I get the point, however, I encourage you to just put the maximum amount available as soon as possible. This is top level "simming" after all so we don't want/need babysitting. A good example comes from the P-51. You can fill all the fuel tanks ( 100% ) which fill the additional rear tank as well. Now the manuals say that you are _not_ allowed to engage in a dogfight while having fuel in the rear tank. How would anyone know? Well it's their business, learn the basics. On top of that, community can help you in different ways. Normandy WW2 -server has set up the rear fuel tanks empty by default, which is a nice touch. 1. Let the players make the choices when something is/was available IRL. 2. IMO DCS shouldn't be designed with only new players in mind but for the enthusiasts. New players won't be new players for long when they start playing and get hooked. Cheers!

That's not related to what you said. "Given that we've heard and seen absolutely nothing on this from the dev for years, I suspect we're years away from seeing this, if indeed we ever do. " >We have heard >It's confirmed by the devs in text and videos >We already have CE, EE and BE which were also promised No one ever gives exact release dates until they're more or less sure that it will be ready for release by that date.

I advise googling or checking the forums for at least a minute before posting misinformation aka C.R.A.P.

When turning "Light and panel light rheostat" -axis bind, the knob doesn't move at all. The axis works as intended in the controls settings. Perhaps its a bug? Cheers!
-
I should probably try this later when it works, does it affect the aliasing in VR? I just wish I could get rid of that excessive aliasing in the black panels.

Hi! I'm currently 8000km away from my PC so I can't check this myself right now. Is it nowadays possible to move DCS installation to another hard drive within the launcher like in Steam? Or do I still have to manually save the important files, delete DCS and do a fresh install? Cheers!

Thanks! I've been playing with the idea that I would return to F18 after like, I don't know, 3 years but this helped me to ditch the idea. I couldn't stand the bugs and issues with the radar and AMRAAM's and what not + the many missing features during the many years. I'll check again in 2 years, cheers! I appreciate the work they've done but I think they really need more workforce. I love WW2 planes as well so I know everything about frustration.
-
No worries man. Yeah that's true, it would take some effort to make them what they should be but I want to believe Cold engine simulation, even a very simple one would be more than welcome, planes do have oil dilution options as well. I am happy that they're doing the simulated landing gear physics which is essential in take off and landing.
-
Yeah I'm aware of that, I too have seen vintage planes in person. What I meant was that there are many steps of noises that are missing in startup and that's a shame. It sounds barebones in startup which in turn, sounds quiet. In flight sounds are great! It basically doesn't have that rumble of a startup, it's just 1-2 "brt" for ignition and then straight off to low idle without actually running the RPM up to low idle. Nice clip btw.
-
Not to mention the starting sound, it's very anticlimactic. You barely hear anything and what you hear is nearly silent "brrt" and that's it. Same goes for most WW2 planes in DCS. Compare any of them in Youtube and see/hear how exciting the startups are in comparison. It's the same thing with or without the "hear like helmet" -option.
-
Well that's how much they care about their WW2 -stuff at ED. Same thing will happen with the Pacific Theater. Cash in on enthusiasts ( like me ) on F6F + Assets pack. Then leave them be soon after and continue with the same "We haven't abandoned them but you must understand our team is small" - statements. Very f.. annoying indeed but that's how it is.
-
Yeah it's been like this with WW2 era for years now. They're now putting their resources in the money grab F-35 so I won't be expecting anything for WW2 this whole year. As sad and dramatic that sounds, I also feel like it's the truth. I'd like to be wrong for once in my life (:D).

This! Can't believe that P-47 in DCS is actually worse than P-51 in ground attack because the only populated server ( 4YA ) only allows these rockets for the P-47 and HVAR for P-51. I never take these rockets either coz they're just dead weight and drag afterwards, not to mention the skill it takes to hit something with these.

Miles are pretty much useless nowadays anyway, seems that the new trend for 3rd party developers is to opt out of the miles -program. Your miles are good for ED -products.
