  1. Yeah!! Got to love these threads ;D I feel the same like some of you about the EF 2000. It was european environment, and yes you felt you were part of something big.. I had to play it again to describe why, but it was infact incredible. I dont recall if it was because of the repercussion that your missions had on the campaign (you bombed a plane, was one less for the enemy), the tension on the first ones (where you didn't do anything besides patrolling), all the planes ligned on the runway, multiple missions around you.. dont know for sure.. Like most of you i come from Falcon 3.0 (MIG-29/F-18 ) and went all the way with LHX, Chuck Yeagers, Red Baron, Dogfight, F-14 Fleet Defender, 1942 Pacific Air War, Falcon 4.0, Flight Simulator Series, IL2 Series, LOMAC, BS etc.. ;D Bought most of them too ;D One of my biggest frustration (on this subject at that time) was that i never had the chance of playing Tornado............... kewl website btw http://index.migman.com/index.php i remember it had a easier layout..
  2. Well its already been discussed hundreds of times, but im still amazed how much Falcon 3.0 had to offer back in those days... replays and acmi, campaign, all the different views (padlock was incredible), mission editor, multiplayer, a decent manual and maps, 3 different scenarios, lots of weapons to play with.. setting the standards 19 years ago, true visionaries
  3. yeapppppppp those were the days.. I was searching for that section who specified the amount of memory needed and found this lol http://hideout.dvru.ru/Games/354/Files/falcon3_man.PDF
  4. Falcon 3.0 was my first one... and cause i had some trouble with a virus affecting the EXE on one of the floppys (11 if i recall lol) I couldnt play till someone got me a copy... early 90s no one I knew had that type of complex game installed. I had the hardest time reading the manual and not being able to use that knowledge... i carried it everywhere, the result I had almost mastered it before i even played ! You can imagine what happened after I finnaly got it... : )) Changed my life!
  5. For 1991 SIM it innovative views (ex. paddlock), dynamic campaign, manual and maps, mission editor, addons (ex MIG-29 and Op fighting tiger), ACMI, Multiplayer.. I think all of those set a new standard that later generation flight sims just needed to improve. ;D
  6. Falcon 3.0 was light years AHEAD Lomac, well at least all (or prly most of them) the features LOMAC had were already in a 1991 SIM, 10 floppys ;D Then it was the aftermath of the gulf war, computers played a minor roll on the game development and Falcon was HUGE. I tottaly agree with the fact that the 90s were the best flight sim times, not the best in terms of realism, but in terms of availabilty and specialy when it made some of the buyers dreams come true (speking for myself at least), by adding or creating MOD's with planes that you only knew by buying specific mags or books, and watching discovery, course. Internet wasnt that fast at that time and getting in touch with your fav plane was really hard, at least for foreigners outside the US. Flying in Chuck Yeagers, 1942, early versions of Flight Simulator, LHX, Flacon 3.0, Mig 29, Tornado, Dogfight.... TONS of sims was really a pleasure.. : ) I dont know if this post had anything valueable for the discussion but I just felt nostalgic.. sorry!! ;D
  7. I always wanted a BS/Falcon 4 study sim but in a F-4 phantom II vietnam/cold war era. Course as a future addon, MIG23/27 or a more basic MIG-21. For me, Strike Fighters series are not enough. Pros: - All data is well known and well documented with no opsec restrictions - no complicated digital systems to code - theres a huge community of F-4 / vietnam / cold war fans - could be naval and land based, covering both worlds. - 2 seat with the possibility of a multiplayer backseater/pilot - Hundreds of different types of mission could be preformed - with no super-flight-does-it-all-computer, all NAV would have to be manual, with help of maps, bombing, air-to-air etc. - modders could create campaigns based on virtual or a real scenarios, such as gulf war wild weasel missions... well, I will keep dreamin' : )
  8. Well... Some videos : http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?t=149390 CBU 97 on FAS.org http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/dumb/cbu-97.htm not an easy search !
  9. I guess a google searched link wont be that helpfull would it ?
  10. I really would like to know where I can map the grey wheel on the x52 pro (throttle) to zoom in / out. Since programing seems more dodgy, at least when I tried, I would prefer to assign it in game, but I cant find it on the huge list that is provided. Im sorry, I've already posted this on a sticky topic but no one replyed. and im of for :pilotfly:
  11. Hey! Can anyone tell me how to program the small grey wheel (throttle) on the X52 PRO to zoom in / out outside and inside views ? Or the button name to assign ingame ;D ...at least was the working solution for the weapon release problem.
