Hello. Have a strange problem. I purchased DCS A-10c and am trying to download it via the links. Setup, setup1 and setup 3 bin files are all downloaded ok. But setup2 bin file won’t finish downloading. It gets to 99%, the download rate drops dramatically, and then the green downlaned bar (using Flashget) starts going backwards to about 80% and starts again up to 99.9% from the 80% position....then repeats the going backwards when it gets to 99.9%. What is going wrong? Thank you. apoll

Hi. I have been following this simulation with great interest. At this stage, I have been holding off buying, as they are releasing beta versions. I want to wait until a full release is offered. BUT...I have a suspicion this strategy, normally a good one, may not be applicable here. I'm after a steer here: is the beta to all intent and purposes, a full, largely bug free simulation? Hi. Well, it has come to this. I have always been an offline guy....never got in to the multiplayer thing at all. Didn't want to join a online squad and make a committment; join up and then let people down when real life intrudes. Don't own a microphone and wouldn't know how to setup/use Teamspeak (or whatever) if my life depended on it. BUT...I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and try and get some online training. I am probably not ready for a full online squad; besides I live eastern side of Australia and the thought of having to get up at sparrows to participate in your North American/European timezones leaves me cold....and most of the squads are in US (right?). Does anyone know of someone good who could walk me through how to setup microphine and get online with BS? And then take me through some real time flight instruction? Is there anyway of doing that? I have spent a lot of time getting familiar with the BS systems...but I guess I have only really scratched the surface, and I could really benefit from some 'hand holding', especially on how to get the best out of the autopilot/stabilisation modes when flying. I seem to be fighting the helicopter most of the time when I try and 'go tactical', and I'm sure it is because I don't yet fully understand the trim/auto pilot/stabilisation modes properly. I certainly will make the committment if there is someone out there who might be willing to invest some time with pretty much a newby type pilot. Anyway, grateful views/opinions/suggestions. apoll :)

Ok. Thanks for those who responded. I could not get AA to work: I tried CCC setting a profile to run on the new executable...no good. I alt tab'ed out and reset the aa in the CCC and alt tab'ed back into the game...didn't work. I loaded ATI tray tools and did everything I could...no good. Finally, in desperation, I went back to the 10.7. drivers...and guess what? No more problems! WTF???? Using the new 10.8 drivers seems to have porked things for me. Another thing...the Rivatuner D3D overider thingy...that allows you to force VSync...it crashes BS for me whenever I use it. I do not know what the pluck is going on with this thing. Anyway, at least I have AA back. I would like to fix the issue so I can use the new drivers. IS THERE ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE WHO IS HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING AA TO WORK WITH THE LATEST ATI 10.8 DRIVERS??? Surely I can't be the only one?? And what did you do to overcome this problem? If you overcame the problem... Here comes a frustrated rant: (please forgive in advance). I have to say....this whole business with graphics cards and software compatiability is wearing thin; if it is not awful shimmering in Rise of Flight, it's something else, like no AA in BS. What gives in the industry? Can't the mob who make these things get their act together and produce something that works with rock solid stability? It just seems so...ad hoc...hit and miss....almost there is good enough.... I really wish we would see the emergence of a company or product that produced a piece of hardware and accompanying software that worked 100% of the time, delivered what it said it would, and didn't drive its customers mad with problems. The major suppliers could benefit from a real shakeup and some competition from a supplier that got their act together. I yearn for such a day! (but won't hold my breath!) Ok, rant over. Hello. What has happened? I cannot enable AA now in the sim; tried every combination of CCC setting...tried the ATI tray tool...all no good. How do I force this thing to use AA? Looks terrible without it. Running 2 x 5970s. apoll :(

Hi. This is a very helpful forum so I thought I'd post a question. I'm in basic practice mode trying to get the mechanics and skills under my belt before doing anything too complicated. I'm practising at present transition from hover to moving forward back to hover. Scenario: I go into hover behind a ridge, simulating positions I'd take up in combat; I'm in hover okey..I go up to take a peak and turn on the combat systems and Shkval. The HUD immediately looses the nav data. Ok..no probs. I look up a target with the Shkval and I want to engage with Vikr missiles. I realise I'm too far away and need to move forward one kilometre. What is the best way to do this? I can take hover off and move forward a bit with the Shkval still lockade...but it is difficult to get back into hover mode, as I've lost any airspeed clues on the HUD. Or I can turn off the Shkval, getting back the nav data and clues I need to transition smoothly to slowly moving back to hover. Is there a way to keep my combat systems on, the Shkval locked AND still have airspeed data on the HUD? What's the best way to transition in this scenario? I image one would be doing this sort of thing an awful lot; hover, move slowly to new position, hover, look, lock enagge, move again, hover et cetera. Appreciate any tips. tks to all who replied. I think it has to do with the training mission I've been using...it does not enable the ADF for some reason; I loaded up a mission, and wallah...there was the table on the side of the cockpit complete..so assume it worksd there. Must be mission specific. apoll

Hi. Getting into the detail of BS now...concentrating on navigating to NDBs using the ADF radio compass. Except...when I switch to a pre set channel..say to Kymrsk airfield NDB....the needle on the HSI does not move. I do a test of the ADF system...the needle moves...but just goes back to standing straight up on the HSI. I switch to the soumd test...there is no morse code being given...it is as if the thing is NOT working. What am I doing wrong? I am using Shark Pit v 2..and I notice on the right cocpit wall..where the airfield ADF frequencies should be...there is nothing..just an empty template ready for the frequencies. Is this connected? Is it possible there are no ADF frequencies loaded into my ARK.lua? Grateful any help here... Also...one more question...I would like to have max realism and have each airfield have a different frequency...so I have to dial it up in the VHF radio first. Has anyone got a modified lua file for this? I can go through and do each airfield my self..but if someone's already done it... thanks. apoll

Hi. Sorry if this has gone round the bouy before, but did a search and could not find answer. I've set up a two monitor system to play BS. I understand I can't have a full screen in the monitors as Vista doesn't like it. In the main monitor (the cockpit view) I have a windowed view..with the task bar along the bottom; destroys imersion. I notice on the second monitor (ABRIS and Shval camera) there is no task bar along the bottom; it fills the height and width admirably. I've tried ticking full screen in the options lua...no good...won't work. Is there a way I can get the main monitor back to full screen and still have a two monitor setup? Grateful advice. apoll :(

Hi. I've downloaded DSC Max and I note after the patch, we don't actually need it for the cores anymore. But it has other great utilities: loading your skin...favourite mission...TIR upon start up etc. Can I still use it? Will having the core thingys ticked do anything to slow down my computer? Or do I just not tick them now that the patch 1.0.1c has made it uncessary? In other words, can I still use DSC Max...and if so, HOW do I use it? Gratful advice.. apoll :)

Hi. Question is this: I have downloaded some cool skins...installed them via Modman as instructed. But...when I open the mission or training or whatever, they are NOT being used. How do I make a downloaded and installed skin the default for all my BS interactions? Grateful advice. apoll :)

Hi. I'm new. Just trying to get me head across BS...amazing sim. How does this trim work? I've downloaded Viper - Ala 13's Cougar profile...but not sure how the trim works...explanation in profile is confusing. Do I need to move the joystick to the position, hit trim and holsing trim, re center the stick and let go of the trim button? Is that it? What's this 'in BS trim' VERSUS 'Cougar trim' that I see being talked about? Grateful people point me to previous threads if they exist... tks. apoll :cry:
