  1. Hey LouP, Just came across your posts as I’m trying to get my head round which engine power settings to use. (See my previous posts that we currently have a mix of three different sources available that all differ). Are you saying that having the oil and air coolers whacked fully open is the key at the moment? I’ve been flying them on neutral and never had a temp rise issue but still get engine seizes regardless of engine settings and paying OCD levels of attention to the gauges. I’ve been finding the majority of time it’s after I’ve lowered (slowly and controlled as per the manuals) the rpm to say go to eco cruise or come into the landing pattern. Cheers!
  2. Sorry I mean will you put the correct data card in the module. Regardless of style.
  3. Any news on if the taxi bug is getting a fix soon? was on the carrier today and it’s almost impossible to turn her 180 from parking to the rear for take off. On the ground with no wind it’s slightly easier but 9/10 I need almost full power to get her rolling forwards and then hit a wheel brake but she lifts the tail off and kills the prop. The only way I can get her to taxi OK is if it’s a long smooth taxi run and you can dab the brakes and get her changing direction. But if you need to spin her or move her in a tight space I can’t seem to get it done. It feels like the individual wheel brake is too powerful and brakes the whole aircraft and that tail wheel isn’t freely moving. Takl wheel is unlocked. I’m using VKB rudders with no brakes on them so I use MH HOTAS two-way as left and right brakes. Works perfectly with the jug. Right now the taxi issue limits what you can do on the ground with the Corsair.
  4. Okay thanks for the heads up. Will the engine management card in cockpit be updated to reflect the actual engine type in the module anytime soon?
  5. Understood - but this is my point - the manuals and reference material don’t match so I’m asking to see if there is a definitive answer yet. We don’t know if Mag3 based their model off that manual do we?
  6. Okay that’s good to know! Any reason why we can’t get a 1D with water injection card in a 1D aircraft? Was it an intentional design decision to leave the wrong card in perhaps? Or historically were they never updated?
  7. So should we be on auto lean or auto rich for take off/Rated/Cruise?
  8. Okay thanks for the details. @-Rudel-are you able to confirm which source we should be using to best get the safe and accurate performance out of our shiny new Corsairs?
  9. Thanks for the reply and the details. So it seems there are inconsistencies with the data sources as well as the model. can I ask which settings you use for Rated, cruise and WEP then in order to not damage the engine?
  10. How do those WEP settings compare to the settings advised in the F4U-1 manual as they are different power settings to Magnitudes manual. It states to use a higher MP and Auto-Lean. 2700 RPM / 57.5 MP / Auto Lean at sea level.
  11. Hi all I have been looking at learning the Corsair to find the engine management power settings for MP/RPM/Fueling all at the different alts. The three sources I have are attached in order: 1. The actual Magnitude supplied manual. 2. A digitally replicated (from user files) of the stamped card inside the modules cockpit left hand side. 3. A regularly quoted and provide F4U-1D with the water injected engine ACTUAL flight manual. If you look closely the most common power and engine settings differ for Take Off/Rated(max con)/Cruise/Economy cruise. Can anyone, preferably Magnitude, please provide us with the correct settings to use. Take for example the Max Rated settings - the cockpit card shows a different fuel mix to the actual IRL manual. Next, take for example, max cruise - all three sources show different MP/RPM/Fuel mix settings. How can the internal cockpit card be different to the actual magnitude manual and be different to the actual IRL manual. Magnitude please can you help us out and clarify so we can get the most out of this awesome module - as you know warbirds engines are delicate and you need to master and rote memorise the settings but you can’t do that if the source material is all different.
  12. Is the DCS Corsair modelled on the above chart - I notice not all of those parameters are included in the manual with the module.
  13. Welcome to the Expeditionary Air Command Group. We’re looking for new pilots to join EAC, a newly formed DCS WWII group dedicated to camaraderie, teamwork, and a shared passion for the golden age of air combat. We primarily fly Allied aircraft, organised into dedicated squadrons for the P-47D, P-51D, Mosquito, Spitfire, and Corsair. Whether you’re a battle-tested ace or just getting started with warbirds, EAC is the perfect place to sharpen your flying skills, learn from others, and immerse yourself in WWII aviation history and some awesome flying. Although based in the UK, our roster includes pilots from all around the world. You’ll find us dogfighting on the Project Overlord server for PvP action, or training and running custom missions on our own 24/7 live PvE server. What We Offer: • A welcoming, knowledgeable DCS community • Monthly, custom-built milsim missions and training events • A 24/7 training server featuring Normandy 2 and Marianas maps, recreating the ETO and PTO theatres If you’re ready to fly with a supportive squadron and be part of something new come and join our discord. https://discord.gg/yV3swkjr99
  14. I haven’t had the issue since the last few updates. I think one back in may/June addressed the issues?? As well as fog and dust storm settings I also had it induced when looking at smoke effects from the F4s engines and the smoky Mig-29 engines. It was always more prevalent when you looked through HMCS at particle effects (engines, smoke, fog, dust). I verified it in the hornet HMCS, A-10 HMCS. Out of interest @signormagnifico do you have AMD or Nvidia card out of interest?
  15. Ahh that makes sense as I was going up near 3k and it blew. I was thinking it was all good to do it because the manual said. Thanks for the clarification buddy.
