showcase some settings with these kind of low end systems... Because DCS is really not a shiny example of performance. Not to sound too negative, DCS is awesome! But on my system, recent AAA games run at almost double FPS and still look far better. Given, the planes look absolutely beautiful, but trees and gound are especially ugly, but eat most of the performance.
  7. Why would you recenter the elevation? I always use the altitude induction above and below the cursor to adjust the radar to scan the airspace I want it to scan. Wouldn't a centered elevation setting lead to the radar scanning the ownship altitude?
  8. Hi, I've got a question regarding ground attacks. 1) I remember jello from the fighter pilot podcast said that with the JHMCS you could look at a target on the ground and designate that point as target. This is not possible at the moment in DCS. Will this be implemented, or is the JHMCS completed? I think the JHMCS is pretty useless, excluding the use in combination with the 9X of course. 2) the rectangle/diamond around locked targets in air to air mode can also be seen outside the HUD through the JHMCS. This is not true for designated ground targets, is this correct? Similar to question 1 I think it would be a huge advantage to be able to designate and see targets with the JHMCS... Especially if the ccip line would also be projected. 3) in some videos on YouTube or where ever you can see the pilot inputting 9-line data from jtac into the ufc. Is there some kind of CAS page in the DDI or is it just creating a waypoint at the specific coordinates? 4) waypoints are inputted in the UFC as deg, min, sec. But displayed in the HSI as deg, min. with minutes in decimal. I know this has been talked about before but is there any news if that's also like this in RL, or if this will be changed in the future and how? Thanks in advance and best regards from Germany, which might be buying hornets for their airforce to replace tornados.... What a time to be alive.. Sadly km too old to join the forces..
  9. I wanted to add my opinion for the OP. I started flying in DCS not that long ago. I've had experience with aviation in the real world (with glider planes) and been flying aims like fsx and xplane for years. So I didn't have to learn about the aerodynamics, or call it physics of flying. But DCS is the most advanced Sim regarding the system depth I've ever seen. But I think the hornet is a pretty easy to learn plane. It doesn't have a million switches and all systems there are now are pretty well designed and self explanatory most of the time. And a big bonus is: ED adds systems consecutively so you can learn one thing after another. DON'T make the mistake and buy fc3 aircraft. They are fun to fly, but learning the systems and employ the whole plane the right way is a pain because you need to learn keybindings that make no sense. It's far easier to have logically positioned switches in the pit. And the hornet does this very well. There are other planes, if you want a/g only, go for the A10... The Harrier is very interesting because of its flying characteristics, but mostly a faster A10 with a little more A/A capabilities. The hornet in my opinion is the most multi role aircraft there is in dcs. It can do A/A and A/G very well, can go fast and slow, land on a ship.... What can't it do? ;) And for all that it can do, it's very easy to learn how to use it. Of course you need some motivation to learn it, its is not an arcade game, but since you are interested enough to be here, that should be good ;)
