  1. Hi Guys, Silly questions... Could anyone, please: 1) translate the title of that song (and the band's name)? 2) explain to me how both the song's title and the band's name is pronounced? (an audio file would be great!) 3) provide me with links to more work from this band? Thanks in advance,
  2. Nope, they don't have 33's as of yet. And I didn't say so either... They also feature the blueish camo, check Cope India 2006, though I'd prefer to have the grey one. I'm still looking so if any pops up, please let me know. Thanks!
  3. Anyone knows where I can get one??
  4. Hey Matt, Tnx for the info. The sequence seems pretty logical to me, specially if the gfx (or at least environment) engine developed for Tank Killers serves as the foundation for the F-16 project. Good luck!
  5. I'm amazed by this short movie!! It's the best air combat sequence (and more believable) since Top Gun. Thanks for this great link. Does anybody know where it belongs to? /where it comes from? This has been professionally filmed and edited. It's gotta be a part of something bigger. Any clues anyone?
  6. Looking forward to it, Spearsd!
  7. Bogey! IFF sqwak! Identify Friend or Foe?
  8.    Amazing!!!! This is the kind of material that populates some cool short movie festivals. Great job!!
  9. BIOLOG, you fool!!!!
  10. Thanks a lot Alfa and SwingKid, I appreciate both your posts. The only comment I'll make to round this up is that what you both said will hopefully be useful to lots of people. People who's not around for a long time. Being around this very dilemma posed by sims to us for over 11 years now, I've learned my lessons. The only point I do not agree totally with is that SLI is one of those constant evolutions... stuff we see every 6 months or so. In my opinion, it is not! SLI, when first introduced by 3DFX, was a great leap. SLI reintroduced by nVidia today is, again, a great leap. Marketing and production wise (and I've had my share of business management), it is not the kind of technology I would look at as just "another one", if I were on ED's shoes. But... I'm not. So, as someone I know used to say, we have two options: we wait or... we wait. Thanks,
  11. Thanks a lot Alfa! It's really nice to see someone with a positive attitude! Since you offered, I'll gladly accept your help. One thing that has been bugging me a lot is about LOMAC and SLI. I am waiting on the devs position to make a buying decision. A direct yes or no will do it. If no, or maybe, some background info would be appreciated, if possible. It seems, I'm not the only one interested in this subject: SLI and LOMAC 1 SLI and LOMAC 2 Thanks for your efforts,
  12. BIOLOG, Yes, I see your point, but I believe (not sure, of course) the difference is measured in months, not years. That's I used the word "approximately" in my original message. But thanks for your comments anyways. :) Dmut, It seems you missed that part when I asked all the wannabe software developers to spare me, right?
  13. Swing Kid, Thanks for your clarification. Well taken. Unfortunately, as foreseen by the both of us, it seems this will become a "devless" topic... so, I'm out.
  14. Hey SwingKid, I agree with you... partially... to me, everything in life is *balance*! Even quality I want in a nice quantity. The only "bad" thing implied by your statement is that if Chizh's 38 messages in the English forum are quality filled (since that's what matters according to you), does that mean he is (sorry) BSing on the Russian forum??? I don't think so... Even not understanding a single word in Russian, my guess is that his other 554 messages are probably very interesting... If this thread goes unnoticed, I'll be happier than if it, as others before it, becomes a series of posts of LOMAC fans discussing what if's instead of hearing directly from the devs.
  15. Hi Chizh, First off, this is not a rant or a complaint, just a plea from a single individual who doesn't even claim to have the support of any other member in this forum (although there might be some! :D ). So, all wanna-be's software developers and the like, please, spare me. Since the English forum was opened, I come here often since I understand this is the *true* home for all things LOMAC from now on. Most of my time is spent lurking around, trying to gather knowledge and enjoy my time. I understand ED is a Russian software house (and takes great pride on it!) and now that it is going solo, there is a natural tendency to leaning more and more towards the Russian market. Unfortunately, this is happening a bit in detriment of the rest of the world. I am a huge fan of the whole Flanker series, since day one, and always fought my small battle to make it as a big hit as it could possibly be. I even played a small part in the release of Flanker 2 in Brazil (I believe Carl Norman could atest to that, right Carl? ) Anyways, what I am trying to say is that the only thing I would rank as a downgrade since Ubi times is the kind of interaction between the community and someone representing the devs. I guess I got accostumed to the luxury of having Carl or Matt as a regular presence in the forum... I totally understand that now, as a "smaller shop", or at least without having the "support" of a big publisher, ED has to maximize its resources, namely human resources. In no way am I asking ED to take someone out of the production chain to come here and spend time babbling with all of us, but a more frequent presence would be greatly appreciated and surely work for a broader, happier customer base this side of the Greenwich. A simple fact to back up my plea is the fact that if one ignores all the Russian areas, keeping only the "LockOn Rus" and searches for posts you specifically have written, the number would amount to 554 posts while in the approximately same period, the English counterpart received mere 38 posts... So, by all means, keep doing your stuff!!! But when you have some time to spare, it would be great if you and others from ED could share a little bit more with us, the infamous non-Russian speaking supporters of LOMAC. Keep up the great work!
