  1. I bought Rift S December 2019. I feel liberated from 2D screen for the first time. There is no way that I will ever play DCS in 2D screen. The two can not even be compared. VR is by any imaginable scale far better than 2D. The VR experience is truly a high unlike any. Cheers.
  2. The reason you lose headset sound when you go back to the sim is that...you haven't set out audio out in DCS. Go to DCS Home Menu, click the Options and Choose the Audio section. In that page there is the option of Main audio, set that to your Rift S or your system speakers. There are more ways to do this. But try that, let me know
  3. I actually fly better now in VR than in 2D screens. My landing is now on spot. Plus I kill more bandits now in VR than in 2D. I am never going back to 2D:lol:
  4. This is as real as it gets. Impressive device indeed. Bought Rift S and I am in awe. Flat screen doesnt do DCS justice. It comes alive in VR. Bye Flat screen. Thank you Eagle Dynamics.
  5. I use 4K monitor and also use VR. I have no issue. I use the radar most of the time. When I am in visual range, objects appear normal as in real world. I spent countless hours familiarizing myself with the radar datelink and IFF. I believe it must be the first thing a newbie must do.
  6. In real world cockpit, you can't see a plane few miles away, let alone 22 miles away. When in actual cockpit, planes beyond 5-8 miles appear nothing more than a blurred dot. Use radar when flying. When in visual range, look, and you will see the actual plane. I actually challenge anyone who sat in a cockpit say that they can see another plane beyond six miles on a clear day with no clouds. There is visual range beyond which the human eye can not see. Learn to use the radar detection system on the jets. Without that knowledge, you are simply inviting a missile in your cockpit. It is rationally unfair to be asking for ways to visually see planes 22 miles away from you.
