Thanks for the input Hollywood, however I already contacted the developers and went back and forth for 4 days before their last reply of ' We don't use Voice Attack/VAICOM. They completely buried the lead in this case, if they would have said that on day one I would have pursued other solutions. I actually thought about the NATO callsigns as a possible route, I will try that and reply back my results. If this does not work I may be out of luck, I opened a case with ED they said go to the developers forum, that wasted 4 days and now your suggestion is to contact the developers so if the workaround you suggested does not work I guess I am out of luck. Thanks again for the reply.

ATC will not respond to J-11A via Easy Comms or Voice
FoxTrotAlpha691 replied to FoxTrotAlpha691's topic in Shenyang J-11A
Really? You should have stated that at the beginning of this thread and I would not have wasted my time here. If you don't use VA you were never qualified to answer my question in the first place, I could have moved on and saved us both some time. -
Understood, and you are right many people do call it VIACOM like the media company! I searched all the DCS aircraft folders I could find in my DCS installation and you are absolutely correct, I saw every aircraft except the J-11A. Even in the CHN folder there are DCS components but no folder for the J-11A itself. Looks like I may be out of luck on this one, I will wait and see if anyone else responds to the thread.

I have come to the same conclusions, and the fact that the J-11A is not part of the original FC3 aircraft makes sense. Perhaps they just did not completely model the ATC commands for the China assets pack. I have also experienced where DCS appears to take action on my voice command, if I say ' Request takeoff' I get no verbal response however if you open the comms menu at that point the next option is 'Abort takeoff' so obviously the command was received and executed just no verbal response from ATC. It appears that no one anticipated the J-11A would be used with Voice Attack, thanks for your responses and I will post if I get this resolved, lastly you mentioned VP several times in your response, what is VP? Did I miss something? Anyway, thanks again and have a great day.

Ok, deleted the export.lua file, restarted DCS and Voice Attack and still getting the same result. Also, at another user's suggestion, I ran DCS without Voice Attack and could communicate with ATC using Easy Comms menu, with VA running the Easy Comms menu does not function.
-
Excellent suggestion, I just tried this and the aircraft could communicate with ATC with no issue, so as I thought and your suggestion proved, the issue is with VAICOM plugin and not DCS. To be completely sure I will see if I can disable VAICOM and just try voice attack commands. Thank you again for your help and I have posted in the VAICOM forum now.

@Greyman, no sir I have not tried that but I will do so as soon as I am back at my machine. Thank you for the suggestion I will advise if it resolves my issue.

REINSTALLED Voice Attack/VAICOM PRO still no ATC response I performed an uninstall and fresh install of Voice Attack, VAICOM PRO and the Chatter add on, am still getting the same results, VA works will all aircraft except the J-11A and in the VA interface you can see that after acknowledging the aircraft as the J-11A there is no entry after the callsign but for the Su-27 flight you can see the callsign listed as Enfield 11. So for some reason VA sees the J-11A but does not assign a callsign to the pilot. In the latest log file at timestamp 2019-09-16 17:20:32.745, the same error is present as before where callname not found for Pilot #001. dcs.zip

