From your mouth to gods ears. I would only hope it's by then. This is a huuge thing for ED. the apache is no joke of an aircraft to simulate. No other sim has been able to replicate this helicopter. The closest I've gotten was a mod created by someone for aerofly fs2 yet still not even close to what this will be.

By the way things are looking, if it gets delayed "again" there will be some really unhappy people. This is the very first time I've ever preordered a module from DCS and was so excited counting down the days (6 days) even spent over $350 in sim gear such as rudder pedals, diy collective, new flight stick bass shaker etc. And then,, da da daaaa! Delayed. Well from now on I will wait till a module is released before I put money down. I just had no idea of their history in delaying, pushbacks etc. I always thought they were spot on. For the record I still love these guys for what they bring to us. Just bummed and left with a bad taste is all.

I've found the viper very user friendly compared to the hornet. Although I can memorize how to cold start a hornet easier than the viper but I just started with the viper. Also from what I've seen, it appears the viper is a bit more challenging to do a2a refueling compared the hornet.

Green horn here. I currently own the hornet and currently trying out the viper and love it. I haven't played much with the hornet but just curious to know which of these two one would consider more "user friendly". Probably neither right? Both equally challenging in their own respect?

i just finished a mission using the hind on NTTR and im surprised i maintained a solid 80 frames with graphics near max. i didnt fly in vegas yet but i did fly over a small town with lots of trees and buildings etc. didnt even budge. what an experience. i wish all maps ran this well. thank you. i have high hopes for the apache on this map.

Honestly, I dont care whether its training missions or sortie missions as long as I get to fly the ah64 in NTTR. Now that I think of it, is it possible to create a mission and fly any aircraft in any map you want?

I mean it makes sense that it should have at least one mission at NTTR. I really hope so because that's the only map I'm able to run near max graphics on vr holding solid 80 fps. I checked the FAQ and did not find anything. Please if someone can shed some light.

I just test flown most of my aircraft at the NTTR and wow. Just wow. I'm able to turn everything up near max and hold 80 fps granted it's just a barren desert xD but it looks soo good compared to always flying in the default map. Now heres where I'm chewing my nails off at, will the Apache be able to fly at NTTR? I would believe so and can only hope so. It wouldn't make sense if the Apache didn't have any missions at NTTR.

I'm running vr and with mid to high settings at solid 80 fps but soon as I turn on the TV it drops to 40 fps causing ASW to kick in and things just look funky. Is there a way around this? Does this happen to anyone else? I7 9700k oc 5ghz 2070s Ram 16gb All ssd Rift s

yesss it really is a bastard of a map and surprises me too because they are just islands. but i just now activated the hind as i hear that its a hog to run on vr. im planning to buy the apache so if i can manage the hind on a "forgiving" map i think my apache "should" be ok. im going to activate the NTTR since thats what i read that people say its the lightest. or at least one of the lightest maps to run. fingers crossed

very informative topic thanks op. i7 9700k oc 5ghz 2070 super ram 16gb all ssd rift s ive been tossing and turning at night thinking about how the ah64 will perform. i want to take advantage of the preorder sale but what if its unplayable? i'm so not a fan of ASW due to the funky artifacts. so far ive been playing at 80 fps solid with textures/high, terrain/high, shadows/high SP only. ive been flying the gazelle and shes a hoot. love her BUT, when i turn on the TV display, its down to 40 fps and ASW kicks in. its annoying. so thats my fear with the apache, my would be new home in dcs. i guess ill take advantage of the free trials and play with the hind and see how that pans out lol

im looking to purchase my first map. my pc specs arent the greatest and im running vr. i7 9700k oc 5.0ghz rtx 2070 super ram 16 gb all ssd rift s i run the default caucasus map pretty well on high terrain textures at 80 fps. i just dont wanna end up with a map thats unplayable since refunding probably isnt an option here. i read that NTTR is pretty easy on low\mid tier rigs. thanks either way.
