  1. Thank you Razor! I tried that miz file but the huey is cold and dark and I want it to be already started so I\m not wasting time starting it all the time. I played around and found the helicopter group with the huey and changed it to excellent pilot and parking/hot so it would be started but when I save the miz file the huey group is no longer listed as aircraft to choose from. Any ideas?

  2. I have to agree outlaw which is what I did too. I also know nvidia VERY well after dealing with their shenanigans for the past 7 years with surround and 3d surround. There will be all manner of problems with VR and SLI I can guarantee it which is another reason I went with the 980ti. I am going to sell one of my 970s and use the other one as a backup when I upgrade to skylake this Christmas.

  3. Can someone tell me how to generate a mission in NTTR with the Huey or how to modify the only instant action mission there is so that there are some weapons on the Huey? I call for a rearm and a refuel in the instant action and nothing ever happens. Generating any kind of mission puts me outside any aircraft looking around Nellis with no Huey to be found anywhere! I just want to be able to start a session at mccarran with the huey started and with weapons ready but can't seem to be able to figure out how to do it! Thanks all :)

  4. Same thing I did last week pitbull. Ordered a 980ti and get 30-60fps in 3d surround glory with no stutter while getting similar fps in all my other games, some more some less depending on game but still all well above 30fps. My 970's are sitting on my desk wrapped in anti-static bags for the past week :) The only bummer with the 980ti is I have to use this buggy DP to DVI adapter that requires resetting every time it goes in or out of 3D...

  5. pitbull: I tried dcs 1.5 with 760sli and 970sli with the same results on both. 99% gpu utilization and the same fps with one card as two. I changed every possible profile setting in NI to no avail. I'm running a 980ti now so I haven't tested sli with 2.0 but I don't see that the results would be any different. Not sure how you are getting double the fps with SLI when everyone else's results have mirrored mine which is no difference between one or two cards regardless of gpu utilization on the 2nd card. Maybe you are lucky and found the magic setting when the rest of us have spent hours testing and have not.

  6. Whether the 2nd card shows 5% or 99% you won't get any more or less fps than you would with one card. I have tested it here over and over and the only thing the 2nd card does for me is add stutter in 3d surround and cause flashing clouds if the profile is messed around with. There is no magic setting for now on 1.5 or 2.0. Knowing nvidia it will be many many months if ever before this is fixed and potentially ED has to fix it and so far they haven't breathed a peep on these forums that they are working on it.

  7. I played briefly this morning before I had to go to work at 5760x1080 in 3d surround with all settings on or near high and don't recall any performance issues in Vegas proper with a 980ti. I'll have to check how much vram is being used since there's not much more performance impact than what I'm doing. Even 4K doesn't compete against 3d surround as far as performance needed to run smoothly.

  8. Most every game I have tried gain significant fps with SLI. SLI works very well for the most part for me, with DCS and FSX being the main examples of it NOT working at all. The problem is with nvidia's terrible driver support for it and for surround. I've been saying for a few years now that nvidia has basically washed their hands of supporting anything beyond a single monitor, single GPU system. Their mentality seems to be if it works, great, but if not they throw their hands in the air.

  9. Well what you are going to find is that you think SLI is scaling because your GPUs are running at 99% each according to afterburner but when you play with one GPU you will see you have the same fps as with two. I don't understand how that is but it is. I removed a 970 from my machine and get the same fps as with two even though afterburner says the GPUs are both loaded at 99%. Enabling 3D for me with two also causes major stutter that I don't get with one GPU even though the fps is the same. Something with this engine is totally broken with SLI for now.

  10. Also let me know if 2.0 runs better in sli if you can. I'm pretty happy with the performance of the 980ti in 3D surround but still baffled at why the performance is 3x less compared to regular surround. Never seen that kind of performance hit before in 3D surround in any other game. Usually fps are cut in half at the absolute worst and usually not even that much...

  11. Granted the system is old but a 6700K isn't THAT much faster than a 2600K overclocked. 15% maybe. There just hasn't been that much advancement in desktop systems in the past 5 years. Upgrading is in the works before the end of the year but I don't suspect that it will add that much benefit in performance.
