I started DCS World version 5 and OK'd the update to version 6. The update started, but then a message appeared saying the update exe file was corrupted. The update download continued until complete, but then another message appeared saying that the cloud bin was corrupt also. Following this the program would not run! I restored to an earlier point and now have version 5 running OK. On startup however, no auto update request appears. Can anyone assist a not very PC clever individual? Do I have to download version 6 and reinstall? I hope not! Or is there some way of clearing the corrupt version 6 files and recovering the update exe file. Many thanks in anticipation of the usual forum assistance.

Hi Zahry Bit of a mix up, I have been corresponding with Tomas via e-mail & come to the same conclusion re extending the slot. This is now done & all working OK. I have been impressed with the response to the problem & wish that all manufacturers had the same level of concern & assistance. Tonym

Hi Zahry Just examined the top connection in detail. The small rectangular plastic guide in the center of the male stick connector is centrally placed, whereas the hole in the female section of your extension is quite offset from center. No wonder it won't connect. My stick is one of the early ones. Has the connector changed?

Hi Zahry My extension arrived today. but as per many other posts on this thread the stick simply will not connect to the top socket. I am not in the business of cannibalising something that I have just paid £64.00 for, as so many others seem to be prepared to do. Do you not check that the connectors work before dispatch,as this seems to be an ongoing problem. What do you suggest that I do now? I still require an extension, but don't want to damage my stick.

Buying a stick extension I am interested in buying the Simpit stick extension. Do I go direct via NZ as I can't get any sense from the UK quoted agent "Elite Hobbies"?:huh:

Use with other aircraft Has anyone used the extended stick with say the A10C. I want to extend mine for the UH1, but don't want to have to keep changing the rig to suit different aircraft.

I found a discussion re adding a Simpit extension to the Warthog stick to improve helicopter control. Can't find the thread again. Can anyone point me to it.

Where can I find the new A10-A manual as per the latest update?

Update on throttle. All buttons seem to work, but no axis i.e no throttle or slider. Still mystified, any ideas out there?

My Warthog throttle stopped working, no lights, nothing. I reinstalled the latest driver and it now has lights etc, but the game does not recognise the throttle. the stick still works fine. Any suggestions to rectify the situation will be gratefully received.:(

I don't know how many A-10C fans have tried the series of training missions in the PC Pilot magazine. I have found them excellent for a less than proficient pilot. The JTAC mission in this month's issue is particularly good, as using the JTAC has until now always been a bit of a mystery.:)

Emibat, solved my problem too. Fed up waiting for the promised reply to my ticket (within 48 hours) I don't think so! I tried reloading the exe file using the one suggested down the list. (I didn't see this option previously) it overwrote the original, & now works fine without having entered any serial number. Worth a try!

Similar problem! I get the "incorrect hardware" message. My hardware has not changed or been upgraded. Had to reinstall World due to unexplained problems loading missions. I have downloaded the file "delete_all_activations_data_reg" but can't run it. My system says it is a media file. Can anyone help a PC illiterate? I submitted a ticket some days ago, but no reply yet. From what others have said the reply will be the .reg file so I will still be stuck.

DCS World has just updated to version 1.2.4.11855. I am trying to reinstall the Ka-50 but the only download available is version 1.2.4.11652. The exe says can't install this version into the latest World version 11855. I can't find this in the modules downloads. Can anyone tell me where to find it.

Sorry to ask a PC illiterate question, but I hope that someone can tell me how to install the AI Messerschmitt. The file I have downloaded is a rar file. I can't open it, so where do I put it. Clean answers only please.

Hi GAJ52 Sorry the circle is yellow, but sometimes turns blue when a hit is scored. Strange!

I agree with you that there really is no information re use of the targetting sights. By trial and error I have discovered that the way to use them is to line up your target with either the cross hairs or the junction of the "T" sight, using the zoomed view. Then lock the target. When locked, find the green part circle (usually above the cross hairs) center on this & fire. Check where the round lands (in zoomed view) & adjust elevation etc. accordingly. Hope this helps.

Repeated pressing of Z key only goes down to 0 gear. No reverse, is this a glitch in 1.2.3 ?

Problem solved! F7 doesn't give external views if TrackIR is on. Shame!

Up to recently F7 gave an external view of the current unit. Now it doesn't anymore. Am I doing something wrong, or is it a glitch?

The Cougar MFD's are brilliant & in my opinion a must!. They work straight from the box with the A10C. and although they don't have a display, the added realism of punching buttons instead of fiddling with the mouse is tremendous. It also adds a lot of speed when it is needed. The other great advantage, is that they are easily set up for BS controls & for other aircraft in Lock On, simply by making small panels for the centers with button assignments written on.
