  1. Regarding MT - have things improved on new intel chips using 16 e-cores? I could never get MT in VR to reliably start (i9 13900K) - about 70% of the time my pc would freeze loading a mission…and yes i waited AND WAITED…so i finally bit the bullet and disabled all e-cores. Now it works and loads up missions…every time. Any work done in this area? I’ll keep flying without e-cores but i sure would like to w them on. Will be testing things out when i get back home in a couple hours…
  2. Since I recently purchased a new STECS/Dual-THQ setup I decided to also take the plunge on an MCG Ultimate Grip for my MkIII base. It will all arrive tomorrow via FedEx, so I'm selling my MCG Pro Grip along with the twist adapter - for $70 USD - and I'll even pay for shipping in the continental USA. Outside of USA buyer will have to pay for shipping via their preferred method. Grip is in great shape with all buttons and axis working and no visible defects or scratches. It was purchased in June 2020 and I would say I'm a light user...it certainly has not been worn out with constant heavy use. Venmo or CashApp are both accepted forms of payment. I'll be able to ship the grip out by end of week. Any takers? Gino
  3. I have searched the manual a few times but still get very little description on what INST mode is used for vs. NAV mode. Can anyone describe the differences and when you would use one vs another? My first guess is INST is used in IMC conditions for navigation but i have no clue if that's correct or what that mode actually changes vs nav mode? Thanks in advance!
  4. @slughead I have had a difficult time getting HTCC to work even going through the installation directions thoroughly and double checking settings in my QP. I load up DCS and don't get any indicators for my "input" point even after waving my hand. Is there ANYTHING more thorough on instructions to set this up to work? I've installed HTCC, configured it for virtual touchscreen...enabled hand tracking (direct touch disabled though) and load up DCS and nada. Can only use my mouse as usual. any ideas?
  5. OK so after the choppy performance with FR vs without, I deleted all shader cache and performed a slow repair (including delete extra files) via skatezilla tool then deleted options.lua. Rebooted PC and set up options again after loading up DCS. Tried again with same scenario and options (F-18/Free Flight/Persian Gulf) and instantly noticed the choppies were gone. Flew around a few more minutes and remained smooth. Cranked up options and still smooth as silk SO I seem to have fixed my choppiness issue. Hope that helps others with the same issue.
  6. @slughead I noticed this too and then double checked my install and setup...I had enabled eye tracking in the oculus settings (inside VR) but I missed the instruction to enable "Eye tracking over Oculus Link" under Developer Runtime Features (Beta tab in Oculus Home). Now the darker rectangle is gone and I can see foveated rendering working as I move my eyes. HOWEVER, I am getting choppy performance now. Was smooth as silk before using OXR Toolkit...using 72Hz and 1.0 resolution in Oculus settings. No supersampling. 2X MSAA, medium shadows, no land shadows, medium distance. Should not be choppy. 13900K with 4090. I'll have to investigate or go back to using OXR Toolkit without foveated rendering. The scene DOES look really nice!
  7. So I fire up my new Viper after setting up my controls and I'm sitting on the ramp in VR adjusting my default head position - looking around admiring the cockpit - and something catches my eye...I see my F-16's shadow on the tarmac and for the first time notice my virtual head/helmet shadow is actually moving and changing to mirror my exact head movements! swiveling, moving right to left, looking up and down...leaning forward...it was surreal and maybe that has always been there but it took me by surprise and made me smile as big as my brand new cockpit!
