DCS: F/A-18C Screenshots and Videos (NO DISCUSSION)
cptmrcalm replied to Vitormouraa's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Anyone fly with beginners? It cant be tough cant it. Having to explain everything and try and teach them tactics. But every so often, just roll with them and have fun. We had a muck about all 4 of us -and did everything wrong -but you know what? It was great fun! It's nice sometimes to just muck about. Made a video out of it. The newsreel at the beginning was us from a different perspective and then at the end, the same footage but of them going in with rockets and bombs. Even though I thought the flight was a disaster - it ended up making good content! -

Indeed. And Rudel_chw if immersion is really your thing, then this can only benefit you. If they do it right - Its another aspect that will drag you in. I understood what you meant, but it will go hand in hand. If done right, I am going to have to stick to a regimented routine of fly time. Otherwise I'll realise one day that the house is empty and the family has moved out!

A few people have mentioned that actually. Got a good conversation going over at reddit and you can see the passion there. Too interesting a topic not to discuss. Probably the biggest feature DCS World could offer and it can only be of benefit to us all. In all the projects i've worked on, I have always appreciated input. It's how you get to find out new things and fine tune the outcome is one of life's little pleasures! "what a good time to be alive" someone said regarding the Dynamic Campaign!

Yes very exciting. My message is about DCS world DC - not about BMS specifically Bignewy. Only mention it as it is all we have to compare it to. If we had many alternatives, it would be easier not to mention a specific simulation. But it is kind of essential to mention it as it gives us a basis to understand what we are looking at and we shouldn't shy away from a feature list (from which ever simulation offers a certain aspect of it) and use it as a basis to suggest/understand the offering from the talented folk at ED. I would imagine many wanting to chip in with their thoughts too and not be frightened to refer to something as a basis -even if from another maker. (I appreciate you want to avoid a "VS" conversation -but thats not my intention) Hope that clarifies that.

Last week, ED posted a video outlining the update to the Dynamic Campaign and it all sounded very promising. I hope they copy the BMS format. Whilst there has been discussion about it before in the past, we now have an update. With things having developed so much, I wondered what people thought of it now and what they still hope to see within it.

Let me know if anyone has managed to get this up and running without the need for an account. Interested to see if anyone else has a different experience than me!

Is it modelled that your gun can be taken out when you take a few bullets through the fuselage? I overshoot the f22 after I spray him with a few bullets, and he ends up in the perfect firing position but doesn't fire. Moments later. He falls apart. It's pretty cool that this seems to be modelled. Anyone else experienced that?

What fighter jet gives the F-16 the most trouble?
cptmrcalm replied to cptmrcalm's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I reckon so. I am going to do that one next I think.. if not next, soon. Did the F22 recently. Hard work -but finished now: haha.. nice! well done! good stuff. -

Lovely. Love the slow mo of them just missing one another! how they didnt collide? Slower paced this one rather than fast paced and energetic - but they have matched the pace to the music for sure! MIG29... you know... the more I am thinking about it, the more I realise it could be an ideal opponent for sure! Yes. The F22. I've got something lined up for that actually. I've done the 18, but the M2000 - there's another one! hmmm. thanks guys! -

Either I guess. Probably wouldnt hurt to do the BVR and then up close with me in the F16. I am using the F16 for the moment before I move away from it -Hence posting this here. So I guess an recommendation for each scenario - unless one opponent fits the bill for both. My mind thinks the F15C would be the hardest for the F16. Dogfighting, with guns only, is always an interesting fight to video-but certainly not one you find yourself in often on PVP servers as 99% of the time someone has a 9x or even an 120 ready to send your way -even when really close. But they do make for interesting footage and I do like to showcase a struggle. Would love to see a video showcasing an intense dogfight to see how others put it together. There are great videos out there, some I feel are better than mine, but I havent found a cinematic dogfight video yet -but I am sure someone can point me there. -
Looking for guidance/wisdom on settings for Cinematics
cptmrcalm replied to LHP's topic in Screenshots and Videos
I wish I had access to software to produce extra scenes for my videos. Some of these artists produce fantastic work -but they use assets outside of DCS. I only use OBS to catpure (free) and capcut (free version) -along with audacity (free) for my audio and its all using my DCS footage. (except for some sound stuff I source from all over the place -tweaking here and there to get the sound I want) ...but to think what I could achieve if I had adobe suite like I used to have years and years ago - and blender for extra 3d work... foaming at the mouth thinking about it! I dont have a high end PC either -so footage is limited to 2k. Tip: fly with whatever settings you like -as low as you like - and then, when you watch the track file to get your more controlled shots, whack the settings up to what you can afford. -
Dogfight Mode (Guns) - Boresight only auto-locks once?
cptmrcalm replied to Lixma 06's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
You know, I've never reported this, but I have always been aware of this behaviour. For years and years. Even with Falcon BMS 15 years ago. So much so, I have a habit whereby I always TMS up and down to cycle it through to make sure when going in for the kill. Even when I first activate it. As we all know - 1 second is life or death in a dogfight. Its muscle memory now -but I've always wondered if it is a bug or not.
