Can you make it so the user doesn't have to see modules that are not purchased at the bottom of the main interface or, at the very least, put them to the right of the purchased modules?

I've created a support ticket. I completely removed DCS 2 from my machine so there were NO DCS products on my machine. I then reinstalled it and it asked me if I wanted to install the various modules I had - which I did...but the activation key for BS2 Standalone was not being accepted and it still kept asking me for the BS2 Upgrade key also. What a mess.

I've had to perform an uninstall and reinstall of DCS2 as it just started loading with a black screen I'll let you know...thank you

Thanks BillyCrusher....but the BS2 upgrade (nor BS1) is showing as installed. I wonder if I have to re-install BS1, then BS2 upgrade and then remove again?

This has got me down somewhat - because I bought the BS 2 standalone to get away from the BS1 requirement and ease the issue....and it seems to have made the issue worse

When I load the Modules window, I'm shown a small dialog that says "Upgrade from DCS Black Shark 1 to DCS Black Shark 2". I dismiss that window because I don't want the upgrade. Then when I check out the Modules window, the Module Manager only shows "Upgrade from DCS Black Shark 1 to DCS Black Shark 2" with an Install button....no BS2 standalone portion showing

There was a an upgrade for Black Shark 1 to bring it up to 2 or you could buy Black Shark 2. The upgrade was obviously cheaper and the "obvious" option for Black Shark 1 owners. However, having to install BS1 before installing BS 2 Upgrade was a pain and when I saw BS2 (standalone - no BS 1 required) in the sale, I purchased it. But it's not showing up in the modules...only upgrading to BS2 and I need BS1 installed to do that - which I don't have installed anymore. Besides, I bought the BS2 module to get away from upgrading from BS 1 and requiring BS 1 to be installed.

Hi all I originally had installed BS1 and BS2 Upgrade. However, I recently bought BS2. As far as I was aware, I had it installed, but when I try to load DCS and it asks me for the activation, I use the BS2 Standalone key and it says it's invalid. When I go into the game and Modules, there's a small dialog saying I can upgrade from BS1 to BS2...however, BS1 isn't installed anymore. It seems I've got in a pickle and I don't know how to get around it. BS1 isn't installed. BS2 Upgrade isn't installed and as far as I was aware, BS2 standalone was - but I can't activate it. Any ideas out there on how I can get out of this mess? Thanks

So I re-ran the first mission and followed ATC once I said I was inbound. I received a bearing and distance to fly and then nothing else. In the end I was a considerable amount of miles away without hearing anything else and decided to head back. When I did, I still heard nothing and decided to do what someone suggested above which was circle round south of Nellis AFB. Eventually I got a clear to land message out the blue...however, as someone mentioned above, when I landed I was very surprised to see another F-15 on the runway which I had to avoid! This is a bit of an immersion killer. It's all well and good having a great campaign (so I've heard...I've only done the first mission at the moment), but not being talked down with so many planes about, is rather disappointing. I never really knew any of this because in all honesty, for all the time I've had DCS I've always been trying to just learn the flight models, systems and weapons and those tasks have kept me busy seemingly forever. So I've never had much in the way of dealings with ATC in a busy environment. I'll be watching progress on ATC with mucho enthusiasm.

I think my main issue was I was given inbound directions - and then nothing. Now as it happens, there were a lot of flights about and some were landing (F-16s for example)...but my main beef was no instruction. I didn't know what to do. I didn't even get a nod to hold - just nothing. So I didn't know why I wasn't getting the call. I ended up trying to land myself and there were F-16s on the field. So I guess the reason I didn't get the call to land was because of other traffic. But I had no other instruction. So I was left wondering what I should do after I had got to the point on the bearing the ATC told me. I'm going to give the mission another go tonight and see if hanging around actually gets me the call. Or whether, as I suspect, I just get nothing.

Thank you. Pity about this. I mean, the sim is so detailed in so many other aspects. I would love to see proper comms and protocols from at least ATC

Thank you for your response. So - is it just a case of flying around near the airfield until you get the green light? I did ask for Landing Clearance - but it never came. When I eventually landed I realised why - there were 2 F-16s landing. So does the airfield let you know and I just have to be patient? And do I just loiter around until I get said clearance? Thanks.