ATC will not respond to J-11A Voice Attack/VAICOM PRO Good day, I am having an issue with the J-11A module not receiving any response from ATC regardless of the airfield that I am flying from. I do not have this issue with any other aircraft, I have run the repair function and it has not resolved the issue. I flew identical takeoff and landing missions out of Mozdok in the Su-27 then the J-11A to have a comparison flight. I checked the logs and noticed an error during the J-11A flight at timestamp 13:25:27.282 that says ' ALERT callname 1 not found for Pilot #001'. This error is not present in the log during the Su-27 flight and seems to be where the issue is occurring, I have the full log file as well as snips of each aircraft's entries in the log and will attach them here if possible. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. I have an open case with ED support (#89503 ) and their reply to me was to post this issue in the J-11A forum for DekaIronworks and their ultimate reply after several days of back and forth was that they don't use VA and that I should post here, something they could have said on day one. You can see in the main log file that for the J-11A flight the program cannot find a pilot number and is looking for two folders ( disabled_player and redirect_atc ). The only change made to my installation was I ran the command line to switch from the Stable branch to Openbeta so that I could access MP servers. All mods have been removed and I have run the repair function and am still getting the same results with the J-11A. ATC will not respond to J-11A via Easy Comms or Voice
FoxTrotAlpha691 replied to FoxTrotAlpha691's topic in Shenyang J-11A
Well that's the end of it then, because as I stated in my original post I opened a ticket with ED, I even included the ticket number in this thread. They responded that I should address my issue here in the forums, didn't you read that in my first post? I found out more on my own than I did consulting here and with ED, how could you not know how to troubleshoot your own module? VA and VAICOM work fine with every other FC3 aircraft except the J-11A so this issue is not with DCS or VA/VAICOM it is with the code I sent to you where this module is looking for a folder that does not exist, that is what I need assistance with resolving and I was sure you would be able to advise me on how to fix the issue. -
ATC will not respond to J-11A via Easy Comms or Voice
FoxTrotAlpha691 replied to FoxTrotAlpha691's topic in Shenyang J-11A
Performed the repair, booted up DCS and created a new mission with J-11A out of Mozdok, still getting the same result. I use Voice Attack and in the console I can see my player name ( FoxTrotAlpha) as entering the J-11A module but there is no entry after callsign. When I fly any other aircraft 'Enfield 1-1' shows as my callsign in the Voice Attack console. In the log file it shows this line: 2019-09-12 13:43:19.938 ERROR SOUND: can't load wave: "sounds\speech\sound\rus\common\disabled_player\callsign\mozdok" DCS is looking for folder name 'disabled_player' but when you follow this folder path the folder name is simply 'player' and not 'disabled_player', the deal is where is the line that says 'disabled_player' in the boot up or loading script? If this is changed to the correct folder name that should fix it, I just do not know where to go in the lua to make this type of correction. That is why I was thinking a uninstall/reinstall may fix it if the lua cannot be edited. -
ATC will not respond to J-11A via Easy Comms or Voice
FoxTrotAlpha691 replied to FoxTrotAlpha691's topic in Shenyang J-11A
Thank you for getting back to me, I have not removed any files purposely, however I did run the command line to switch my version from Stable to Openbeta so that I could access multi player servers. This seems to be the most likely culprit since I have not attempted to modify anything else in my DCS install. As a possible solution could I install DCS on a separate machine then copy the ATC sounds folder from that install and replace my corrupted folder this way? Or would that break DCS completely? Just a thought, thank you for taking time to look at this issue for me, I appreciate it. -

ATC will not respond to J-11A via Easy Comms or Voice
FoxTrotAlpha691 replied to FoxTrotAlpha691's topic in Shenyang J-11A
I only had one mod installed, english blue cockpit mod, uninstalled the mod, ran repair function on DCS, created a new mission from same airfield ( Mozdok ) and had the same result. I got no communication at all from ATC whether I used Easy Comms or the Voice Attack commands I have configured for all aircraft. The same commands got responses from ATC during the Su-27 flight with no issues. Having trouble attaching the log file, I get an invalid file error each time even though it is a txt document and is ony 57 KB in size. Not sure why I cannot attach it. -

Good day, I have trouble seeing the HUD in the A-10A and would like to increase the size of the font. I have seen many posts on how to do this in the A-10C by installing a mod or editing the LUA file at: mods\aircraft\A-10C\Cockpit\Scripts\HUD\Indicator\HUD_definitions.lua This is fine for the A-10C however I would like to do the same with the A-10A but am unable to locate the correct lua file, is anyone able to advise on where this file is located or if in fact this file exists for FC3 aircraft? ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are looking for Nyogel 767a for your HOTAS check out Overready, my order just arrived and my T16000M performance is night and day after applying it to the throttle rails. https://www.oveready.com/flashlight/nyogel-767aa-damping-grease-10g-tube/ I paid $15.00 USD for a 10g tube ( see photo ), it was $34.00 for a huge tube on Amazon, found this company and now I'm good to go.

DCS WORLD Summer 2019 sale dates
FoxTrotAlpha691 replied to FoxTrotAlpha691's topic in Community News
@Rudel chw, thanks for the confirmation, I thought I'd made a decent guess about the sale. -
Does anyone have any info or possibly an educated guess as to when the DCS WORLD summer sale may be? Past years sales hint at a mid June-early July start date.

I'm new to DCS, my question is about the text on the screen during the training missions. Often it obscures a good section of my HUD, is there any way to turn this text off and just listen to the tutorial?
