  1. Majestic and Collossus were similar enough that if you squint hard enough and look through the airconditioning ducting on the Melbourne, it would pass for any number of others.
  2. I will make an image of all the liveries tonight and post.
  3. HMCS Magnificent was a straight through deck for all of it's service life as far as I can tell. I don't have arrestors for a straight through deck. I could make something, but not for the inital release. Nothing to stop people from adding liveries if they wish. The more the merrier. I can produce a template for anyone interested...eventually.
  4. These images are a little old, but you get the idea. II made the Bonnie, but the others are the work of an Englishman with an interest in variants of this carrier.
  5. We have started calling her HMCS Wimbledon...
  6. Concentrating on the Ark Royal first.
  7. I doubt it, but it makes it more useable and flexible in DCS if it can. It has trouble with SFM aircraft, but I have not tested many of those.
  8. I have a Sea King on the back-burner.
  9. When there is one, I guess it will be.... Needs a Buccaneer too. I have a Sea King in the pipeline.
  10. Not sure of the lineage of the S-2, so It's not mine to say if it can or can't be released. It's not included with the Melbourne.
  11. Hello All, Just letting you know I am developing the HMS Ark Royal (R09), circa 1978. Early days, will be a few months before it's presentable with more than placeholder textures. JBDs , radar, catapults. and arresting gear operational. so far. Braedon
  12. Hello All, ================================================================== NOTICE: (April 7, 2021) HMAS Melbourne v1.1 is updated on ED's User Files for download. ================================================================== HMAS Melbourne II (R21) is released. You will find it with all of my liveries and mods here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/filter/sort-is-date_desc/user-is-Bungo/apply/?PER_PAGE=100 ** Be sure to download all the download parts ** (I had to split it up to overcome the 300MB upload limit on the User Files) Launches the Hornet, Tomcat, Harrier, and the A-4E-C (EFM Only), and any helo you care to use.. There will be 3 variants included: HMAS Melbourne (Fixed Wing) - This is the main variant and will launch and recover all the aircraft mentioned above. It has a workaround to enable the A-4 Skyhawk to launch with any payload as, at 43m long, the catapult is very short (Nimitz class is ~115m in sim). HMAS Melbourne (Fixed Wing - WIP) - This is the same as above wbut with the catapult actually at 43m. The Tomcat and Hornet will launch from it with varying degrees of success. It's purpose is for me to try to get the A-4 working with the native length catapult definition. Use at your own discression. Majestic Class STOVL - a fictional ASW/LPH variant without the bridle arrestor, mirror landing aid, catapult and arresting gear. Will include the following liveries: HMAS Melbourne (Fixed Wing) (inc WIP): - 1970s with yellow markings on flight deck - 1980s with red markings on flight deck - 1960s with solid yellow and white flight deck markings - ARA Veinticinco de Mayo (V2) - NAeL Minas Gerais (A11) - HMCS Bonaventure (R22) - HMS Centaur (R06) - HMS Warrior (R31) Majestic Class STOVL: - HMAS Sydney (R17) - Fictioinal upgrade to an LPH - HMS Albion (R07) - HMS Bulwark (R08) RAN 805 Squadron liveries for all these and HMAS Vampire and Vendetta for the battle group can be found here: Bungo's DCS Skins and Ships The Oliver Hazard Perry Class was the basis of the RAN's Adelaide class, so they can be added for some variation to the battle group. Regards Bungo
  13. Old post, but the numbers and combination of national insignia/US Style airframe numbers is controlled with arguments 31, 32, & 70. Put the following at the bottom of your description.lua: custom_args = { [31] = 0.9; --10s digit. 1.0=blank [32] = 0.3; -- units digit 1.0=blank [70] = 0.6; -- Different combinations of this make for different combinatons of the Russian star on the tail/underside or the US Style airframe number on the rudder. 0.6 removes everything. } (you can leave the comments out of course)
  14. Hello Tuomaspap,

I am making the HMAS Melbourne and I am interested in your deck texture (the wrinkled one).  Is it possible to get a copy of that?  Does it use a Normal map?

