  1. That's my thinking. In general I'm trying to go for the top. I got the Trident Z5 6400c32 2x32. While not the best 64GB kit available, they're pretty close since AFAIK I got the A-die. I'd expect single digit performance gain with 48 vs 64 gigs, which I would argue can be noticeable.. Check this out as example: https://youtu.be/ghJb0ttZMV4 . Truth be told I'm already giving up performance in virtually all other games (not going 32GB way, which is undoubtedly the fastest). I just wonder whether 48 vs 64 can really make a difference. From what I've read it seems like 48 can be balancing near the edge, while 64 would providde some margin. Will probably stay with this choice.. Although it keeps bogging me. EDIT: As for the CPU I'm talking agnostically to focus on the memory only, the rest of the system being off topic really. You can always find a bottleneck
  2. So, I'm rebuilding my PC. I could get definitely faster 48GB or slower 64GB. It's just physics, nothing specific to particular hardware (aiming for Hynix A-die anyway), generally if you want to hit the absolute top speed you can't go more than 32GB. So, what would you choose? 64 or a bit faster 48?
  3. Oh yeah, the will NOT from the last sentence makes more sense
  4. Since I can't decide for half a year alrready, I would greatly appreciate if you could share some pointers concerning the Intel/AMD dillema here. Aiming for DCS in VR, what would you choose? If you could build a top-end system from scratch.
  5. Oh yes and the GPU bench seems normal, but now I'm worried about the mentioned above fps difference.
  6. Yp, I did, but the new TMI made it 1 degree C worse. I think i just bought a cheap paste. I still intend to buy a new cooling, thats 100% needed (the quiet is very important to me). What worries me more is that a friend with similar setup (only i7 instead of i5 and much faster ram and better mobo) has ~25-30 fps more than me. Thats a HUGE F%$#% difference. I'm not sure, maybe it's because of my cheap motherboard? This is my bench: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/24191933
  7. I've bought additional 16gb of ram and there is a difference, but not much. Overall it made the game smoother (up to 60 fps on heavy mission), but i definitely need repastiong and also i will invest in twin turbo accelero. The old one is loud as an afterburner. Will let you know what happened.
  8. Yes! Yesterday the thought came to my mind, so I used Midi Translator Pro to assign my AKAI APC 40 buttons to use as keyboard inputs - trying it out now as MDI buttons in hornet. Works awesome, though i need to come up with someting to make it easier to remember which button is which. I am wondering though - is there any way to assign rotary encoders to say altimeter and stuff?
  9. Temp is around 80, max 84 C. Can that lower the poerformance? I can't get much more than 60 fps on HIGH settings + 1.5 SSAA, with drops to 30 fps and even less. Doesn't seem right. Also i have 16GB ram and i5 9660k. What do you think is the bottleneck?
  10. Hi, I've just got a used 1080 ti and ran userbench. I wonder if the note: Performing way below expectations (18th percentile) does mean I should be worried? Thanks in advance bart
  11. Yes I confirm both 5N66M Clam Shell (CS) and 64H6E Big Bird (BB) are to be found under H2 class. Unfortunately, when they are tightly packed on map, this doesn't help at all so I need to cycle/cage.
  12. Ok, I've went through all possible options and the only one that warks is cycling while caging/uncaging (I'm not sure what did I do wrong before that I didn't see what was locked). Tedious, especially when so little time vs SA-10, but I guess doable. Thank you very much. ALSO: The HS class which is supposed to filter search radars doesn't let BB and CS through - zero contacts. But maybe I understand the "search radar" wrong. Anyway I can't seem to make classes work. Anyway thanks for help and I hope we get a better solution in the future.
  13. Hi. Is there a way to offset RWR returns (signals?) ona HARM panel on DDI in TOO mode? When I try to attack an SA-10 (coupled with some 6 and 15, but my target is SA-10) in TOO mode I find it impossible to select the search radars (bb and cs) like in SP mode, all of them remain in one spot. Is there any way to prevent this?