Hi all Just really getting started and learning and I had a question about landing. I was doing the first Red Flag mission and when it came time to land I got to the penultimate waypoint and informed the tower that I was inbound. The tower replied by telling me to proceed on a bearing for a set distance - which I did. I was expecting further instructions - but none came. Now I'm pretty sure just flying around near an airport (especially one as busy as Nellis in Red Flag) is not an acceptable hobby. So my question is - do you get talked down in this game (FC3, A-10C, Mi-8 or whatever)? Are proper landing protocols enabled and does the tower actually get back in touch, telling you how to get to the ground? I remember a mission way, way back in Falcon 4 where I was heading back to base and I was very pleasantly surprised when the tower not only talked me down, but talked me around the airfield in the holding pattern whilst other aircraft landed. So - do you "get talked down" in this game? Thank you

My key bindings are absolutely fine and exactly as they are in 1.5 However, moving the radar lock cursor up and down using those inputs does indeed adjust the range. Still a bug though, I think. But thank you very much Jester. At least I can adjust range now.

Hi I was flying the first mission in the Red Flag campaign for DCS 2 and when I put the radar in BVR mode, it shows 10 in the top right (range). Nothing I do changes that. I've checked and re-checked the key assignments (I have changed very little in the game regarding keys) and they key assignments are fine. Anyone got any ideas please? I'm not sure if this is an F-15C (Flaming Cliffs version) in DCS2 bug, or my bug :music_whistling: I went into the F-15C (Flaming Cliffs) in DCS 1.5 and the keys to increase/decrease range were working fine.

Yeah I've got the documents. I also noticed the WP was over the BE...I just didn't know why. Thanks for your help.

Thank you. So if I read correctly, WP1 is used to identify the Bullseye and should be avoided...meaning head straight to WP2?

So the first mission in Red Flag has you taking up CAP duties with strict ROE. Cool. However, each time I play it, I fail because I've went past the FEBA. But when I checked the map in the Mission Editor, the first waypoint is way over near the Bullseye...well past the FEBA. If I follow the mission waypoints, I will fail everytime. Is it a mistake in the mission creation? Or am I meant to "use my noggin" and not approach waypoint 1? Perhaps I'm meant to change the waypoint in the mission editor? Any advice would be appreciated Thanks :thumbup:

Thank you. I did get a reply to my email (from you) that said they were reinstated and so I was pretty annoyed when I found that to be untrue.

As far as I'm aware, they simply reinstate the activations to your key. However, I emailed as per the details in the first post in this very long thread. Everything seemed to very easy and I was told they were reinstated. But I asked a couple of questions then everything went silent and the activations have not been reinstated. I am not suggesting that they were not reinstated because of my questions - just that they have not been reinstated. As I said above, last install took me down to 2. Not happy. I'm not happy at all.

Activations I wish someone would give me back my activations (as I was informed had been the case by email) from when the Mig-21 required reactivation time and again between 1.2 and 1.5. I had already contacted the email address as requested in another thread and I was told my activations were reset. At that time I had uninstalled DCS and when I came to install fresh recently, I was down to 2! So whomever is responsible - please tell me what to do to get my activations reinstated please. :mad:

And forcing the updater to perform a repair fixed the issue. The Mig-21 now shows in my list of installed modules. Thank you. :thumbup:

Thanks. The installer (through the module manager) didn't complete - I had to reboot - and so it's got it's panties in a twist. I'll try the downloader. It does work fine in 1.5 - I literally just tried it. Thanks again

Thank you - but I did say in my post So I have done that, and they did tell me my activations had been reinstated - but they are not. Of more concern to me at the moment is the fact that Mig-21 is neither showing up in the modules for download nor available for playing in any missions...it seems to be stuck in purgatory - thinking it's installed, but it's not.

Hi all I tried to install the Mig-21 in DCS 2.0 and it was stuck for an hour on "Preparing to Torrent"...in the end I had to reboot the machine and now it will not show up in the available modules and it's not showing as installed (no missions or campaigns etc). So I can't, now, get it installed for 2.0 On another note, when I was flipping between 1.2 and 1.5, I noticed my activations going down rapidly. I found a thread on here saying to contact the company which I did and I was told my activations were reinstated (after providing them with details of my order). However, when installing the Mig-21 in 1.5 (prior to the mess up with 2.0 above - installing in 1.5 went fine) I was asked to activate it and again and I noticed I only had 3 left. Can I please have them back...pretty please?
