  1. This looks great! Could you please tell how you did it? Is there a mod for this already? I'd love to beautify my F15 to look like yours.
  2. I'm very interested to know these landmarks too. I only had a few hours with FC2, and it looks like all the cities were kind of plain and generic looking, simply done by several different building clusters hedge-podged together, nothing like real cities. I'm flying FSX a lot, although I'm not expecting that kind of cities in FC2 at least those Crimean cities in the old LockOn looks decent. Maybe I looked at the wrong places, yes, if someone makes a tour of FC2 I'll be glad to fly it!
  3. I am too angry about NaturalPoint's decision to stop supporting TrackIR2 in current games and win7. I had been using TIR2 in BS by using cracked dll file and drivers and I felt absolutely no guilty about doing that. But the fix only worked partially since I can only use TIR2 in mouse mode under Win7. I see absolutely no reason why simple X/Y headtracking with TIR2 can not work with Blackshark/Win7, other than NaturalPoint's deliberate plan to force people to buy their TIR4/5. Well they succeeded, at least I just bought the TIR5 couple weeks ago. But the thing is that NaturalPoint could have continued the support of TIR2, and I will still buy the TIR5 due to its cool 6DOF. In that case, I'll give high respect, not disrepect, to this company. I delayed my upgrade to TIR5 for about a year precisely b/c I despise the current practice of NP, and due to my real concerns how NP will treat their TIR5 customers couple years down the road.
  4. It appears to me that both LOVP and Leavu use their own export.lua files. I haven't tried the LOVP yet, but I already installed Leavu and it works fine. So what should I do if I want to test run LOVP too? Should I let the LOVP's export.lua overwrite the Leavu's? Or will it be a way I can run both at the same time? I haven't played Lockon for a quite few years so there are a lot of catch ups for me. But I must say that running LOFC2 at max out settings on my 30" Dell is like a dream coming true (thanks to my i5@4Ghz and ATI5850). I remember those desperate days when then hardware was hopelessly five or even ten years behind the LOMAC, and how endless hours were spent to squeeze just one more fps. Finally, those days are gone!
  5. Well, I can now confirm that MaxiVista + iPad don't work for Leavu 2.1. Maxivista works fine, and I can use iPad as an extra screen, albeit kind of slow. Leavu works fine too if I only put those MFD/ADI windows on my real 2nd monitor. If I move those MFD and ADI windows to iPad window then the MFD display gets frozen or blank, while the ADI window becomes completely white blank. Don't know why, probably has sth to do with how Maxivista handles display on iPad? Since Maxivista currently doesn't support touch on iPad, I'd guess it will be also useless for Touchbuddy or Touchpal. Here goes my $10 for curiosity...:D
  6. Yes. Apparently there is a $10 app called MaxiVista that can turn iPad into a second monitor for PC. I just bought the app and will give it a try when I'm home (I don't have the right network to test it in my office). Currently MaxiVista doesn't support the touch screen feature of iPad, but it's said that they may implement that feature in future release.
  7. I for sure will buy the app, as long as it's not charged at an absurd price (>$15?). I just bought the Cougar MFD for $50 shipped, and this iPad app will be 100x better in terms of functionality. The Cougar MFD only has buttons, no screen. I hope you or someone may seriously consider it. iPad goes through Wifi, so it's just a server/client kind of thing to get it connected to PC?
  8. I made a the following post in Lockon forum, but I should post it here. I think iPad could function as a fabulous touch screen. I hope soon there will be software like touchbuddy that will make iPad useful for flight sims.
  9. I just installed FC 2.0 and I was overwhelmed by reprogramming so many keys into my X45. Last time I was doing it was a long time ago. I suddenly realized that my iPad is touch sensitive. And if someone can write a program to make it function as a MFD with touchable buttons, that would be fantastic. Given the size and resolution of iPad screen, it probably can display two MFDs side by side, or one MFD with a lot of extra buttons! Anyway, I'm not a programmer. Just a piece of thought...
  10. I couldn't get the catalyst 8.12 installed properly on Win7, so I had to install 9.2(?) the latest from ATI for visita 32/64bit. Yes, now the SP interface is much better. It's still not normal, for instance I only see a circle of buttons but no text on the opening menu. But at least the interface is now usable, and the submenus are good enough for making adjustments. I can't believe ATI or DCS screws up such a small thing. The game plays no problem. Anyway EtherealN is 100% right on this issue...
  11. Thanks for the explaining. That seems to make sense. I haven't tried the multiplayer shortcut yet, but I'll give it a try once I'm at home. If that menu runs ok then I guess my problem is exactly what you described. I'll probably install the vista driver to see if it works.
  12. Thanks for the quick reply! But I'm not using any ATI driver. The driver is Win7's default. Actually, since ATI doesn't provide win7 compatible drivers for x1900, I don't know what to do in terms of installing drivers from ATI... :( Again, the game appears running fine, it's the launcher interface.
  13. I just installed the first time Black Shark + 1.01b on my windows 7 PC. When I click the "Black Shark 1.01" desktop icon, the window pops up, but it has a white background with yellow fonts "Loading...". Then the window would become completely white and blank, except on the top right corner there is a banner and text "Version 1.01". If I randomly click somewhere, I may open a submenu which is also displayed in wierd color. It looks to me that that whole menu and interface are there, but in color (inverted?) that not visible on the white background. By luck I clicked the right button and activated the game. After that I also randomly clicked somewhere and some time I launched the game in game mode and it actually was running fine in the default window. I'm running Windows 7 64bit Ultimate, e6600/6GB/ATI X1900 (with windows 7 built-in driver), 30" 2560x1600 + 20" 1200x1600 (in portrait), X45 HOTAS. I'm running Lock On Flaming Cliffs no problem on this setup.
