I agree with the OP, to a degree.. i switch the air source off to hear the turbines better and it sounds quite good.. I hope HB can improve on the sounds of sidewinder launches (only launched AIM-9's so far) and bomb drops because they just sound like hollywood effects. Everything else is quite an outstanding job by the HB team.

I only have a GTX1060 3Gb, i7-4790 (4Ghz), 16G Ram and have solid 60FPS (limited to 60 in cfg). Med-High settings and really happy with the performance. :)

I remember there was a "cockpit shake" slider you could adjust, maybe in the special tab? Sorry not in a position to check atm.

Australia chose it over the F-16 as the primary fighter, the main reasons were reliability and redundancy (twin engine). :smilewink:

My memory is sketchy on this but i recall my father (F/A-18 manufacturing) saying something about this so i dug a little.
Article below explains corrosion is like a chemical process similar to a battery. In this case the salt water (Navy aircraft) acts as an electrolyte and the different materials used in the construction act as the anode and cathode.

I think this is some sort of grounding point where the corrosion accumulates, minimizing corrosion elsewhere. Hope someone with a better understanding can help as this is just my suspicion.

I'm confused why the pilot shot the 9X at half a mile, then followed up with a 120?? makes no sense.

It was mentioned by Wags somewhere (sorry cant recall exactly where) that the engineer assigned to the FM is busy with some other systems/weapons, he will return to the FM when those are done.

Point to note- Different materials conduct / retain heat at different rates. There's a reason aluminum is always used to make heat sinks.

Strange, my experience was the other way around. Instructor did the takeoff, and let me fly the rest of the flight (this is my first hour mind you). He said I was excellent at straight and level and as well as looking outside instead of at gauges. Then he let me land the plane (at an international airport), on my first flight. Plane was a 60s Piper Cherokee.
My experience was the same. I've only flown RL a handful of times in a Cessna 172. My last flight basically solo'd the whole flight. Instructor was impressed :D

Winter doesn't even start until the 21st of December, so no, it won't be early December.
Release was guaranteed before the end of Winter, target release date is in December.

Oh I don't know...Pete Bonanni doesn't think much of the Turkey as a BFMer.
I suspect the turkeys roll rate would be a weak point in BFM.. Wouldn't want to be caught in scissors with an F-16.

Someone else may want to chime in, but I'm pretty sure you can not manually adjust the elevator trim unless you're using half or full flaps.
You most certainly can trim elevator with flaps auto in DCS & IRL. The Blue Angels fly their routine nose trimmed down. :)

BA#7 give it alittle down trim so it forces me to pull alittle more then I let off the pull once I am leave the ground and bring up the gear. Try testing out the trim down (Push the Trim Hat forward for downward trim)
Blue Angels do this. Fly nose trimmed down.

I just want an F18 that can operate in multiplayer like an F18C is capable of.
Grab a ticket and wait in line. I don't mean to be rude but doesn't everyone want this? This is early access and there is nothing more frustrating for me to read all the complaints from "Top Guns" complaining that their F/A-18 is not as capable in MP as the next a/c.
Also i'll add that systems modeling is not about realistic or unrealistic procedures or actions from the pilot. Example.. - A pilot would never let this happen so dont simulate it.. DCS is beyond that in the sense that ED is trying to simulate the way the systems operate regardless of whether its a realistic action by the pilot or not. Totally irrelevant.

Trailing edge flaps come down as a function of airspeed and from my tests this works fine in DCS. Flap movement is linear in ranges from 230 down to 195knots where you will get full 30deg flaps in HALF for example.

2.8.2.6 Spin Recovery System. The spin recovery system, when engaged, puts the flight controls in a spin recovery mode (SRM). This mode, unlike CAS, gives the pilot full aileron, rudder and stabilator authority without any control surface interconnects and all rate and acceleration feedbacks are removed. The leading edge flaps are driven to 33° ±1° down and the trailing edge flaps are driven to 0° ±1°.
Spin recovery system engagement depends on the position of the spin recovery switch.

I got called on my taxi speed being too high, how can we know we're doing 45 before getting booted out?
48kts is 55mph... try looking outside the pit for a speed reference :)

Some great comments here. I disagree with people saying the F-15 is arcadey, in term of avionics sure it is but in terms of ACM it still uses a PFM so the flight model should be consistent with the real deal.
