  1. I get the following error when trying to download the campaign after purchasing it. I successfully downloaded the Normandy 2.0 map and the WWII assets.   2. Thanks for your response. I am attaching a Tacview track of the flight. I did not use the burner all the way, just for takeoff. I stayed in mil power. 420 did not seem to have trouble staying with me and that is the speed I flew all the other missions without issues.   3. Hello, Thanks for another fantastic campaign! I played the Serpent's Head 1 and 2 and now this one and I must say these are my favorite campaigns in DCS! For me, it's the right level of difficulty, realism, and fun, and I love the story and voiceovers. I am having an issue with the final mission (mission 15). Just before I get to WP 2 to orbit there, my wingman, 402, turns back to the carrier and lands there! I retried multiple times and every time 402 turns back. I tried sinking the Souria myself but can't seem to hit it with the JDAMs. I'm guessing these are not the right weapons for that so I really need my wingman to stick with me. Any idea why he's turning back? Thanks!
  4. I just had the same issue (menu popping up every few seconds) and after trying many things, what finally fixed it for me was to run VoiceAttack as administrator. I think it was updating the LUA files in my Saved Games folder properly, but not the ones in the Program Files/Eagle Dynamics folder because it was lacking admin permissions. I also made sure I had the proper custom path set to my DCS folder in Vaicom config page, and the proper version (OpenBeta, standalone).
  5. On the F18, the flap effect seems to turn on on off in annoying random short bursts at high speeds (with flaps retracted, i.e. set to Auto). Is that a bug? I turned off the flap effect for now because of that, but I would like to figure this out so that I can turn it back on and feel when I am deploying or retracting the flaps.
  6. I had the same issue with my Dayton Audio pucks (similar to buttkicker but smaller and you get multiple of them). I ended up editing the WAV file for the afterburner with Audacity (I amped it up and lowered the pitch as well) and now it kicks butt! :) I followed the instructions on Andre's website to find the audio file.
  7. Thanks for looking!! FFB add-on module would be awesome! Let us know what you find if you get a chance to look into it. I agree that consumer grade FFB devices can't provide enough force to be fully realistic but they do add a lot of immersion compared to spring sticks. The trim feel, the shaking when stalling, or in turbulences and or at high speed are very valuable. I can think of other potential feedback effects such as slight vibrations when gears are coming in/out, or when flaps are moved, or when weapons are fired (especially the gun). Also, some kind of ridge effect when on the ground that accelerates when taking off. Those feedback effects are not purely realistic as they would not necessarily be felt on the stick in a real plane, but any kind of feedback that helps you "feel" the plane is great for immersion in my opinion. I do understand the issue with not being able to increase the force per G due to the limitation of the motors that are already maxed out at 1G. Shame! Perhaps in the future as you say.
  8. The force feedback support on the F-14 is superb! It is by far the best ffb support available in DCS. I have an old Microsoft Sidewinder 2 that I modded by replacing the grip and adding an extension. Flying the F-14 with it has been wonderful. I wish there was more noticeable increase of resistance with G-force, and accelerating "ridges" feel while taking off on the runway, but that's nit-picky compared to the total absence of ffb support in most other planes.. I would love to see the same FFB support in other planes but I think it is very very low on ED's list of priorities, given the small amount of people with FFB joysticks. It's a chicken and egg problem because until more planes/games support FFB, manufacturers are not likely to make FFB joysticks and customers are not likely to buy them. So my suggestion to Heatblur would be to extract their FFB support as an add-on module that would work on any plane. I would definitely pay for that and I'm pretty sure anyone with a FFB joystick would too. Not sure it's technically feasible but since telemetry is exported via LUA scripts, it seems like it would be doable to have an adapter that reads the telemetry and converts that to FFB inputs. I would love to hear Heatblur's opinion on this. And anyone else's opinions of course!
  9. I would really love to see FFB for the F18. The F14 has great FFB support, can't the ED team use the same code and apply it to the F18? Or could Heatblur release their superb FFB support as an add-on module that could work on any plane? With proper FFB support from more games, perhaps more manufacturer would show interest in making a new FFB joystick. That would be amazing.
