Before Top Gun, the US had a kill ratio of 2 to 1 in the early years of Vietnam. I would love to see DCS: Vietnam. And I'd love to see a DCS level A-6. And an A-4, and an F-4, and the A-1. :) While I'm dreaming, might as well add that it would be really cool to start a campaign pre-Top Gun, and as the years roll on, send the pilot to Top Gun for training before going back in theater. At this point, the AI would be upgraded to bring the AI kill ratio up to 12 to 1.

I have been running the GH campaign for the last few weeks -- started the campaign in 1.2.1 and have been playing ever since. When 1.2.2 came out, I started having radio problems with JTACs. I have not seen the problem with sending ground troops to their objectives. I can still get a mission success, but sometimes I have to find enemy ground without JTAC help and I can only see SOME of the enemy ground troops on the map. Otherwise I have to fly low and wait for someone to shoot at me or see that I'm being lased to locate them. But I DO have them available from the "F10" menu. I also have no trouble with calling CAS and CAP from the "F10" menu -- but, I only get that menu if friendly ground reports that they are awaiting orders. Checked hardware profile before and after plugging USB HDD. No change. I don't know what changed to make it work, but I'll take it. Thanks for your help. It's good to know that I'll have additional activations if I run into this again.

I may have skrewed up the sequence of events. Here they are in order: Activate on old PC. Deactivate on old PC. Activate on new PC. (thought I activated a second time, but that may have been Black Shark) Got another activation dialog in FC2 -- no doubt about this. CANCELED the dialog -- didn't want to burn Activations. Tried again without USB HDD and did not get the Activation dialog.

Thanks EtherealN, I went into my registry and saw the hardware profile and activation key there, so now I will be able to compare it with the steps you prescribed above. BTW, with the USB HDD removed I was able to load and run FC2 without getting the Activation dialog. Will do some experimenting when I get home that includes watching the hardware profile with and without the USB HDD.

Does my hardware profile change if I add an external USB HDD? I've been plugging and unplugging one for the last few days as I transition to the new PC.

No VMware or virtual box, ect. Using one motherboard (ASUS P6X58D) NIC - have not switched it. I use ESET for AV, but don't think that prevents writes to the registry. Used it on previous PC with no trouble. I do not have this problem with DCS:BS. Just checked the registry, the key is there...

I built a new PC. Everything is running great. Before installing FC2 on the new PC, I deactivated on the old PC. Then installed on the new PC, went through the activation and went to bed. Next morning, I started FC2 and got the activation dialog -- thought maybe it didn't work last night or something so I did it again. Flew a mission then went to do yard work. After a great day in the yard, I came in for a mission and I got the activation dialog again! WTF? I've only got 7 activation left now. What am I supposed to do after my 7th mission? Buy the game again? Win 7 Pro 64-bit i7-960

Had to re-install windows. This is all to get trackir working correctly in flaming cliffs. I think part of the problem was that I tried free track first and lomac was looking in \freetrack directory for trackir I don't know how I lost that dll, but I could not recover from that. Everything is working now.

So, I uninstalled FC, deleted the Eagle/lock on directory, rebooted and started the install of 1.0. At the end of install I get this: It allowed me to continue, but I'm still getting no textures... Anybody have any ideas?

Hi, TrackIR was not working in FC (even after I went and deleted the trackir.ini files in \Input and \config) so, I uninstalled lockon and re-installed lomac, then FC and finally the 12b patch. (Lost an activation in the process - that's another thing I don't understand. I didn't change machines or anything. This is the second time I've installed FC and I've only got 3 activations left??? WTF) TrackIR is now working wonderfully, but the graphics look like there are no textures. Also I didn't see the su-25T plane in the opening screen. When I flew the A-10, I saw the mirrors and the hud info (pitch ladder, alt, speed, etc), but there were no cockpit instruments. Outside, the aircraft just looked like the grey 3d model with no texture and the ground outside was totally plain. I saw some horrible looking trees and some mountains in the distance. I had this installed an running just fine for the last few weeks on this machine: Vista 64-bit intel i7 processor 4G ram gtx285 1G resolution is set to 1920 x 1080 everything set to high/max Thanks in advance -- I'm going for some guiness!!:joystick:
