  1. Thanks @Skuva and @draconus, I will update the document. It's also probably time to go through and do a full audit to see if I've missed any updates since the last audit ... we'll see if I can get that done quickly
  2. I take your point @draconus, if it is useful to people I can add the FC3 aircraft back into the list - but my concern remains: if anyone can add to the discussion here about what is actually in FC2024 pilot-body wide I’d greatly appreciate it?
  3. Quick update to remove the RAZBAM modules from the tables (you can't buy them any more ). I've also removed the Flaming Cliffs modules, as I only have Flaming Cliffs 3 and I'm not confident that is representative of Flaming Cliffs 2024 nor am I intending to buy that pack as I own the full-fidelity versions of those aircraft. Finally there is some good news about the long (long long long!) awaited A-10C pilot, which is coming soon and appears to be a hi-fidelity model like in the F-5E, F-16 and F/A-18. Not sure that offsets the disappointment of the Razbam stuff, but something to look forward to at least.
  4. I've updated the document with the F-5E Tiger II remastered edition (which I believe is now the only full fidelity F-5E you can buy in the online store or on Steam). The module has an updated pilot which brings it in line with the F-16 and F-18 with upper body movement (which is hard to see in the cramped confines of the F-5E cockpit, but it is there!) and a kneeboard on the left leg. Again, I do not own the Flaming Cliffs 2024 edition version of the F-5E so I can't speak to what is included in that module - if anyone does ownitI'd appreciate it if you could let me know
  5. Hi @ebabil, I didn’t see this sooner, so I imagine you’ve already made your decision one way or the other. If it helps though, from my experience, the G940 does work “plug and play” with DCS, and the buttons feel similar to the MSFFB in use. I found my stick to feel more “coggy” than the MSFFB, though both those older sticks feel very ordinary compared to something newer (and far more expensive) like the Moza AB9. The limitation on the G940 is the firmware in the device causing problems with small stick movements around the center position, and a pretty weak gimbal setup inside the device. And obviously these older devices don’t have the force the newer ones do. In my opinion, an unmodified G940 is a waste of money these days.
  6. Quick update to the CH-47F with the new patch... we now have a pilot and copilot in the cockpit! Including first-person view, the upper body is animated - straight to the "Gold" Category
  7. Issue with false positive for AV-8B and M2000 CPT.dll files now resolved - install OK and working OK, no viruses detected.
  8. Quick update to include the CH-47F, the module is in a very early state with no pilot or crew bodies visible from inside the cockpit (hence being in the [RED] category) and a number of other "features to do" outstanding such as the cyclic force trim when using a force feedback joystick.
  9. As an update - it appears Windows Defender has been updated and no longer recognises these files as malware. I reinstalled the modules today successfully with no warnings.
  10. Windows Defender found Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.B!ml today when I updated to DCS 2.9.7.58923 using Steam in the following files: \SteamLibrary\steamapps\downloading\223750\Mods\aircraft\AV8BNA\bin\AV8B_CPT.dll \SteamLibrary\steamapps\downloading\223750\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C\bin\M2KC_CPT.dll Given recent events I have elected to not install the M2000 or AV8B until this issue is resolved.
  11. Trying to update DCS World to 2.9.7.58923 through Steam today (10/08/2024), when downloading files Windows Defender detects Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.B!ml in: file: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\downloading\223750\Mods\aircraft\AV8BNA\bin\AV8B_CPT.dll file: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\downloading\223750\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C\bin\M2KC_CPT.dll Using an abundance of caution given what I understand about the two modules, I have removed them by unchecking the "Install" box next to them in the Steam Properties DLC page for DCS World. Can you please investigate this issue and advise the result?
  12. An update to this request now that I've had a play with the new launcher. The new launcher is great. I like how it allows me to choose to use the monitor, or to use the VR headset just by clicking the appropriate button. That helps. I would still like a "Single monitor - Monitor #2" option in the Monitor setting, if that's possible?
  13. Hey all, Huge DCS patch dropped today, no changes to the 1st person pilot visibility for any of the modules that don't have them. On FC2024: I am not currently intending to purchase this update as I own the F-86, MiG-15 and F-5E as standalone modules. All of these modules feature the pilot body, so I'd be amazed if the FC2024 versions don't. If anyone does purchase and can let me know one way or the other, that'd be appreciated!
  14. Apologies, but I'm not in a position to try to apply the firmware to actual hardware any more - I hope someone else can help?
  15. I never ran it on Win11, only Win10. It might have something to do with the virtualization in Win11… I think there might be a way to turn it off but if you’ve got an old Win10 PC or laptop somewhere that might be easier/safer?
  16. The new launcher sounds good. I have a 1080p144 monitor and a 2160p60 monitor. When I'm playing the game I want to use my high refresh monitor or VR. When I'm making B-roll for videos, I want to use my 4k monitor. I would really appreciate an option in the System Options in the launcher where I can tell the game to use one or the other monitor, and whether to use VR or flatscreen. I imagine this is not simple or we'd already have it. But other games do have it, so I know it is possible.
