So I just start up on a ramp in a multiserver and takeoff on my own and start killing stuff? What is a good video for learning multiplayer procedures?

I've been practicing so much since this last post, I am seeing air combat when I sleep now, and I am always not doing anything right, haha. Anyone else get this? I suppose I'll know when I am there when I am dreaming about DCS and everything is going smoothly.

So after investing a ton of money in this hobby and trying to figure all this out, I am realizing I suck at air combat. I've no idea how you guys get to making youtube videos of complete missions and campaigns in multiplayer, from where I am at - flying around like an idiot being blasted by missiles I didnt even know were pointed at me. I can get a bomb on target in my A-10, F-18 and P-51, but I'm totally lost when it comes to any kind of air to air stuff. I dont even know how to practice to figure it out. I've watched a lot of videos about it, and I just dont see the combat picture, despite of having real world aviation experience and decades of flight sim use. Any advice would be appreciated.

Not working in VR for me. I'm spent. Ive been trying to get this to display right for two days now. I'm done. Guess I'll just have to do it the hard way. Thanks anyway.

Here's my log. No problems when I last used the sim. Today it says "important files are damaged, please repair". What gives? Im sure you need more information. What that might be I have no idea so let me know please. Using Steam version. I tried checking file integrity. "Select the F10 menu to select easy, medium or hard." I hit F10 and the tactical map pops up. There is no window to select easy, medium, or hard.

On your forums, I cannot get past the "start new topic" button. It wont let me do anything to fill out the application. Edit - have to register first I got it. Edit again - I guess I dont got it because I dont see any application in the application section. I only see something called a "guest pass" of which I have no idea if that is what I am supposed to be looking for. I was looking to join a squadron. I did not want to be a guest. Unless that is your SOP. But I didnt see any instructions indicating this.

Lurker - Yeah I have a 2TB Samsung 870 SD it is installed on. Cooling is an Corsair H100i Pro XT RGB. RAM running at rated speed - Not sure, attached is a photo of what CPUID is telling me. This thing was optimized for gaming when it came from the factory last month. Everything has been updated in the last two weeks. I turned my MSAA from 4x to 2x and turned terrain shadows off. I'll mess with it a bit and see what happens. Thanks everyone above for the help. I'll check back.

I just bought a new computer thinking it would suffice to play DCS and other flight sims. I have an RTX2080 Super with a i9-10900x with 32GB of RAM. I am seeing these videos on YT and the graphics and frame-rates are excellent. I have all my settings maxed and while it looks pretty good, my frame rates are pretty bad. I am using Oculus Rift S so I expect some graphics reduction there, but I am talking about on my monitor. So where did I screw up buying this new computer? I am quite disappointed. Everyone told me my new system would be pretty much "top of the line" but I certainly am not seeing it with any of my flight sims. I was inclined to believe the technology just isnt there yet to run at max settings with good frame rates, but I see others with "lesser" systems running everything just fine. Even my monitor is new, 4k with G-sync. And what system should I have bought if not this one? Thanks, AG -And if this is the wrong place to ask, please let me know. I'm having this problem. Someone said to remove the network.vault file from the saved games folder. I tried that and it didn't work. I can't sign into the game at startup but I can sign in here. What's up with this? EDIT - Solved = can't use your email, have to use your user name.

I bought DCS about a year ago but my rig wouldn't run it very well. So, I finally got Oculus Rift S, a new killer computer and voice attack. I'll be getting a good HOTAS soon but I have the HOTAS 4 at the moment. I found VA profiles for my P51 and FA-18C, but I am not sure about the new A-10CII. Does anyone have a up to date VA profile or link for one? Also looking to dive into DCS seriously learning all three of my a/c. Been using MSFS since about '83 and have maybe 50k hours on that sim. Any ideas on squadrons to join who fly a lot and would be helpful with training? I like joking and all, but I am older (51) and I am a more serious-type person I guess lol. I'm former military, Army. Not looking for a lot of goofing and grab-azzing around with kids on multiplayer, but a more serious study of this sim. Thanks, Andrew (Gryper)
