I had my G2 this week too I had this issue too, even though I was getting 45fps (everything was maxed) at ground level, looking left or right was a stuttering mess. Straight ahead was fine. I switched on legacy reprojection in the per app setting in steamvr, which seems to have fixed it. Not sure if that's what I want to be doing, but for now it's smooth Using a 5800x/3080

Start DCS from within virtual desktop in the cliff House, this fixed the mouse issue for me.

They said the same to me pretty much. I do flick back and fore between 2 connections on occasion, but then I've always done this -

Ive had this happen to me this evening. Changed my pw quickly, will see if all is well tomorrow -
My Astro A50's do the trick, bit of a neat fit over the headband, but they sound great. Also not the cheapest option, but I've had mine for several years and still going strong.

Not reverb ones, but they are the same controllers that come with every WMR unit, so yes I've tried them, and they aren't as good as the oculus touch. And yes imo, Oculus home is more polished, has better titles(plus a few tripleA's coming) and has access to steam. I'm not saying Reverb is a bad device, or WMR devices in gener, or that the Rift S is the best thing out there. But when comparing the two, the Rift S is more polished, and a lot less cash. Resolution isn't everything. The op asked how they compare in other areas outside of the 3d effects. Not that the Reverb is bad, just that imo, the Rift S is better, especially given its much lower price point.
-
WMR controllers are famously crap though, they are cheaply made, chunky, have poor tracking and don't feel very nice in the hand, which is the opposite of the Oculus touch. While I'm sure the Vive has better tracking, that doesn't apply when comparing the Rift S and the Reverb, the former of which is the better of the two. I was merely pointing out, that out of the two, the Rift S is a better all round device, for £200 less.

better controllers, better tracking, better games via the oculus store.
-
I'd have to go with the Rift S. Besides being cheaper, it offers much more in terms of VR experiences outside of sims, which is all the Reverb is really good for.

I would imagine it would still not work well with DCS, mainly due to compression. Would the pixel density setting still work? Not to mention limited battery life

Turns out the occasional flickering is happening in all games, and looking through Reddit, is the most common complaint so far. Try this as a fix.. If you’re seeing snow, static, or a similar visual disturbance in your Rift S headset, try these troubleshooting tips: Disconnect and Reconnect your Rift S from your computer. To do this: Unplug the USB cable from your computer.. Unplug the mini DisplayPort or DisplayPort cable from your computer. First re-plug your USB cable into your computer. Wait 5 seconds, or until the light on your headset comes on. Re-plug your mini DisplayPort or DisplayPort cable into your computer. Unplug and Replug your Rift S headset. To do this: Carefully remove the facial interface from your headset. This will allow you to access the cable. Unplug the cable from the headset. Wait 5 seconds. Insert the cable back into your headset. Insert the facial interface back into your headset. Restart your Oculus Service. To do this: Open the Oculus app on your computer. Click Settings on the left side of the app. Click Beta at the top of the settings options. Click Restart Oculus. Edit: didn't notice the post above :D

I guess this is based on your ipd. By design the sweet spot must be larger to accommodate the full range of ipd measurement. I would guess if you're on the edge of this, then it would be smaller. Mine is 65, and sweet spot seems quite large to me, where I don't really have to get the fitting perfect.
-
Moving it in and out of course messes with the FOV and clarity. But I just quickly move mine a few mm, do what i need to do, then place it back, takes a second. You could always cut the nose piece to suit if you want a permanent solution.
-
Apparently the rubber nose thing is removable. Depending how your Rift fits your face, there is a small nose gap anyway. Which can be made larger or smaller by using the button on the set, and moving the display housing in and out.
-
I like the head strap, but as I've recently found out, when doing more active things like beat saber, it's very absorbent, so can get a little juicy when being active. Not great when your friend wants a go after. So the option of different straps for different occasions would be good.

My experience of the pass through so far, is its not really good for DCS. There's a nose gap in the headset, but its much smaller. Plus you can press the button and move the screen in and out, making the gap bigger and smaller. This is more convenient than using the pass through, as currently, it's blurry, a bit trippy, it doesn't augment DCS, so you're taken out of the game completely, and still can't see the keyboard clearly. It's good for seeing around the room, and augmenting Oculus home, might get a bit better with updates though.

I've had a couple of flickers, not white screen, but multi coloured like the set is disconnecting for a tiny fraction of a second. Didn't think much of it, as I've not seen it anywhere else outside of DCS. I'll drop my PD to see if it happens again, currently on 1.5
-
Now I've settled on a fitting I'm happy with, I now have a tiny nose gap. Just enough to see keyboard ok, but a bit more awkward than on CV1.
-
Non existent. One of the first things I noticed.
-
Can't comment on the F18, but in Elite they are barely there. So much so I can now change hud colours from VR green to pretty much anything I want, with no noticable rays.
-
If you use the VR zoom button then ye, it's readable. I usually use that for DDI for other things, as I find the map pointless.
-
Not while sat at the desk. Though my controllers had a few issues, but I was messing with the passthrough camera at the time, then the whole thing crashed at minute later. Tracking otherwise seems great.
-
The FOV is around the same. The headset moves in and out quite a bit, so if you fit it nice and tight, it's probably slightly bigger.

My early impressions so far (only messed around for 15 minutes in the Hornet).. Headset comfort is way better than the CV1 The cable is longer, but needs a tether to the back of the headset, as it gets in the way. There's no nose gap, though there is a button on the headset which allows you to move it in and out, so you can create one if you need it. I think that will be quite handy. The pass through camera is good, but keyboard isn't crystal clear. Once in, even when setting it up, the clarity and readability of the text became instantly noticable over the CV1. In the Hornet, now it's only running at 40fps, I seemingly could put the PD from 1.4, up to 1.7 and still hold my 40fps(1080ti) Image is much better, clear, colours look good, blacks look surprisingly good, SDE I couldn't notice to be fair. Things in the distance and ground detail were also much much better. Cockpit readability..Fuel gauge etc was clear, switch and dial labels were all perfectly clear, before i had to squint or lean in. DDI readability was better, but still have to lean in a bit to get it perfect, though more experimentation can be had, especially when the performance patch comes out. The map DDI is still an unreadable mess. It's a nice upgrade and one everyone will be happy with I think, though it's not life changing. EDIT: Some other bits, can't notice running at 80Hz at all. I've also just had a quick go of Elite, and that looks much better. SDE was noticable when in hyperspace, but only when looking at the star in front of you. Built in sound is crap, which is fine, as i run 5.1 normally, but my Astro A50's just about fit over the headband, but it is tight.