  16. Hey spearsd, you got me all wrong... it's prolly my poor English, sorry... Anyways, as I said before, I *had* understood your point and agree with it totally. After your overclocking, I would also be expecting a greater performance increase for such a (supposedly) CPU bound sim. What I was trying to say about the one PCB SLI solution offered by Gigabyte, is that it would be interesting to try to break up the problem LOMAC has with SLI in two: hardware and software. The idea would be forgetting about the option to disable SLI in nVidia's driver and see if LOMAC would perform as a dual GT6600 or as a single (regardless of how this performance compares to any other board). If LOMAC performs with only one GPU, nothing's new. But if it performs with both GPU's, I guess we would be much closer to a solution for the regular SLI... the programming changes might not be so complicated after all!!!! Of course, much simpler than that would be if someone from the dev team could take 5/10 minutes to tell us what's going on and what the plans are. It's just me being overcurious about this LOMAC/SLI thing...
  17. Hi Tom, Nice to see you here! :) How's part two coming along??? The avi tool is great, but still, for bugs, as they say in Top Gun, "the list is long and distinguished!" :P C'mon people!! Speak your mind!! Let the devs know what the problems are, so we can have greater and greater movies being published.
  18. speards, I understand your point, but there's also the possibility that your SLI shows no improvement in LOMAC because LOMAC is incompatible with SLI. If that's the case, it is ok for you since LOMAC could simply disregard the second board and work based on the first one. But if that's case, what would LOMAC do when you can't "undo" the SLI?? At least hardware wise?? Maybe just deselecting the SLI option in nVidia's driver would do for the the 3D1, but I'd still be willing to hear from someone with hands-on experience with this board.
  19. spearsd, Your point seems to be well substantiated. The performance increase after cpu overclocking seems negligible. One thing I've been asking myself since you have reported your findings is how would LOMAC perform with a Gigabyte 3D1, the one PCB SLI'ed GT6600??? :?: :?: :?: :?:
  20. True, but yet, be it a yes or a no, I would love if the devs could jump in and give us a hint about their plans... :?
  21. Hey yeasty, I agree with most everything you said and you touched a point which I've been battling for since the Monster3D days..."perceptible performance". In average, people only see frame rate differences up to 60fps. Beyond that, it really doesn't make a difference (except for the priveleged ones who can detect differences up to 70fps). But in my opinion, you've failed to address 2 instances which make SLI very desirable today: 1) Games which are not CPU, but graphics bound - In this case the *lowest FPS* mark benefits a lot from SLI. Let's say you play game X with one GT6800 and you're getting an average 60 fps. If you hook up another GT6800 you achieve 90 fps... no biggie... But, if your lowest FPS in the most gfx effects intensive and objects crowded scenes with just one board is 20 FPS, than SLI would surely do the trick to keep you above the magical 30 FPS at all times!! 2) Graphics quality and resolution - As implied, people who are getting 80, 90 FPS on their games, might as well trade those 30 extra FPS for in-game higher graphics settings, on-video board features like FSAA and anisotropic filtering or higher resolution. As for your "bugdet conscious", can you read pathological early adopter maniac??
  22. Hi All, Thanks to several members, we've seen a great increase in LOMAC movies on the net. They are not only great fun but also a great marketing tool!! Sometime ago, when Carl Norman was directly involved with LOMAC, he created a thread at the Ubi forum invinting users to bring suggestions for the whole movie making proccess. The topic generated some very interesting comments which you can find here. Unfortunately, the thread was left to abandonment and the community never heard back from the developers. I would like to try and "resuscitate" this thread, bringing it over here. Further comments from the community and the devs are welcome!
  23. Wow... I guess you just answered the question I posted on the other topic about games taking advantage of SLI or not... And BTW, I appreciate when one can keep his/her sense of humor under most circumstances... specially after spending big bucks just to realize it was useless for LOMAC... :D Thank God for noodles!!!
  24. I agree with you GGTharos. I, myself, will have to go to hell and back to afford it now but don't loose perspective... prices drop and the sooner the support to SLI is implemented, the better. Could someone enlighten me about one SLI question? This issue with SLI and LOMAC, the fact that the latter doesn't derive any benefits from the first... is this a common scenario with other games/sims? Which other games face the same problem? I ask so because if, for instance, 90% of games suffer the same problem and considering what GGTharos said, maybe devs shouldn't spend time on this. But if it's the other way around, I would like to know why the devs couldn't or shouldn't fix this issue. Anyways, it would be wonderful to hear directly from them.
