  1. Its the drawback of NVG systems As far as I know NVG is more sensitive to all other colors except greenish. This is exactly why NVG compatible cockpit have a specific green lightning like F-18, A-10.
  2. I set up IP and IP TO TGT(brg, rng, altdiff) in multiplayer as RIO and set up release mode to computer IP. When the pilot marks the IP the WCS works like in Computer Target mode. It shows release cue for the IP not for the target. Another strange thing is when I am on Special category, there is continuously illuminated Air-To-Ground option. Tested on 3 servers with 4 pilots. Plane was always hot.
  3. Thats why I am writing about it here. From my point of view it is bug. But similar kind of bugs is also usual in these helicopters. I wouldn't be surprised if this logic is different in each series. Or even pieces.
  4. I see now. So it is not bug. It is feature. Probably too much code for such a small detail. @FragBum thanks for explanation.
  5. Check of tail rotor anti ice system shows 3rd and 4th section It is perfectly uderstood by me, flight enginieers and lecturers who learnt it this way. Once I personally checked it on real machine because I wasn't sure. That emphasised part talks about internal work of system but not the indication. And indication works the way I explained here. That section lights works according to selection of indication knob setting. So you will go through blades 1-5 of main rotor and it will cycle there through section 1-4. When you set tail rotor, section lights should cycle between section 1 and 2. You simply need explicit check for T/R section deicing to be sure it works correctly.
  6. Check of tail rotor anti ice system shows 3rd and 4th section According to your definition have Mi-8 deice system. Although it is used for prevention as well as for deicing. There is 4 cycling sections on each main rotor blade and 2 cycling sections on tail rotor blades. So if I have set knob for tail rotor, section indicator should cycle between 1st and 2nd section. Just try to wait for 3rd section and then turn knob on tail rotor. Section indicator should show 1st section instead of 3rd as it is now.
  7. When I check tail rotor anti ice system, lamps indicating activation of rotor deicing section after completing deicing cycle of 2nd section jumps on 3rd section although tail rotor have only 2 sections and also this lamp should jump back on 1st section.
  8. I Fly Mi-8MTV. Sorry for wrong description. Tested it in DCS and 80km/h is pretty safe. Anyway for landing in DCS you need to be much more gentle with collective than in RW acft.
  9. In helicopter with engines running on flight idle and generators on, inverter 1x115V do not turn off when I switch it to off position. The voltage is still present on AC Voltmeter set up to 115 inverter and pressure measuring gages do not turn off.
  10. It means that there is mechanical system from cabin controls through force feedback spring mechanism and trim to hydraulic actuators. Hydraulic actuators are connected to swashplate and ropes for controlling tail rotor. So there is no redundant systems. Only mechanical conected to hydro actuators conected to swashplate and tail rotor control.
  11. Easiest rule For correct approach your groundspeed should be equal to your height over HLZ. Flying on Mi-8MTV which is Mi-171Sh
  12. It like to get into VRS easier than other DCS model. In real world it is not so easy to get she to VRS. Another problem is combined too long acceleration of engines from near idling and too low weight. For descending in real one you need about 5-3° collective pitch where 3°collective is minimum safe pitch for power descend. In DCS Mi-8 on 3°collective pitch hardly descends so you need lower collective to the deck. This means that engines goes idling main rotor starts spinning and you go down in autorotation. Before landing you increase collective a bit in about 80km/h in 80m AGL but engines are drinking coffee instead of acceleration and main rotor RPM goes down so you just pray that they will start working before you hit the ground. Destroyed so many Hips in DCS because of this. And I never had problem with real one.
