I was thinking more in the lines of helicopter rudder losing authority as speed increases.
Anyway, we'll see with the Mig 15, if it behaves the same way then we'll know that BSTs FM has problems.
-
Could be that the FM dll is based on the helicopter FM dll and they have left stuff in there that they shouldn't?

Hi remon.
You must not simply rename the .dl_ file to a .dll file. You have to expand it using a command prompt. See here for instructions on how to do it:
http://www.kn00tcn.net/site/how-to-extract-dlls-from-amd-catalyst-driver-packages/
Hope this helps remon.

Milli
"'expand' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."
EDIT: Nevermind, it seems like you can open these files with 7zip.
And thanks for the help.

A bit late on this.
What I do is take the atiumd64.dl_ ( there isn't an atiumd64.dll in the rar) and put it on the DCS bin folder as said. If i leave it as a .dl_ it does nothing, if I rename it to atiumd64.dll the game crashes immidiately before the launcher loads. Do I have to do anything else?
Also, no SweetFX, no ENB, and I'm running 14.8.

Belsimtek release F86, mig-15 and maybe cobra but not finish the Mi8!
the f86 is in beta and mig15 come...
All dev need focus beta version and after build other module!
$$$$......
this is a major problem of ED and tiers part
I believe that if they wanted money they'd choose a different profession or subject.
-
Why not use DSR in the NVIDIA panel? If ED would integrate such an option, they would need to test it for a few months to make sure it doesn't break anything. If it won't work with ATI cards or some of the rigs everybody would start ranting at ED again...
I don't find it too hard to flip a setting in the driver...
As I said, Downsampling (DSR in essence) isn't something that Nvidia invented. It is the earlier form of anti aliasing, not used widely since MSAA was invented. Nvidia supports it, AMD supports it, and they do so since they started making gpus. All the games I mentioned support it without compatibility problems.
-
its so weird when i just do old school down sampling my frame rate and gpu usage is extremely better in sli compared to dsr. Maybe the 900 series cards do have some 1 and 0 advantages written into the drivers
Do you have an AMD card? If so, how do you do the downsample?
-
Right, so DCS 2 hasn't even been SEEN yet and you are asking about support for drivers that were just released by Nividia in the last few weeks?
Seriously?
No, I am quite certain that last week released technology that hasn't made it to the masses is NOT supported at this time...
GOOD GOD PEOPLE
It's not support for drivers. Downsampling isn't something new that Nvidia made up just now. The Arma series supports it in their graphic options menu, as you can choose to render in a higher resolution than your screen, Battlefield 4 does too, the Witcher has it as ubersampling, and a few other games.
Since people in the DSR thread in the PC Hardware and Related Software forum are reporting that it raises the distance you can spot planes, he's just asking if they can put an option like this in the game.
-
ED could add this as an in game feature, since DSR is the same thing as supersampling, downsampling or FSAA. Just add an option like in Arma 3 and Battlefield 4 to increase the rendering resolution.
Also, any of you here that play Cliffs of Dover, it should resolve the antialiasing problems that game has.

It's true but why would they include it in the control set up? could it be a future project?
Probably they copied the controls of the Ka-50 and forgot to remove the ones not used?
-
There are speculations that it's a 21:9 screen. Samsung patented one of them back in March.
http://www.feelthree.com/2014/09/crescent-bay-using-new-219-samsung-screen/
and, the Crescent Bay has oval optics.

Hey guys I have a question about nvida cards, please forgive me if this has been answered else where. I read that DCS doesn't support SLI, however when I SLI my two 760's and look at the SLI tracker, and my "MSI afterburner" program. DCS is using both cards and I get about 30FPS increase. If anyone can shed some quick light on this I'd be grateful.
DCS doesn't support Crossfire. I believe it supports SLI.

Only thing is heavy head turning in the cockpit, therefore a constant 75fps would be better (edge hopefully...)
Do you mean there is still heavy tearing when you turn your head around?
-
I think it's 1300 mph, right?
-
Yep, forcing something like x8 or x16 AF in CCC can have a very bad effect on framerates in DCS.
I can't believe that any modern machine or video game can have problems with AF. Did you mean AA?

;2143591']Hi guys,
I noticed that when I start advancing the throttle at the same time some right rudder is being applied as if the throttle is also bound to the rudder axis. I have checked and double checked if this is the case but the throttle and rudder both have their own separate axis. I also made sure the auto rudder and take off assistance are both unchecked.
Any thought about this behaviour?
Thanks,
Razorback
The rudder is trimmed (for cruise speed at 2200-2400 rpm, I think they said) on the ground. That's what you probably see.
http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2138446&postcount=1
"Currently in DCS the rudder is balanced for cruise at 2200-2400 rpm, though the required rudder input is small for the higher power ratings and corresponding speeds."
-
That smells bad, really
What do you mean?
-
I just edumacted myself 2014 tvs seem to have true 120hz outputs, very nice
Where did you read that?

So you consider creating internal model of this complexity is justified without working damage tracing inside AC? I think not -- and the problem isn't in some non-pretty visuals. In CLoD, Il-2 or RoF you knew that to hit something -- be it engine, fuel tank, structure element or hydraulic stuff -- you actually must put a bullet or shrapnel through it. And you knew there is a whole lot of ways to do it. So what is the point of carefully and correctly modelling, say, a battery if you can't put a bullet through it to damage it directly? Isn't it quicker then to just add a random effect corresponding to power loss when hit, without sacrificing realism of what's happening but speeding up the aircraft creation process?
I'm guessing that you're talking about ballistics and penetration modelling and hit boxes when you speak about internal model. Is there a quote by any dev that things don't work that way? From what I understand is up to the plane creator to make hit boxes, or cells, and link certain parts with certain effects on the plane. For example, I'd consider the P-51 not losing fuel when the tank gets hit more of a bug than anything else.
About the visual aspect of the damage modelling, I'll repost here an older video by VEAO.

I bought and downloaded the module, I launched DCS world and was promted to updated to 1.2.9. It downloaded and appeared to install correctly. I then tried to install the Sabre module, and that was my first sign of trouble... Installer said I was still on 1.2.8. I launched the game and the bottom right still says 1.2.8.27915, but there is a F-86 icon now... Wtf.... Also I have tried running the updater again (it just pops up for a second then dissappears), running repair, and even trying DOS commands. Extremely frustrated...
EDIT: also I've never messed with the beta stuff so I am assuming I am using the normal version.
Go to the In Game Module Manager and see if you can download it from there.
-
Fixed it.
Go to the
\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircrafts\TF-51D\Input\TF-51D\headtracker
folder and copy the default.ini file found there. Then go to
\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircrafts\F-86\Input\F-86F\headtracker
and paste the copied file, replacing the older default.ini file.
Thanks to Skate for the idea.

I tried the command promt to update my DCS and it still did not work =/
Are you running the beta? I think only the beta clients update to 1.2.9 for now.

My TrackIR is recognized. Is it detected in the settings? Cause shouldn't you be able to assign it in the control settings?
Anyways, for some reason I cannot move my head down on the Y axis. I can go up, left, right, forwards, backwards and tilt my head. For some reason I cannot move my head down on the Y axis, which makes it difficult to read some of the text in the cockpit
The only module it has problems with is the F-86, all the other planes can use it.

My headtracker (Freetrack) isn't recognised, only by F-86. Anyone having this problem?

As I said, expand isn't recognized as a command in my system. On the other hand, 7zip, unlike winrar, opens .dl_ files as any other common compressed file.
