  1. I fly with Mi-171 in RL. I know pretty accurate how different are the controls in RL and how bad is joystick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hotas Warhog. I know about the differences between travels and even when I take them into account it feels too prone to VRS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. None of that. It was pretty nice flight. Thanks for explanation cpt. Obvious... All I want to say is that RL Mi-8 is not so willing to fall into VRS as the DCS model. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. But we didn’t hit the ground. We ended in stable 5m hover, then continue with normal take off. I cannot see the precise value on right seat because VSI is useless in hover due main rotor flow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Mostly agree with you. I had about 150hours IRL in Mi-8 behind controls when I firstly install the DCS and immediately got to the VRS. The model is very unforgiving. Looks like when you get under the certain speed probably 40km/h the 4m/s of descend, you immediately got to the VRS. I personally see my instructor ending hover check with higher speed (roughly 5-8m/s) of descend without even closing to VRS.
  6. @dinko.mihalic agree with you. I have about 200-300 FH behind controls and comparing RL Mi-171Sh to Mi-8MTV2 with similar T/O weight, the DCS model is much more nervous. Seems to me it is too lightweight or the main rotor produces too much t. On 3° of rotor pitch you can easily crash helicopter and starts to be really nevous. Also descending is much harder than IRL. And try to turn the anti-ice system and look at the engine RPM. You will see really horrible RPM difference.
  7. Because AMRAAM is so bad it is now just better sidewinder. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. They already ststed that they cannot produce any Russian made full fidelity module due government until they are located in Russia. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. DCS have module based damage model. Every module in aircraft can be damaged or destroyed. Moreover some developers *angry look at Belismek* take it to next level so one module damage causes damage to the other modules. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Keep this 2 rules: -never descend more than 4m/s under 40km/h airspeed -keep same speed in km/h as altitude in radio altimeter in meters in flat land without wind when landing
  11. Yes, size matters. I manage to get Home with F-14 countless times. F-16, F-18, JF-17 is rather small aircraft so you do not have much chance. But I also managed to get RTB with damaged F-18 after gun hit and also small IR missile hit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I make pilot invulnerable. There is no point to getting simkilled and loosing all flight hours. Moreover we have excel sheet for logging FH.
  13. But users are asking exactly for that.
  14. Nonsensical is to want from a simulator which main selling point is accurate simulation of all systems to be a bit less realistic. Personally I would like DCS to be a bit more realistic so I can use RL manuals more.
  15. Because there are bunch of people who bring up this discussion in simulator, where business model is based on realism and as accurate modeling of systems as possible.
  16. Youre right it won't make you a fighter pilot but if you are fighter pilot, DCS makes you better fighter pilot if you use it right. Same applies for heli guys. If you use use it right way it will make you better pilot and mission commander.
  17. But it is close enough. You do not have the acceleration feeling yet but that is all. It is not as important as you think. I believe if you have same controls for your airframe it is very precise simulation. For Mi-8 I would say it is better simulation of flight model in standard contitions is more precise than flight model of profesional full mission simulator and very close to real one.
  18. I wear a flying suit all day in work and sometimes when playing DCS. I think you can also adapt HGU helmet for computer headphones. NVG is unfortunately incompatible with todays monitors. You have to use projectors. I did medical 2 months back. Argued with doctors that they make the letters bigger. Get better result from eye doctor Some guys I knew have full Ka-50 cockpit made in home. I do not know how about the ejection seat and parachute. I fly to not to get killed in DCS. Man did you try Warthunder? I think that will be ideal game for you.
  19. If you want one flysuit I can provide you one :megalol: I have one spare
  20. For me realism is not wasted effort. This is the only game I am interested in about 2 years and I have still fun there. If there weren’t be so accurate system model I wouldn’t play it so long. Accurate system model also make more realistic procedures and tactics development in virtual squadrons. I get to great level of proficiency in tactics thanks to DCS. If you do not understand it and you think system modeling is wasted effort, than DCS isn’t game for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Mi8 gunsight and EVU ingame Another problem with mounting gunsight is you need it to correlate is with weapons and this is not 5 minutes setting but half a day pain in the ass of every armourer. They can do 2 setups of weapon slots like to have just 2 hard points for gunners or all 8 for gunners and weapons. Or they also add set hardpoints for fuel tanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I just think they do good decision what is just rearming and what is changing configuration which need shut down helicopter and maintanance crew. Morover putting down EVUs with running engines is impossible so it decrease level of simulation to unacceptable level. There is no way to change the origin of a view in VR a little lower so you will look under the gunsight? Because I think I find something about redefining view point in Mi-8 manual but since I do not need it I do not read it This would be endless debate about what should be how simulated according to preflight preparations, rearming, changing configuration and so on. And I thing Belismek team got this debate few evenings (maybe even with Vodka) what to be the quick change and what will need to be done in mission editor. I simply agree with their decision.
  23. Personally I do not see any problem here. Disassembling of gunsight and EVUs will take pretty much time IRL. And it is not possible to disassamble it with running engines. That's why It is not considered as rearming option.
  24. With fuel tanks or bombs loaded.
  25. Its there Its there, usually it is already done when you look there after turning on
