  1. This is going to be another beautiful addition to our DCS helicopter hangar.  So looking forward to flying this beauty in missions.  We are starting to really see some nice variety in helicopters in DCS.  We've got the heavy gunships, light attack-recon, transport-assault, heavy lifters are coming like the Chinook.  I would only hope one day to get some medium lifters-transport like Blackhawk or Puma etc.

You got to love where DCS is heading.

  2. Interesting.  I just came to this thread seeking any resports of bugs regarding radios.  I just built a mission where I and my AI wingman are enroute to bomb some targets.  I've double checked the radio frequencies in the mission editor and everything checks out.

But, for the life of me I cannot get my AI wingman to respond to my radio commands.

I'm on "Stable Release" by the way.

ILS is a bit frustrating at the moment, at least in some map/module combinations with no clear issue apparent as it seems

Yeah, I'm pretty confused regarding this issue and the Harrier.  It should work but I just cannot get it to work.  Something is definitely not right.

  4. Yep, been communicating with another virtual pilot who confirms this as well.  Basically, only Caucuses map works with the Harrier's AWLS.  The other virtual pilot got another airfield to work with the AWLS, but he had to do some Lua Scripting.  I don't doubt your statement about the Harrier being microwave based but IMHO, the manuals of the Harrier should be changed then since it's a bit confusing reading this stuff and then find out they are not working on certain maps or airfields.

I wonder what developers would say on this issue.  Cheers.

  5. I've actually set wind speed in my missions to around 6-8 knots.  Only tried Akrotiri in Syria map and Creech in Nevada map.  Neither work in that I don't get any signal from the airport to my aircraft's systems.  I tried the other night on Caucuses map coming into Kobuleti and that worked.  Something is not right.  I am setting AWLS system correctly.

  6. Been relearning the Harrier of late.  Love this module.  I am running "Stable Version" of DCS.  Question.  Is the AWLS system working for this module, on all maps?  I've tried both Nevada and Syria map and I for the life of me cannot get it to work.  I've checked forums here and I see there is a AWLS thread but it is unclear how the system works.  I've referenced both RAZBAM's manual and Chuck's Guide but still am not getting signals or indications I'm supposed to in the HUD.

I must be either missing something simple or maybe broken?  Any help or advice would be most appreciated.  Cheers.

  7. I believe I experience this the other night but in a different module, specifically the Mig-19P.  I was in a dogfight, was down low pointing my nose at the ground and noticed a pretty severe frame rate drops.  Quickly turned radar off, all was well and works perfectly up at high altitude.  Just thought I'd share this since it may be a "core code" thing that ED needs to deal with.

  8. I fly the Mig-21bis a lot and I would concur what Ala13_ManOWar has stated.  Best to leave on "Auto."  Mr_sukebe, do you happen to read any of the "Chuck's Guides?"  He has several references to the nose cone and how it operates in his Mig-21Bis Guide.  If you haven't, you might want to check out the guide.  There are a lot of gems of information in there on the DCS Mig-21Bis.

  9. Well one thing I would suggest is check your key-bindings for your HOTAS system.  Being a "newb", you may have set your key bindings while default key bindings were already in there, thus several sets of key bindings may be working against one another.  When-ever I fly a new module and am setting up my HOTAS key bindings, I always clear the default bindings so I'm not having any original bindings screwing things up.  Hope this helps.
