Hi Avolga, see my thread post here for a sample (front panel) to get you started.

You can import the dxf into CamBam Plus and do your own CAM to produce the G-code.

I usually zero my z-axis at the top of the stock, and use negative numbers for depth of cut.

Great job on the machine and have fun!

i am going to test it today.

got error with exporting to g-code, it's look like win7 64 is not supported.

i will test it at home.

if it works, i will look like this :D:D:D

I use CamBam Plus on Win7 64, it should work fine. You get 40 evaluation uses free, then you have to purchase or switch to the old free version (not recommended since it is missing some good features like auto tab generation and lead-in operations).

Some warnings always show up but don't matter, those will never go away. Others might be relevant like you're missing some required data in one of the machining operations. Let me know the error details and I'll try to help if I can.

Hi y2kiah,

so i am not that happy...

my CNC cutting area is too small for this nice front panel, i am working on increasing the cutting area to this dimensions.

another issue , i can see that it is not that simple to just generate G-code from a dxf file.

there is a lot for me to learn before starting cutting panels :( , setting up the CNC to move 1" when i am asking it and not 1/2 " etc there is more for me to learn.

but for those who like to start with homemade CNC running EMC2 under Ubuntu 10.4 i have created Basic Step by step manual, hope it will be useful for some.

Couldn't pass up a panel with a buy it now less than the value of the switches in the panel. Assumed you weren't getting it as you had already posted a response when I hit e-bay.

small progress with my CNC, have first test.

cutting acrylic includes a lot of shavings so i have made quick vacuum cleaner.

it's not perfect but cleans 70% of the dust.

i have test run with AAP panel missed 2 hols , but got the idea of editing G-code.

and !!! got this one too IFF control , it is not working (Gadroc got the working one :( ) but i will try get the max from it.

front console top plate

I finally found free time to bring the front console, forget to reduce MFD cuts (i will manage with this size too).

it is made of 1.5mm galvanized metal (tin).

it will be on top of birch wood .47 or .72 not decided yet.

i have not decided if i am going to yous one screen or 5-6?

but i am thinking using multiple screens more - maintenance will be easy that way.

there are many 8.4, 10" 12" LCD TFT laptop screen in good price, but i still don't know how to connect them to PC, they do not have a VGA or standard output connector.