Here is a link to my very WIP HMAS Melbourne if you are interested.

I have seen the HMAS Melbourne model for some post. It's very cool. It is downloadable?

      greeting

  15. That's the one I downloaded, and I can'tget them to work so maybe it is not feasible. The roughmets in that don't look the same as the modern ones so maybe it's diferent channels doing diffrent things to the modern roughmet. I would have thought that when they touched up the Ka-50 recently they would have added that. Given if you make a ship model you have to do nothing to make it roughmet compatable (a texture with the filename format <texture file name>+"_RoughMet" in the same directory is enough to do it). Thanks Braedon
  16. Looks remarkably like that.
  17. I have the roughmet the same as I have ceated for my other liveries. I just cannot make the one I made or the ones others have to have any effect.
  18. I am trying to make a livery for the Ka-50, but none of the usual roughmet methods in the description.Lau work, and no skins I have yet downloaded have them included, or have them included and work. I know it is an old model, but I thought it’s recent updates might have added it. I have seen references to texture material names with _M after the base texture material name in the lua, references to the texture type of 13 (instead of 0, ROUGHNESS_METALIC, and the like), and the files I have seen are mostly red and cyan in colour, but the instructions for installing them invariably state to put them in the game files and update the core texture zip files (which is not anywhere I want to go given there is a system in place to negate the need to do that). Also, I can’t get that to work either. And by not work, I mean there is no evidence it is applying anything, it looks no different to if there is no roughmet/speculation applied. for example, none of these have any effect at all (all of which either follow the standard method of specifying a roughmet texture, or are used in the description.lua file from skins I have downloaded): {"KA-50-PAINT1_M", 13, "KA-50-PAINT1_RoughMet", false}, {"KA-50-PAINT1_M", 0, "KA-50-PAINT1", false}, {"KA-50-PAINT1_M", 13, "KA-50-PAINT1_RoughMet", false}, {"KA-50-PAINT1", ROUGHNESS_METALIC, "KA-50-PAINT1_RoughMet", false}, Anyone with a proven method that goes in Saved Games\DCS\Liveries, I request your help. Regards Braedon.
  19. So, the answer is... Transition lenses??? :-) And yes, whoever thoought that the massively blown out colour/brightness was a good starting point needs an AAMRAM pineapple...
  20. DCS Stable - The lighting is either too bright on the outside, and simultaneously too dark in cockpit. This occured about the same time as the cockpit lights issue came up. At Gamma 2.2 I need polarised sunglasses to see in external views without burning my retinas, and all colours are washed out with brightness. If I turn the Gamma down to 1.7 so I don't get blinded extrnally, the cockpits are invisible in the shadows. Are there any tips on finding a balance? Regards Braedon
  21. Hello All, Is there any info on the PS Mesh Exporter in the Eagle Dynamics Menu in 3DS Max? I presume it is used to use Photoshop to paint your 3D textures, but can barely find a reference to it anywhere. Thanks Braedon
  22. Pressing the RDR button on the MFD did nothing is what "unable to get the radar to show on the MFCD" means. The button animates but nothing happens, nothing on the MFCD changes from whatever is displaying to the radar being displayed.
  23. Confirming the the INS mode is in NAV. Don't have a track ATM. If I put it in dogfight mode the radar is on, but locked to a very short range. Getting late here ATM, so will follow up tomorrow. Thanks Braedon
  24. Hello again, Working throught the systems, I am unable to get the radar to show on the MFCDs (the button animates, but doesn't display). AAP is CMBT, ECS is NORM, otherwise started as per Jabber's and GR videos. Tutorials using the radar seem to start with it already on an MFCD, so I can't see if there is a step I am missing. Also, when I try to jettison tanks, (they are red, which I presume is empty), they don't jettison with Weapon release. Missiles fire off the rails to jettison when those stores are selected, but the tanks stay there. Master arm is on, AA-AG switch is AA. FYI, the CONFIG warning is on as well. Thanks in advance Braedon