  17. Hi @sirrah, I have looked into the information available on the forum and the sales pages about the first-person pilot bodies in those modules that are still missing them. There are a lot of promises, but given the timeframes I'm not totally comfortable including it in the document. I will give you my findings here: FC3 modules (the A-10A, F-15C and MiG-29): There was some commentary from 2016 about pilot legs in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs having been removed for the DCS version of Flaming Cliffs. BigNewy responded to a thread that "[...] ED are aware of the VR pilot body presence, hopefully it is something we will see with all aircraft eventually" A-10C II Tank Killer: As of 2020, ED Staff pinned a "planned for later" to a wishlist post requesting a first-person pilot body. BigNewy reported on 12/12/2022 that "A pilot body is planned, but I can give you not ETA currently [sic]". On 20 July 2023 Wags locked the topic so no further replies or requests were found. JF-17 Thunder: Developer doesn't ever seem to have responded to questions or requests about a pilot body MiG-19P Farmer: No information. A 2019 topic about it not being present was moved by mods from the bug reporting forum to the general forum. MiG-21Bis: This was originally promised, but the records are lost to me in the deep time of the web. It was mentioned in the forum in 2016 as being a "forgotten promise". Mirage F1: on 23 May 2023 Fausete (3rd party developer) responded to a request "[...] a pilot model is actively being developed." Fw 190 A-8 Anton: On 19 July 2021 Nineline responded "Its planed but the model has not been finished yet for the pilot unfortunately. It will come later, we understand this is important to VR users especially." I-16: This developer is a single person, and it seems that all mentions of the "pilot body" refer to the body seen in the external (F2, F4) view. Mosquito FB VI: A 2021 thread was active until mid 2023, but no official response was ever made. Yak-52: On 2 October 2019 BigNewy responded to a bug report about missing pilot bodies with "Apologies for the delay, this has now been reported [...] I don't have a timeline for a fix" Black Shark 3: as of December 2022 there is a post in the BS3 Wishlist forum titled "Pilot Body" requesting the pilot body, and it is pinned as "in progress" As you can see, ED are promising pilot bodies in all their modules in the future... which we might see - e.g. the PBR textures for the F-15 cockpit in FC3 were unexpected and welcome. The Mirage F1 is under active development and the developers report the pilot model is under active development. While I don't want to throw shade on the other devs, particularly not OctopusG who is one person doing all the work, I would bet against seeing pilots in the other modules where they are missing (JF-17, MiG-19P, MiG-21Bis, I-16). I'm also pessimistic about the Yak-52, though that is ED so there is some hope. Hope this helps!
  18. There will be a small update today to add the Kiowa Warrior - it will go into the [Green] category with both the pilot and copilot bodies visible from the first person view and very detailed!
  19. Thanks for your kind words @sirrah! I will do some research and see if it is practical to include an indication of whether a virtual/first-person pilot body has even been mentioned for the module. What I’ve been doing until now is updating the document and thread when a new pilot body is released with a patch… I am hesitant to say a pilot body is planned for a module when I have no actual way to guarantee such an update will ever happen (the Black Shark and Fw-190A-8 are perfect examples of this… and you already mentioned the A-10C II which I have higher hopes for). But I will look into it for you
  20. I know we're not supposed to compare, but I flew another modern-day sim with a working dynamic campaign built in which has just been updated with OpenXR VR, and their mirrors work properly in VR (different images rendered for each eye). So I feel like DCS is falling behind a lot of other simulation games (whatever you want to call them) in this regard, and it's something that you look at every time you fly and for a lot of the flight in VR ...
  21. Yes, that’s the one. I’ve always had to rebind my joystick and throttle after doing this (complex setup so YMMV), but at least you keep your kneeboards, mods and perhaps they keyboard binds…
  22. I'm probably under-thinking this, but I can't see why it wouldn't save a bunch of development time and effort to use the first person pilot model from the Dora-9 to get the Anton updated so us VR users can feel less like a ghost when flying it? The cockpits seem very similar, but again I could be missing something ...
  23. Yeah, G limits only apply if you intend to use that airplane again
  24. With the F-4E I suspect we'll need an SRS update to fix it. Not sure why it isn't working in the Eagle, I don't recall if there are keybinds you need to set for SRS in the DCS F-15E keybinds menu or not?
  25. Framerates are good in the cockpit! I'm finding this to be the main issue with new modules, as my GPU ages out . The jet really lives up to the name "lead sled" (and this is the one with the slats!!), and it certainly lets you know how it feels about your flying! The cockpit is excellently modelled again, and the virtual pilot models are great. It's always cool to stand outside the jet in VR and see the pilot (or backseater) moving about believably in their cockpit, and even with all the ironwork catching a glimpse of the pilot looking about just hits you with that "this must have been what it was like" feeling that the best of the modules give you - most often with the little touches like this! Having the helmet sitting on the canopy rail when you get in is another nice touch. Also sunglasses
