  2. I tried the DCSMax 1.4. XP SP3, AMD X2 5200+. Absolutely no difference in FPS. And I mean the difference is ZERO. So COUGAR, could you now be a bit more specific about your experience ?

  6. Dusty: I only had time to fly the first mission (I hope I'm updated correctly, it might be helpful to make an up-to-date pack). What hit me immediately is the fact that insurgents (guys who mostly use guerilla tactics, ambushes and so on), move openly on the road. Also they got armor. But obviously without it the whole scenario would be very silly and a simple insurgent hunt so I understand that point. If you reason out how they got the armor (stolen from the enemy?), I'm good with that. Also I believe that the player's side is a bit overpowered ? 4 Sharks ? Vulcans and Avengers ? (I know those are static) Good but maybe a bit too much for 2 columns of mostly infantry ? The mission definitely needs more "adrenaline". To feel a bit underpowered to prompt you make fast decisions, the "must-not-arse-it-now" feeling, you know ? :-) With more "rush" a definitely good start for a campaign. Will look into it further after work.
  7. Is there any other reason than performance to have a better graphics card ? Does the game have any advanced graphical eyecandy that would REQUIRE a newer card ? I'm playing this on 7900GS and it works perfectly well in roughly 20-40 FPS on average. Water is down, but all textures, scenes and visibility are maxed. Anything interesting there for DX 10.1 users ? Sunshafts ? I hope not. I mean it would be cool, but we don't want to end up with Crysis, do we ? :-)
  8. Sorry I haven't been reading through all 10 pages of replies, but: COUGAR: What do you mean by "works perfect" ? I have AMD X2 5200+ and the difference is barely noticeable. Few FPS up, yes, but I'd hesitate calling it "perfect". Which is by no means meant in the bad way, it's just that we have all been warned XP users won't see much difference. OS problem or something. COUGAR, please state what is "perfect" for you. As I sure as hell wish it would be perfect for me too. :) The most difference I've seen so far is by turning cockpit detail to 256. Great boost, 10-15 FPS! Love it! UPDATE: I'm terribly sorry, my fault, haven't detected the new DCSMax 1.4, will try it today after work.
  9. Guys, don't even start with HAWX, just mentioning it makes me puke. :mad: thereminqblank: thanks man, good call. They have it, however, the release date is the 15th ? Like 8 days after Wags' announced release date for Western Europe ? :cry:

  12. I'd personally welcome some kind visual representation of hidden units (grey color ? with blue or red frame ?). It's a bit painful to hide them for the mission and unhide them for tweaking.
  13. That's a nice piece of reality. Now if only my insurgents were actually walking, not sliding on their knees down the hill. :-) As usually, I must have done something wrong, will experiment further.

  15. No no no, activate with them being visible obviously. That would be a workaround if you didn't want them to jump right into enemy with player engaging a schoolbus 50 miles east. :-)
  16. Why not activate your armor when one/more enemy units are dead ?
  17. Thank you guys, I've got it working. I guess I'm one of those people who look into the manual as a last resort. Otherwise the mission editor is pretty self-explanatory. Thanx again. May gods of flying bless your rotors! :)
  18. I'd like to trigger a start of an Su-27 flight from parking. The trigger should be an enemy aircraft entering the trigger zone. How do I go about it ? :( So far the flight just starts their taxiing immediately after the mission start... I don't see any action which would say "let these guys start their mission" after the trigger. Thanx for your help.
