  1. I had my G2 this week too I had this issue too, even though I was getting 45fps (everything was maxed) at ground level, looking left or right was a stuttering mess. Straight ahead was fine. I switched on legacy reprojection in the per app setting in steamvr, which seems to have fixed it. Not sure if that's what I want to be doing, but for now it's smooth Using a 5800x/3080
  2. Start DCS from within virtual desktop in the cliff House, this fixed the mouse issue for me.
  3. They said the same to me pretty much. I do flick back and fore between 2 connections on occasion, but then I've always done this
  4. Ive had this happen to me this evening. Changed my pw quickly, will see if all is well tomorrow
  5. My Astro A50's do the trick, bit of a neat fit over the headband, but they sound great. Also not the cheapest option, but I've had mine for several years and still going strong.
  6. Not reverb ones, but they are the same controllers that come with every WMR unit, so yes I've tried them, and they aren't as good as the oculus touch. And yes imo, Oculus home is more polished, has better titles(plus a few tripleA's coming) and has access to steam. I'm not saying Reverb is a bad device, or WMR devices in gener, or that the Rift S is the best thing out there. But when comparing the two, the Rift S is more polished, and a lot less cash. Resolution isn't everything. The op asked how they compare in other areas outside of the 3d effects. Not that the Reverb is bad, just that imo, the Rift S is better, especially given its much lower price point.
  7. WMR controllers are famously crap though, they are cheaply made, chunky, have poor tracking and don't feel very nice in the hand, which is the opposite of the Oculus touch. While I'm sure the Vive has better tracking, that doesn't apply when comparing the Rift S and the Reverb, the former of which is the better of the two. I was merely pointing out, that out of the two, the Rift S is a better all round device, for £200 less.
  8. better controllers, better tracking, better games via the oculus store.
  9. I'd have to go with the Rift S. Besides being cheaper, it offers much more in terms of VR experiences outside of sims, which is all the Reverb is really good for.
  10. I would imagine it would still not work well with DCS, mainly due to compression. Would the pixel density setting still work? Not to mention limited battery life
  11. Turns out the occasional flickering is happening in all games, and looking through Reddit, is the most common complaint so far. Try this as a fix.. If you’re seeing snow, static, or a similar visual disturbance in your Rift S headset, try these troubleshooting tips: Disconnect and Reconnect your Rift S from your computer. To do this: Unplug the USB cable from your computer.. Unplug the mini DisplayPort or DisplayPort cable from your computer. First re-plug your USB cable into your computer. Wait 5 seconds, or until the light on your headset comes on. Re-plug your mini DisplayPort or DisplayPort cable into your computer. Unplug and Replug your Rift S headset. To do this: Carefully remove the facial interface from your headset. This will allow you to access the cable. Unplug the cable from the headset. Wait 5 seconds. Insert the cable back into your headset. Insert the facial interface back into your headset. Restart your Oculus Service. To do this: Open the Oculus app on your computer. Click Settings on the left side of the app. Click Beta at the top of the settings options. Click Restart Oculus. Edit: didn't notice the post above :D
  12. I guess this is based on your ipd. By design the sweet spot must be larger to accommodate the full range of ipd measurement. I would guess if you're on the edge of this, then it would be smaller. Mine is 65, and sweet spot seems quite large to me, where I don't really have to get the fitting perfect.
  13. Moving it in and out of course messes with the FOV and clarity. But I just quickly move mine a few mm, do what i need to do, then place it back, takes a second. You could always cut the nose piece to suit if you want a permanent solution.
  14. Apparently the rubber nose thing is removable. Depending how your Rift fits your face, there is a small nose gap anyway. Which can be made larger or smaller by using the button on the set, and moving the display housing in and out.
